Because he stated something that was a subjective opinion as an objective fact. I adjusted it to reflect as such.

An interpretation of the situation that you're more than free to have. Just as I am free to interpret it in a very different matter. The only objective facts are that the players are engaging in an action and have stated the reasons for engaging in said action. After that it's all subjective, including any perceived disrespect.

Adjusted for accuracy's sake, but overall a correct assessment.

That's counter to the ability of folks to get outraged over this. Every time black folks have tried to speak up and protest about the need for police reform they've been told to do it differently. And now that some are using their platform to engage in a quiet, peaceful, nonviolent protest, it's being twisted into a nonsensical claim it is disrespectful to troops. I mean, I wish folks would just be honest and say what they really are thinking. "Shut up monkeys and entertain me. You're supposed to be dancing, not thinking!"

I just thought of a total upside to so many white folks getting pissed at the NFL over this. Maybe the fervor for spending tax payer dollars on new stadiums will come to an end. That'd be good for everybody.

I've made it through 3 episodes so far and can't agree with this statement enough. The two overwhelming emotions are sadness and anger.

Please tell me you're not serious. If you are, then you failed to learn any of the lessons that the end of prohibition taught us. I mean, when was the last time that Anheuser-Busch and Coors had their employees get into a shoot out over who controlled what territory for distribution? Will legalization end the instances of when the addict gets high/drunk and beats his wife? No. But prohibition doesn't stop that either. Will legalization end the campaigns of terror waged by large well-funded criminal organizations to control distribution and territory? If the way the end of prohibition brought the gangster era of the 1920s to a screeching halt is any clue, then the answer is absolutely yes it will. Legalization won't solve every problem, but it will greatly reduce the harm and funding of large criminal organizations that make the trade of narcotics so deadly. But just like the end of prohibition, the gangsters will find another way to wage their campaigns of terror on the citizenry, just like they did last time when they enacted the 34 NFA.

I've said it before, I'll say it again as many times as it takes. If you really want to do something effective about drug use/abuse then you will stop treating a health issue as a criminal one. I know it will be totally counterintuitive, especially to some of the LE types, but the true path forward is legalization.

What's my best "bang" for the buck in an air rifle?
Chucktshoes replied to Raoul's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
My 6yo daughter just got a Daisy Red Ryder for her birthday. I got to say that there's no better bang for my particular buck. -
It's more of a comment on the general state of affairs than this particular article.

Well, one is not a legitimate news source and the other appears to be an investing blog.

I don't think this is a surprise to anyone. At least it shouldn't be.

That's a lot to chew on, and worthy of the time it takes to reflect on it.

"This independent testing reveals that these industry standards may no longer be adequate for modern handgun design. These tests were largely developed to prove steel-framed, hammer-fired handguns. Today the polymer-framed, striker-fired pistol is standard for the majority of shooters public and private." The last paragraph of the article really sums it it for me. Accidents happen, guns get dropped. The standard tests weren't designed for the type of guns that most folks carry. They operate, and fail, differently. A gap in safety has been found and an opportunity to improve the designs has arisen. While much hullabaloo is being made over it, ulitimately I view this as a good thing.

I don't have anything in this size range. It just jumped up to the top of the list for me. -

The idea that the Llama is the progenitor of the Kimber is hilariously fitting. -

I would imagine that an Appleseed event might not be a bad idea on several fronts. First of all, simply for the training. Second it seems like a good place to network with the instructors who are likely local and can help him find the local competitions/events/teams that would fit the bill for what he needs.
