1.
Deputy Speaker McDaniel - “Every gang-banger in Memphis will end up packing. Can you imagine?” - NO $$$$ Sherlock. They already do. http://www.memphisflyer.com/JacksonBaker/archives/2014/04/10/key-gop-leader-prophesies-gun-carry-bill-will-be-deep-sixed
The real gold is in the comments. This one is my personal favorite.
2.
All done in 1934 because of gangland violence during the Prohibition Era. Once again, many thanks to Chicago for leading the way. - OS
Also (and more importantly) it helped keep a bunch of revenuers employed who weren't needed to chase after bootleggers anymore.
3. Go look in the Hive of Scum & Villiany and you will figure it out easily enough.
4.
Age? I owned a pistol when I was 18 in an apt complex in the ghhheeeetttoo. Wasn't legally allowed to leave my apartment with it. I did. I was breaking the law each time.Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
"When law and morality contradict each other, the citizen has the cruel alternative of either losing his moral sense or losing his respect for the law." 5. I missed out on the TGO lower due to outside issues, so I really am hoping to be a part of this one. I really like the grandad style, but will hopefully be in whatever is chosen. Put me down as a tentative 1.
6.
I'm not worried about the "blood in the streets" stuff. I am concerned about more businesses getting posted due to uneducated OCers' behavior. In my experience, gunowners banding together and threatening to boycott businesses gets mixed results.
While I can appreciate that concern for the inconveniences it would cause, at the end of the day I am still on the side of removing government from the equation as much as possible. Inconveniences < natural rights.
7.
Good point, but even with the patriot act by bush, Reagans machine gun ban and so forth no president has been more hostile to the constitution and our nation as Barack Hussein Obama.
Abraham Lincoln Theodore Roosevelt Woodrow Wilson Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Without these four presidents' actions while in office, Barack Obama would not have been possible. While their love of nation may be debated one way or another, their hostility to the Constitution is without doubt. So, who is more terrible, the one who does a thing or the ones who make it possible for a person to do that thing?
8.
Bingo. We'll just have to leave it up to individual virtue though. (Yeah, that'll go well...)
It works well enough in 30 states. The bearing of arms is an individual right. While it is important that one be well versed in the use of the arms they choose to bear, it is not place of the government to step in and compel the citizen to have training or jump through other hoops prior to exercising that natural right.
9. HAHA! I really should have known that. I can offer only two items in my defense. 1) I was looking at the map on my phone and it was really little. 2) While I have visited the eastern coast several times, I've never been further east in the state than Nashville. My bad.
10. I've joked repeatedly that Sig must have an entire department devoted to giving the ATF the finger. I'm not sure it's a joke anymore. I am seriously getting the impression that Sig has a hardon for the NFA and is going after the idiocy of the ATF's rulings pretty much full bore. When I refer to their clanking balls, I mean it. Sig is showing a hell of a lot more testicular fortitude than the NRA, GOA, SAF and other so called gun rights organizations by directly attacking the NFA. I got nothing but love for them and pray they have continued success against the ATF.
11. Sig has filed a lawsuit over the ATF decision regarding the muzzle brake on the MPX. The ATF classified the brake as a suppressor component and has determined that the MPX cannot be sold without a form 4. Sig and their clanking balls have decided not only to sue the ATF in an effort to force them to reverse their decision, but has also named Director B. Todd Jones directly as a defendent. This means that the ATF must respond within 21 days. I think I just became a Sig fanboy.    http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2014/04/foghorn/sig-sauer-sues-atf-calling-muzzle-brake-silencer/
12. Actually, the only TN border states that prohibit permitless OC are is GA and SC. GA requires a permit and SC prohibits all OC. So in reality you could cross into any of the other TN border states OCing without a permit legally and without issue.       Edited to add: DOH!
13. The fact that some will overstep and abuse a right is not sufficient justification for the government to exercise prior restraint on that right.
14. Season 6 is going to be the final season. The story is coming full circle and will end where it began, Raylan vs. Boyd. I will go ahead and place my prediction now that this struggle will destroy both of them.
15. I think I've seen that movie... :dirty:
16. Reason.com mentions TN in this article about knife rights.   http://reason.com/archives/2014/04/07/the-case-for-knife-rights
17. I almost wholly agree. Even better, why don't we pressure our legislators and other various and sundry elected officials to stop legislating and persecuting "crimes" that don't have a real victim.
18. Sometimes I OC, Sometimes I CC and sometimes I CC in name only.
19. I'll be honest, these guys make a few items that I REALLY want.   http://www.millerbrosblades.com/Items_For_Sale.html

21. This sort of thing was actually brought up during debate on the bill. IIRC, as stated during the debate and as has been opined here on the board the passage of this law would also legalize the carrying of a sword if one was so inclined. There is no separate statute that prohibits the carrying of a sword and no legal distinction in the TCA that says >x" = sword, < x" = knife. The current statute covered all of that with the prohibition of carrying anything >4" so with the removal of that prohibition it is all fair game. Like I mentioned before, I am pretty sure I know some Japanophile nerds that are going to strap on their katanas and go for a walk after July 1. Whether they should or not is a spearate question that I am not addressing, only that once this becomes law, they can.
22. Aww man! They got Pancake!
23. Looks like there are a bunch of volunteers for the drawdown in that bunch of mugshots.     http://clarksvillenow.com/local/twenty-six-arrested-in-clarksville-prostitution-sting/
24. These threads usually deliver better than this. Nobody's even been banned yet, but there's still time.
25.
Ummm... Isn't that an SBR since there is a vertical grip on the pistol?
Nope. OAL is >26". With a vfg it becomes a "firearm".
