  1. Well, today I bought a couple of optics. Paid for my NF NXS 3.5-15x50 MILR for my Montana Rifle also committed to buying that NF NXS 1-4x24 from bud for my FAL Also picked up a Streamlight TLR1 HL might as well add in that TGO Godfather from the classifieds, and the Dark Angel since they are both TGO knives. (I think the Les George is the only one I am missing, unless there is one I have forgotten.)
  2. Therein lies the rub.
  3. Hell with it, I'm in for my normal number 10
  4. I'm glad that you have the opportunity to think long term.
  5. Well, that's what you get when you combine speech to text and a lack of proofreading before posting. I promise not to tell you what else I was doing at the time that I was making that post.
  6. I'm going to laugh my ass off if the Preds pull this out. There are two reasons why. One, because I have Canadian friends and what in the hell is wrong with them that they let a team from Tennessee win? Hockey is like their national sport. Too, I will laugh because a hockey team brought a championship home to Tennessee with their weird foreign stores before either our football team or our basketball game were able to accomplish that. 7. I'm a big fan of Imgur. Upload them there, copy link, then paste here and the software will do the rest.
  8. I don't think my vote is going to be a big surprise to anyone. I have voiced my dislike of the new style ad system multiple times. That said, I am generally a buyer, and I think my vote should be weighted a little less than those of the frequent sellers. If you could make the emails work again for those who use them and somehow figure out how to combine the ads and the discussion thread into a single item, my complaints would go away.
  9. There are a lot, and I mean a lot, of formerly regular voices here that I miss seeing around. I'm hopeful that we can diversify the mix around these parts a bit once again.
  10. Especially so in Memphis where we like to accessorize the city with Egyptian related items since we are named after a city in Egypt.
  11. That's the new statue that they erected after the obelisk was blown down by Hurricane Elvis in 2003. They moved the repaired obelisk to a less prominent spot in the park. They also added a plaque to it that said "Erected in 1954" as a disclaimer as I think they were embarrassed a bit by its proclamation of Tom Lee as "A Very Worthy Negro."
  12. Unfortunately, I do not. With my job keeping me away from home so much, I just haven't had the time to learn how to do it.
  13. I couldn't tell you. It's been a few years since I've been down there.
  14. It toppled and shattered the obelisk honoring Tom Lee downtown in Tom Lee Park.
  15. That's my read of the situation as well. It makes me a little sad too because I had a meme for the political funnies thread that is sooooo good.
  16. That made me happy to see the Moz lay it down like that.
  17. These are good ideas. In addition, I think the section might need an additional moderator or two if it is brought back. I would say some high volume users who are on a lot as it would take heavy oversight. Maybe a couple of folks who are of opposing political ideologies so that they can work as a team to help provide balance and prevent the appearance of bias. Just typing that out really makes me feel for y'all as it sounds like more work than it is worth.
  18. There are certain cues in how he phrased the OP that says he doesn't do that anymore anyways. Speaking of which, Dude, how'd it go?
  19. I remember last time politics got too heated around these parts it was hidden from new content as the "Hive of scum and villainy" or something like that. That might not be a terrible option again to keep it from taking over the new content feed.
  20. Yes she is. The pictures don't do her justice.
  21. "Never half ass two things. Whole ass one thing." Ron Swanson I put a lot of research into my choices here. I also sought out the advice of a small group of friends of mine, some of whom live and hunt out west. I cant wait to find out how well she shoots as well. Unfortunately it's not gonna be for at least a month or more before I get the chance to break her in.
  22. That looks real nice. I have an HSP WML and like their products overall.
  23. I'm a city kid. Never been hunting in my life. Just not part of my upbringing. Consequently, my intro to guns was in the military and then the tactical/EBR era. Well, I've been thinking about getting a bolt action rifle for a minute and @robtattoo's for sale thread on that custom 280AI was the catalyst for me to get off my duff and get to it. (I came very close to getting it, but that weirdo caliber scared me off.) So after a little research I bought myself a Montana Rifle Company ASR in 308. It's got the absolute best trigger I have ever felt. It doesn't feel like it moves. It just breaks at 3#. It's nuts. The bolt design of the Model 1999 is a mixture of the Model 70 and the Mauser. She's a beautiful piece of work. I'm getting a killer discount on the optic from a friend of mine, but it's going to take a few weeks for that to come in. It's going to get a Nightforce NSX 3.5-15x50 MILR. My intent is to build a rifle that will forever be able to exceed my abilities. Here is the link to image gallery.
  24. I'll start that thread, and I have to give a nod to robtattoo. It was his ad for that rifle in that oddball 280 AI that was the catalyst for my desire to go ahead get off my ass and pick up a hunting rifle. I really hope he is able to offload that rifle.
