  1. Yep. That's about the sum of it. I'd say that you nailed it perfectly with that quote.
  2. Once again the Onion fails in its mission of biting satire by printing the rock honest truth.
  3. I hate yardwork. I do only as much as is absolutely necessary. Once we transition to buying a house I will be getting rid of the normal lawn grasses and installing landscaping like what is common in the southwest. Low maintenance with low water needs and zero need for a lawnmower.
  4. It's the song of the summer.

  6. I guess that's why he didn't ask for advice on the legal end of it, just the ethical. ;)
  7. Sounds to me that it was more likely than not removed from public view by the admins if not deleted altogether. I saw that thread and thought that it wouldn't last long as that shop mentioned was NOT an Authorized Vendor and that post pretty easily could be construed as being an open advert.
  8. That is great damn casting.
  9. Saw that yesterday. My absolute favorite part was after Kerry's statement at the end and the offer to the General to chime in and his response.
  10. I have no issue with private sector unions. If they think it will work for them, they should have at it. They might run into a slight problem though. Striking work forces work best when in the context of skilled labor. Walmart is NOT skilled labor. If the entire store labor force struck, they could have new employees in place and the stores running as before in a couple weeks if not days. This is one of the major contributing factors to the almost total lack of unions in retail.
  11. I ran across this recently and I figured it would be useful around these parts. Though done cutely with anthropomorphic animal illustrations, it really cuts to the core of the poorly constructed bad arguments built on faulty logic common here and everywhere else on the interwebs. I've even made a few of them myself. https://bookofbadarguments.com/
  12. I have a long standing love of Converse All Stars, AKA "Chuck Taylors".
  13. Looks like the Chinese are using our early-mid 20th century play book. Provide weapons, material and political support to both sides for fun and profit.
  14.
  15. Anybody raise their hand yet?
  16. That's good that I have your permissin.I have an almost compulsive inability to ignore something in need of ridicule, and I appreciate your support of me in that endeavor. :D
  17. After living and working in some of the areas I have in Memphis, nothing fazes me anymore. I remember when I was in Utah and was told that the area of SLC we were driving through was the "hood" and I laughed thinking that it looked like Bartlett. What living in Memphis (and paying attention to the crime report maps) has really taught me is that it doesn't matter if you think you live in a "safe" area, crime happens everywhere. This goes for where ever you are, not just Memphis. There is no such thing as a "safe" place, crap happens everywhere so be prepared for it but don't let fear of it rule your life.
  18. Man, even the 'mos I know would dish out an ass whuppin' for that kinda talk.
  19. I too anxiously await the answer to see which logical fallacy will be used next while declaring that is is totally different than the exact same argument the Brady Bunch use in their efforts. At this point it is just plain funny.
  20. I can only say one thing about John McCain. Wait for it... Fuck that guy!
  21. What the hell is that nonsense you are talking? Why the hell would you put peanuts in a soda?
  22. The last time the wife and I went to Florida we stopped and bought some boiled peanuts from a roadside stand. I'll be honest, I don't get the allure at all. I found them to be just plain gross. Blech!
  23. This is quite a poor attempt to conflate the valid idea of a negative right to be free of action from the government to impede an individual's right of travel with the invalid idea of a positive right to be provided the means to travel. It is an extremely poorly constructed argument. You can do better than that, can't you?
