Million vet March at the WWII memorial Live Right NOW
Chucktshoes replied to ted's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Yep. They piled them up in front of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. -
There is, return charity completely to the private sector where it belongs. Government is wholly incapable of successfully engaging in charity. The correct definition of charity renders it as a synonym of love. Government cannot love, only individuals can love. Charity is far more than cutting a check to someone in need, it is becoming a part of their life and loving them back to wholeness. I think many folks like the idea of government welfare because it allows them to be self righteous and say they care for people in need without actually having to come face to face with those in need and give deeply and painfully from their own pockets to provide for others' lack.

Thank you tnguy, as you may have stated the view I hold better and more tactfully than I can. I won't make personal judgements against an individual as we must all make (and live with) our own choices in life. What I will say on the subject is this: Charity is a good and wonderful thing to be encouraged as it is beneficial to the giver and the receiver. The government taking at gunpoint from one person and giving it to another is not charity, it is legalized plunder and it is immoral on its face. If I don't have the right to use force to rob someone of the benefits of their industry, I can't vote to grant that right to the government to do it on my behalf.

My favorite image so far is this one of the demonstrators purportedly using the Barrycades to block off the park police and keep them at bay. -

Done. -
Hollywood only has like 10 original ideas from which everything is just a variation of a theme.

Technically, the one in 99 was a sequel, not a remake. The new one seems to hew pretty close to the original scene by scene from what I can tell from the previews. Plus it has Julianne Moore.

Starting on Monday and for the following two weeks Matthew Bracken will be placing 1 book from the "Enemies" trilogy for free in the kindle store for four days each week. . Monday the 14th-18th "Enemies Foreign and Domestic" will be available. On the 21s-24tht "Domestic Enemies: The Reconquista" will be available and on the 28th-31st "Foreign and Traitors" will be available. I highly recommend these books. Whether you view them as prophetic, or just thrilling fiction, they are well worth the read. *Fixed the typo in the title.*

I wonder, are there any NPS operated facilities close to Memphis? -
Oh, I know it would actually work. I was in aircraft maintenance when I was in the AF. Give me enough double bubble and f4 tape and I can fix damn near anything.
-
Slap some double bubble on it. It'll be aight.

Soooooo, we're still not allowed to hang the bastard yet, right? I'm just checking to make sure as I'm not really interested in the prick until we are.

Here's to hoping that the SCOTUS hears this case and kills the Lautenberg Amendment. -

I can hear the proper response in my head now, "Go fuck yourself."

Under advisement from my legal counsel, I will decline to post further in this thread on the grounds that in doing so I may incriminate myself. :D

Damn it.

I hold the same view in regards to the use of overwhelming force/violence to respond to violent aggression. Interestingly enough (to me) I can pinpoint the introduction of this theory into my thought processes. Reading Ender's internal monologue in the battle gym scene in "Ender's Game". As a kid who was bullied at the time, the concept clicked. It took a long time for me to physically be able to effectively apply the lessons learned, I stopped running and started fighting.

Best I can figure, the closest he came to making a bad decision was the amount of restraint he showed by not going all Carmageddon on the shitbags.

If I was on this list I would be pi$$ed

I didn't say they were culpable, I just don't have any sympathy for them. Just because a person may benefit from the misdeeds of others, does not necessarily mean they are guilty as well of the other party's actions. However, if something causes the guilty party to cease, even temporarily, those misdeeds and it causes the benefitting person to suffer because of that, oh well. Sometimes life sucks and I have my own problems to worry about.
