  1. That's gonna be a delayed Christmas present for my 5 year old daughter.
  2. There is a point missing from this equation with regard to who was considered "law abiding" and allowed to carry by police without undue hassle. It speaks to the fundamental intent of bans on carry that appeared throughout the South during the Reconstruction era. An honest accounting of these laws is impossible to make if one doesn't also make note of the racist origins of them. Folks were generally considered law abiding if they were white. Persons of color were almost uniformly excluded from that category. It wasn't until after the laws began to be applied more uniformly that efforts were made to provide an avenue for legal carry.
  3. I'lol be perfectly honest, I don't know for sure.
  4. This is where I am at. I ask the questions that I am legally required to (are you a resident, are you a prohibited person) and then I conduct the exchange and we go about our ways.
  5. I thought something was different.
  6. Dave's on point. TICS has a high rate of denial. Just need to file the appeal and possibly contact the court where your misdemeanor was adjudicated for records of its final dispensation. That is usually the piece of info that's missing and holding up the works. That thread Dave linked has all that info in detail.
  7. My Para FAL wasn't built by him, but it was worked over and refinished there. You have good reason to be excited.
  8. Paint my name blue. Payment sent.
  9. Dave and Mike hit the both sides of the issue here. The NFA suppresses not just ease of acquisition but also the desire to even purchase suppressors in the first place. (The principle of that $200 stamp has kept me from buying.) That keeps the market small, prices high and the innovators out. How many John M. Brownings have been stopped over the last 8 decades or so because of the legal issues around being able to tinker in the garage? The removal of suppressors from the NFA will result in an explosion of demand, innovation and manufacturers.
  10. Its format is also based on Studs Terkel's "The Good War" which is an oral history of WWII. Excellent stuff.
  11. Correct. The book is actually good.
  12. I see they went with the Betamax of rail attachment systems. Dollars to donuts the next iteration has M-Lok.
  13. Whiskey. Tango. Foxtrot. Over.
  14. Mr. Poopybutthole of course!
  15. Always happy to do my part.
  16. Just finished this on Netflix and holy crap what an excellent film. It tells the story of an Irish unit deployed (and hung out to dry) on a UN peacekeeping mission during the Congo Crisis of 1961. It also has lots of wonderful FAL goodness.
  17. I think maybe it is just a matter of too many, too quickly causing a bit of buyers fatigue. If you table this one and come back around with it in 6 months to a year, you might find that the demand has resurfaced. It's also getting close enough to Christmas that discretionary funds may be getting a little tight. I do want this one, but I don't think a little breathing room would hurt anyone. Just my .02. Worth exactly what you paid for them.
  18. Thanks, bruh. It's nice to have a working TGO again. You've definitely earned some nice single malt.
  19. Looks like Back to the Future II may have only been off by a year.
  20. I'm about 80% certain that's the TGO sticker.
  21. Yes, you do. You really do.
  22. Three boxes of .308 MS1 sling 4lbs of tannerite all to go with my previously named acquisition which I was able to pick up today. My FAL.
  23. I wish. I really feel robbed on that point. "Don't do acid!" they said. "You'll have flashbacks!" they said. But have I ever gotten a flashback? Nooooooooo. I think they were just full of it. I don't know anybody who has ever experienced a flashback like they used to say would happen in all those Nancy Reagan just say no classes. Lyin' jerks.
