  1. It's a shame really. His premise wasn't incorrect, he just couldn't discuss it like a reasonable person.
  2. I don't. I wear a nylon riggers style belt and I just loosen the belt enough to unbutton my jeans and drop trou. Then I spread my legs slightly so as to provide just a little tension and the belt holds the top of my pants just below the knee and above the calf. I don't even unholster. Everything stays in the same position it is on my waist. :D
  3. Or maybe they were just better at disguising their bias?
  4. This is beautiful.
  5. I'll be honest, I don't know how the show has treated all of that. I haven't seen it since the end of season 2.
  6. This. As has already been mentioned, I think, the media FINALLY has their racist mass murderer. The rhetoric has already been wound up to 11. Not helpful on any front that I can see.
  7. You've touched on why I think the handgun is being overlooked in this discussion. I think there is good reason why it is likely the primary bump-in-the-night home defense weapon for most of us. If I am able to stay stationary or mostly so, my AR is my preferred choice. If I have to move about the house and open doors or possibly corral my daughter, my M&P is the preferred option simply because it can be more easily used with one hand. The ability to use it one handed while using the other hand for doors/kid is why I eliminated the shotgun from the HD options entirely. Hell, I don't even own a shotgun as I just didn't have a use for it anymore. Another reason my M&P is my primary is simply because I spend the most time shooting it and it is the weapon I am most proficient with. All the firepower in the world won't make a bit of difference if I can't use it effectively.
  8. While I don't like "hate crime" laws as they criminalize thought, I have to admit that this is lining up to be a textbook definition of one.
  9.       This was my point above. You can't leave the gun somewhere by accident if you don't take it out in the first place. Having to remove the gun when you chop some butt wood makes forgetting it somewhere possible in the first place that wouldn't be if it stayed in its holster. I don't think folks give enough thought about what to do with their gun when they squeeze out a Lincoln when choosing their method of carry. The time to ask yourself what you will do with your gun when making a grunt sculpture is before you pick out your holster. I know I would find it difficult to pump a clump of dump out of my rump if I was worried about my gun while I was helping the groundhog find his shadow.     :poop:
  10. I think that John's being a Warg is the key here. He can move to his Direwolf and not lose any of himself in the process.
  11. This thread reminds me why I leave it in its holster still attached to my pants. Of course, my pants don't drop all the way to the floor either. I keep them up around the calves because I don't want my pants laying on a public restroom floor collecting who knows what. Ewwwwww!
  12. Ha! I spotted this one coming out the gate. Looks like I need to look up and find a really epic "I told you so" meme.
  13. Getting good now.
  14. Oh, this won't end well...
  15. This. I'll be wearing mine (and that's probably all  ) if I have to confront someone in my home, why shouldn't I expect them to be wearing some as well?
  16. I was about to seriously call shenanigans then, I realized you were talking about the LASD and not the LAPD. It really is a non-story as long as no citizens were hurt and were made whole for any resulting property damage.
  17. Paging Freedom Group...
  18. Not only that, but I read he fought on the Finnish side in the Winter War against Russia and hunted Nazis after the end of World War II.
  19. Great article that makes a solid argument that what this proposed rule is really about is outflanking a lawsuit from Defense Distributed. Cody Wilson has hooked up with Alan Gura and we all know Gura's track record against the .gov on gun related issues. I can imagine folks at State are keen to avoid getting their asses handed to them by Gura, again. http://thefederalist.com/2015/06/10/obamas-gun-speech-gag-order-is-retaliation-against-group-that-sued-the-govt-last-month/
  20. Is this a gen 1 or a gen 2 model? The gen 1s got pretty poor reviews due to the use of a solid detent instead of a roller ball detent. It apparently caused excessive wear on the upper and was prone to causing bloody noses when it wasn't too tight to engage.   So, update again down the road after using it a while. I'm interested to see if your opinion changes.
  21. I like the looks of that. Update this thread to let us know how you like it.
  22. I'd really rather folks keep their problems in middle and eastern TN. You know how it goes, folks move to a nice area and bring their problems from their old homes with them. For whatever reason they just can't seem to leave their issues behind them.
  23. Seconded.
  24. 1)That moment when you debut as a prettier woman than your ex wife. 2) I wonder if some of the more forceful reactions have been because on first look some folks' first thought was along the lines of "that's a great rack!" Gotta say, she's got a great surgeon.
