So, on a slightly related note, anybody wanna make bets on how long before I start having "paperwork issues" with my purchases? [emoji38]

*edited to add* the first shots fired were by the ATF and resulted in a blue on blue friendly fire caused injury. While I am a strong and vocal critic of the tactics and actions of many legitimate LE organizations, I don't wish the harm upon most officers as I do the jackboots of Burn All Toddlers First. That's because the BATF isn't in any way a legitimate LE agency. What happened in Ruby Ridge, Waco, and Fast & Furious aren't aberrations. They are only the most publicly known episodes in a pattern of behavior that goes back many decades. The wanna be Rambos over at F-troop have a long history of use of excessive violence, blank warrants, raids and imprisonment of folks over minor paperwork failures, just outright made up charges and general abuse of the public in the most sickening displays of government malfeasance. They exemplify everything that's wrong with and makes folks despise LE. When I reference Nuremberg defense not holding water, I mean it. Not just the way they enforce the laws, but the laws themselves are an immoral act of violence against the people. The Branch Davidians in Waco were as justified in their use of force in defense against the ATF as were the Jews in Warsaw ghetto uprising of 43. The ATF are our American Shutzstaffel.

82 men, women and children murdered over the suspicion of an unpaid $200 tax stamp for something that shouldn't be against the law in the first place. The Nuremberg defense doesn't hold water. The only honorable thing those four officers ever did in the employ of that organization was done that day when they got themselves killed. I imagine I am already skating on very thin ice at the moment with my comments so I think it is best if I stop now.

This is where I am at. Shit happens, we are all human and he could have taken the "that's why those things are a bad idea" track. Instead he staked out a position that calls his integrity into doubt. Never a good place to plant one's flag.

I really like mine. That said, they aren't exactly "hard use" items. The neck where the head screws onto the body is a known failure/break point when struck with force. So if you game at all, be mindful of that.

Customer gets into open carry dispute

Wholly immaterial to the situation and a specious argument at best. When one acts under the authority and color of law, one is obligated to treat each individual and situation on its own merits and act in a lawful manner. I don't care if you saw the most horrific crime in history 30 seconds ago, if emotionally you can't do your job justly and fairly, you need to go handle your shit until you can. I was a retail manager for 13 years and I expected my minimum wage cashiers to be able to treat everyone with kindness and respect. If they didn't, they got fired. Why should we expect any less of someone who has authority from the state to end someone's life on the thinnest of pretexts? -

And none of that gives the cop any right or authority to continue to harass someone who was not engaging in any illegal activity because he did not comply with a request he was under no legal obligation to comply with. I don't give a damn whose shiny badge you are wearing, when you make a demand of me that you don't have the authority to force me to comply with and I tell you to piss up a rope, guess what your options are? -

I know your point wasn't about the cop. You chose to ignore the fact that the cop was a jerk in initiating this confrontation and instead focused on the OCer being a jerk in responding to it. That's cool, I didn't. The fact that the OCer was acting like a jerk doesn't absolve the cop for acting like a jerk as well and vice versa. Like I said before, everybody is responsible for their own behavior. Always and without exception. -

The OCers may be trolling with a baited hook, but the officers are under no obligation to take that bait. Everyone involved is responsible for their own actions. That's what folks on both sides tend to miss. The OCer in the video is an asshole, and so is the cop using the power of his position to harass someone who's sole crime is being an asshole. There is no good guy in that video. -

Sans evidence to the contrary, it looks a lot like folks seeking reasons to be offended by the actions of others to me. Gee, that seems awfully familiar to me.

Common mistake. I worked for those bastards for seven years. I know them well, and hate them more.

Same people as who? Walgreens is not related to Walmart in any way. It was founded by Charles R. Walgreen in 1903. It is also a terrible company ran by terrible, terrible people.
