Mini-14s are pretty popular with a lot of LE agencies, especially out California way. They provide the same firepower as an AR, but they don't look as scary as an AR.

Inter-webs. That's why I didn't put anything down as a certainty.

I've seen a report that they have released one name of a potential suspect. That suspects name says that this is a Jihadi related attack.

Anyone else worried about attacks during Star Wars premier?

By the way, you're a jerk. Since I looked at mine and now know it is a little low, it's been bugging the crap out of me. I'm gonna have to take after it with a pin punch myself now. -
Nashville Mayor wasting no time...

Having run quite a few 4473s, I can say that OS is on the money (as usual) with the legalities here. -

Just stripped down my M&P9c and it looks exactly the same as yours. I've had this pistol for several years now and have had zero issues. So the pin position as it is does not affect function. I wouldn't stress about it. -

Nope. Not worried. I understand that statistically speaking I am more likely to get murdered by a cop than a terrorist. I'll save my fear mongering for something more likely. Don't know what that is yet. -
Here's a drink recipe for y'all. The SU-24: 4 oz Turkish coffee, 2 shots Raki. Float high-test Vodka on top, light it on fire, and drink hot.

If anybody is still wanting one, I bet they will be able to pick them up cheap now. The bottom has just fallen out of the secondary market.

According to other reports it appears the 72 virgins they are all getting are a bunch of hackers who call themselves Anonymous.

Go look at the Wiki for the Christian Identity movement. You will see the birthplace of the nonsense he is spewing.

This is straight up Christian Identity teaching. So I'll go ahead and ask the elephant in the room directly so we can know with whom we are really dealing with here. What white supremacist orgs are you currently or have in the past been a member of? You can deny the source of your words, but as you referenced earlier in relation to the president, we will know by the fruits. Your poisonous fruit makes what you are abundantly clear. If you would kindly take that crap somewhere else it would be much appreciated. You will not find fertile soil for those rotten seeds here.

Devil's advocate here. Considering how the Feds handle the ingress/egress of people through the national borders and we have free movement throughout the states (no internal border checks at state borders) how exactly is any governor going to prevent the the settlement of refugees in their state? While they may prevent the utilization of state resources to aid their assimilation into local communities, I don't see how they can actually prevent settlement. It all smacks of political posturing to me more than anything else. It makes the 'Murica types pump their fists and go "hell yeah!" but doesn't actually mean anything.

Concealed Carry Memphis Zoo
Chucktshoes replied to Bocephus's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I owe you an apology. After rereading the thread once the blood had simmered down a bit I realized that I misread your first post. I now see it was more of a general statement than the specific manner in which I read it. That caused me to conflate yours and Phil's position. While I still stand by my posts and the point I was making in them, I was wrong for directing them at you. I'm sorry for that. -

If you feel entitled to stir up a mess of trouble for someone else to deal with, I guess that tells me all I need to know. -
Concealed Carry Memphis Zoo
Chucktshoes replied to Bocephus's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Elitist? How so? Taking note of his location isn't a statement of support for arbitrary state borders. It's simply observing that he is located several hundred miles from Memphis and doesn't have any real skin in the game. Stirring the #### pot someplace you don't live and don't have to deal with the blowback of the fecal spray isn't being a freedom fighter. It's being an asshole. Work inside or outside the systems you have a stake in or choose to assist those that ask for your help. Don't take it upon yourself to take up a cause on someone else's behalf because you want to be the hero. What it all boils down to is pretty simple. You mind your business, I'll mind mine. I've carried (concealed) at the zoo for years without taking much note of the policy or the law. I made my decision knowing what the consequences of my choices could be and also knowing that if it went badly, I would be the one to deal with the fallout. I've said a few different way here, but it all comes around to the same thing. Don't take up causes or engage in actions where you don't bear the risks yourself. As it currently stands, the Memphis Zoo's banning of guns goes as far as a policy printed on their website and a generic "no weapons" bullet point on the rules sign near the entrance. There is no specific signage and no security screening to look for them. It simply isn't an issue and won't be until some douche canoe attention whore makes it one. Someone brought up Kwik in relation to this stuff earlier and where I can at least give him a little credit is that (even though he is a total douche canoe and I hate his tactics) he bore the risks for his actions. That's more than I can say for folks writing letters from hundreds of miles away to places they won't likely visit and potentially making a mess for others to clean up. If I seem to be taking this issue personally, I am. As I mentioned before I am a member at the Memphis Zoo and it is something my family and I are big supporters and lovers of. We are the ones who directly suffer from this sort of activity, so yes, it gets the blood boiling just a wee bit. -

You are entitled to your opinion. What you and Phil are not entitled to is to stir up a shitstorm where others have to deal with the fallout because you don't live here. That's isn't "fighting for your freedoms", it's a masturbatory stroking of one's own ego. Like I said before, leave this for folks who live here to take care of their own. If we are content with the status quo where we live, who are you to make it your business to tell us we are wrong and go about fixing it for us? Mind the shit in your yard, I'll mind the shit in mine. -
Concealed Carry Memphis Zoo
Chucktshoes replied to Bocephus's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Phil, your location lists you as living "somewhere in GA". I am a resident of Memphis and a contributing member (two levels above basic membership) of the zoo. I am asking you to put your stick away and leave this bear alone. You don't stand to actually suffer any inconvenience if it turns into a pissing contest. I DO. Currently it is an unenforced and unenforceable policy with no signage. I'm ok with leaving the status quo as is. If a local decides to engage this issue I will discuss with them tactics and why I feel the way I do, but at least they have some real skin in the game. As it stands now, you don't. To be blunt, you are simply an interloper, and an unwelcome one at that. Please walk away from this issue and leave it to those of us that live here to handle our own. -
