Starting on Monday and for the following two weeks Matthew Bracken will be placing 1 book from the "Enemies" trilogy for free in the kindle store for four days each week. . Monday the 14th-18th "Enemies Foreign and Domestic" will be available. On the 21s-24tht "Domestic Enemies: The Reconquista" will be available and on the 28th-31st "Foreign and Traitors" will be available. I highly recommend these books. Whether you view them as prophetic, or just thrilling fiction, they are well worth the read. *Fixed the typo in the title.*

I wonder, are there any NPS operated facilities close to Memphis? -
Oh, I know it would actually work. I was in aircraft maintenance when I was in the AF. Give me enough double bubble and f4 tape and I can fix damn near anything.
-
Slap some double bubble on it. It'll be aight.

Soooooo, we're still not allowed to hang the bastard yet, right? I'm just checking to make sure as I'm not really interested in the prick until we are.

US Supreme Court to hear Tennessee gun case

Here's to hoping that the SCOTUS hears this case and kills the Lautenberg Amendment. -
We should all strive to be more like Ford Prefect, he is one hoopy frood who really knows where his towel is at!

I can hear the proper response in my head now, "Go fuck yourself."

Under advisement from my legal counsel, I will decline to post further in this thread on the grounds that in doing so I may incriminate myself. :D

Damn it.

I hold the same view in regards to the use of overwhelming force/violence to respond to violent aggression. Interestingly enough (to me) I can pinpoint the introduction of this theory into my thought processes. Reading Ender's internal monologue in the battle gym scene in "Ender's Game". As a kid who was bullied at the time, the concept clicked. It took a long time for me to physically be able to effectively apply the lessons learned, I stopped running and started fighting.

Best I can figure, the closest he came to making a bad decision was the amount of restraint he showed by not going all Carmageddon on the shitbags.

If I was on this list I would be pi$$ed

I didn't say they were culpable, I just don't have any sympathy for them. Just because a person may benefit from the misdeeds of others, does not necessarily mean they are guilty as well of the other party's actions. However, if something causes the guilty party to cease, even temporarily, those misdeeds and it causes the benefitting person to suffer because of that, oh well. Sometimes life sucks and I have my own problems to worry about. -

A friend of mine posted an article on the Book of Face earlier today regarding the massive negative impact a shutdown would have on the D.C. local economy. This was my response. It pretty much encompasses my feelings regarding the effects of the shutdown across the wider economy as well. "I have a hard time finding any sympathy for the participants in a local economy dependent on legalized plunder. This is especially true when the danger faced is the temporary ceasing of activities by the entity engaged in larceny on their behalf." -
The Marine who was killed in a SWAT raid on his home. Piña County and other culpable parties just settled a wrongful death lawsuit with his widow for $3.4 million. This op-ed lays out some good points without declaring Guerena a saint. http://azstarnet.com/news/local/column/steller-let-s-learn-something-from-guerena-killing/article_d2079a62-f68c-5bdc-8b84-6e6eb60d7e87.html The wiki if a refresher is needed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jose_Guerena_shooting

Because as long as somebody, somewhere took a vote on it, it is perfectly kosher, right? -
These are questions that I think you're going to require the advice of somebody that's actually got a JD, not those of us on this board with an ID (Internet Doctorate.).

Two choices, ignorance or stupidity on the part of the ffl/employee. The instructions on the 4473 are pretty clear if the person filling out the ffl's portion actually reads them. I have worked in a gun shop, have completed plenty of 4473s and they are a pretty simple and straightforward form to fill out. If I seem a little harsh in my response, it is just that folks screwing up forms like that annoys the crap out of me. It isn't a difficult form to fill out, but if done wrong there is the possibility (no matter how small) of legal repercussions for either the ffl's or the customer and that is simply unacceptable.

A stripped lower is listed as a receiver, it is neither a rifle nor a pistol. Build it how you want.
