California 'road rage' results in car crash
Chucktshoes replied to Randall53's topic in General Chat
Not saying you did and not disagreeing with your prediction on the charges. I've just seen this all over social media and a metric crap ton of folks apparently don't understand basic physics. -
California 'road rage' results in car crash
Chucktshoes replied to Randall53's topic in General Chat
What the rider did was dumb, very dumb, but he didn't cause the crash. The driver of the car swerved their vehicle at the rider and that is what was the event that initiated the wreck. -
Post the last firearm related thing you bought!
Chucktshoes replied to TGO David's topic in General Chat
I mentioned that I had bought/committed to buying these before, but I now have them both in hand. Both are Nightforce NXS scopes. The small one is a 1-4x24 that I bought from bud (thanks again!) the larger one is a 3.5-15x50. The glass is phenomenally clear, like whoah! I can't wait to get them mounted and start using them. -
Lenoir City double murder-shooter is a cop
Chucktshoes replied to Erik88's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Pretty sure that's date of birth. -
"Sources say a member of Joint Task Force 2 killed an Islamic State insurgent with a McMillan TAC-50 sniper rifle while firing from a high-rise during an operation that took place within the last month in Iraq. It took under 10 seconds to hit the target." I wonder which would have got there first. The bullet or the faint echo of "sorry"

I held off off on watching the dashcam video as long as I could because quite simply, I've seen enough videos of cops executing people. I just don't have the stomach to watch people die anymore. But then I did, and I cried. Like, for real, legit cried. I cried for all of the reasons Trevor Noah breaks down in this video. I cried because I am emotionally exhausted from seeing citizens murdered by the state's agents with no accountability. This has got to change. If it doesn't, you will see more and more incidents like what happened in Dallas. That's not an endorsement, but a statement of fact.

Maybe this makes me a jerk, (I hope that isn't anyone's relative) and I know that it wasn't common in that era, but are we sure that's a natural born woman? I'm not so sure...

TGO Protech Dark Angel Official Thread

I'm going to state for the record that because of revenue snafus, I will be forced to wait until 6/30 to send payment. But rest assured that I will send it! -
Well, as many of y'all may have seen, a verdict was handed down the other day in this case. I did my best to stay away from the politics of it last time, but I want to state for the record that I am extremely upset at the outcome of this trial. I believe it to be yet another reminder that we have a legal system instead of a justice system. Philando Castille did not receive any justice in this matter, posthumous or otherwise. That said, that's not the reason I am reviving this thread. I want to post Colion Noir's open letter on the subject. My hope is that as a name many of y'all are familiar with, and hopefully whose work and voice y'all value, his words may find some resonance where others may find resistance because of who they are

http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2017/06/20/breaking-us-banned-vepr-due-sanctions-looks-like/ It's a good think Hillary didn't get elected, otherwise we'd still be at Russia....oh wait...

The more I think about this, the more I realize that The Left is just stepping up and using the 2nd Amendment for what The Right have been saying it is for all along. Can't say I'm condoning it, but the dude actually took up arms against what he thought to be a tyrannical government. One little Sanders supporter put every single one of the so-called "III%'ers" to shame.

Right?! This target is seriously making me miss the old place where I could shoot in the backyard. I might have to pick one up anyways. I'm sure I can find someplace to along lead nearby. -
Even though this is the second instance of violence perpetrated by fan of Bernie Sanders over the last few weeks I will maintain a bit of ideological consistency. The only one responsible for the happenings today is the person who committed them. No public figure, no matter how aggressive their rhetoric, is responsible for the actions of this man. He and he alone is responsible for what he did.

In traditional Southern fashion, Nashville will erect statues of the participants and act like they won for the next 150 years #stanleycup #penguins #predators

This is correct and a point I have been attempting to make with the lefties on Vox.

Well, they will probably Negotiate Rights Away for a couple of things under the guise of it being a pro-gun bill. You know, like they just did here in TN with that bill that just passed that I kept getting emails about being so great. You know, the one that just made the municipal buildings in small counties like mine off limits. Then in a few years they'll ask for money to try and get the law changed back when their work ####ed it up in the first place.

HCP as an alternative to TICS/NICS

It's small comfort, but comfort nonetheless, when I see another chaffing at the chains and shackles we all wear. -
That sounds like experience speaking.

Carrying in Puerto Rico?
Chucktshoes replied to GlockSpock's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
This was my buddy's response. "No. ####ing. Clue. Never looked into it, and never really felt like i needed one there. I should add... Probably not worth it trying to #### with the Puerto Rican bureaucracy. If there's some sort of legal framework to get him to carry his blaster, at best it will take forever to navigate, with no one probably willing to help a gringo carry a gun in what they view as their country. At worst it'll still take forever just to be told no. My advice would be don't worry about it. Most of the island is probably safer than wherever he lives currently, and what violent crime that does exist generally isn't targeted at tourists, as it's a sure fire way to get the police all up in their ####." -
The loading gate on the 1873 is on the right side of the rifle. That image has it on the left.
