It’s not an SBR until you put your Glock in it. -

I believe these were originally developed/marketed to be used with a brace. If you put a stock on it, then it’s an SBR and all NFA rules apply. -

We apparently missed this thread when we went through and locked all of his for sale threads once he was given the boot. Apologies from management. -
I’ll be praying for you and your family.

I used to work for AOL when I got out of the AF.

I was referencing this very book in my post when I mentioned the body keeping score. From my non-professional perspective it’s an amazing resource for learning how to recognize and process trauma responses that we don’t even know are trauma related. I recommend it to all of y’all.

This is one of the few days a week I get to be home and hold my kids. I take all the advantage of it I can. I don’t know what prompted this post, but I’m praying for you in this moment. When and if you need or wish to speak, there are resources here for you.

I like Chuck Taylors. Don’t wear them much anymore because old man feet don’t like shoes with zero support, but I got one pair I still break out occasionally. When I first joined I actually used Chuck Taylor, but then I discovered there was a fairly well known firearms trainer by that name so I changed it.

To second what Macgyver said, don’t be so quick to dismiss the idea that you might benefit from at the very least a visit or two with a therapist to debrief. Trauma isn’t a competition and just because someone else was more directly or horrifically affected doesn’t mean that you aren’t allowed to experience or process it in your own way. Even if only as a prophylactic measure, I’d seek out some professional outlet as you’d be surprised how your body might keep score in ways that your brain will dismiss or suppress. I suspect @Luckyforwardmight concur on that point.

You ain’t the only one.

Bellingcat receives significant funding from organizations that are fronts for US/UK/EU intelligence agencies. Just putting that out there.

I just finished the very last episode. That was, Man, I don’t even have the words to describe the journey that was. And it was heartbreaking and at the same time there’s nuggets of real joy and hopefulness involved in there. Now, personally, I have been disconnected from the church since not long after I started driving truck. The schedule does not lend itself to developing or maintaining a solid relational community with a congregation. I will say that this podcast definitely added more fuel to the fire that’s been growing inside me as of late to put in the work and make the changes necessary to get myself and my family back into a church community. Kind of ironic in some respects, considering how many hours I just spent listening to the damage and destruction done to such a large group of people in the name of God by a very broken man.

It really is. Never made that connection before, but it’s a perfect analogy.

Nah. I’ve been to plenty across the country. I’m well familiar with the immaculate condition of them. They’re that way in every single one I’ve ever visited. They’re not allowed to decay. Every location across the country is run at the same standard.

Didn’t use them.

I’ve been one since I was a teenager. It prepared me well for life as a truck driver. In other words y’all gave me a hankering so I braved the hell that is the 310 exit off of 75 in Adairsville, GA just so I could walk across the street to the Buccees here.

I lived in California for a while and have spent a lot of time out west. Had In N Out at multiple locations. Aggressively mediocre.

Y’all missing out on one of the best breakfast foods ever. The jalapeño cheese kolache.

I just listened to the first bonus episode on Joshua Harris. I don’t have any connection to him or his work, but something about that episode just really resonated with me. I’m not sure exactly what it’s poking at, but oof it’s got my insides stirred up.

The media demand for white supremacy is so high that like the construction industry before it, those jobs are now being outsourced to Mexicans as well.

I binged the first 5 episodes today on the drive up to Chicago today. Man this is an extremely well done and engaging listen. Having been in a plant (not Acts 29 affiliated) at the peak of the Mark Driscoll/Mars Hill phenomenon in the mid-00s/early 10s I remember it being a very big thing. My pastor at the time was fairly critical of Driscoll’s personal style but was friendly with the pastors of the Acts 29 plants in the area. I myself admired what it appeared was going on with Mars Hill from the outside. The rock star vibe was very real and very attractive to a newer Christian like myself at the time. All that to say, I’ve got a measure of personal attachment to the subject matter and have gotten sucked in immediately.

Yeah, you can always count on TMC to come up with killer musical choices. I’m looking forward to seeing this season in print as a book. I re-listened to season 1 a while back. I figure I’d go through season 2 again once we get close to 3.
