  1. I’m not much into podcasts. I’m still very much a music guy. I was never into talk radio either. That said, there is the occasional podcast that I find really interesting. It’s just gotta be the right mix of subject and folks behind the mic.
  2. Thank you sir. Appreciate it.
  3. When is the payment deadline? Needing to know as I shift funds around for different projects.
  4. I like it.
  5. To purchase from an FFL (licensed dealer) federal law requires the buyer to be 21. If buying from a private party, it is legal in TN to purchase and possess at 18.
  6. A wicked awesome gun and a firefly reference? This thread is full of win only two posts in.
  7. If you cook to get her, you gotta keep cooking to keep her.
  8. OK, that was funny. Now back to the subject at hand, I have never actually golfed a round, I’ve only been to a driving range a few times and whacked out a couple of balls. It is pretty cool when you get some real good distance on one.
  9. February 16, 2018 FBI Statement on the Shooting in Parkland, Florida On January 5, 2018, a person close to Nikolas Cruz contacted the FBI’s Public Access Line (PAL) tipline to report concerns about him. The caller provided information about Cruz’s gun ownership, desire to kill people, erratic behavior, and disturbing social media posts, as well as the potential of him conducting a school shooting. Under established protocols, the information provided by the caller should have been assessed as a potential threat to life. The information then should have been forwarded to the FBI Miami Field Office, where appropriate investigative steps would have been taken. We have determined that these protocols were not followed for the information received by the PAL on January 5. The information was not provided to the Miami Field Office, and no further investigation was conducted at that time. FBI Director Christopher Wray said: “We are still investigating the facts. I am committed to getting to the bottom of what happened in this particular matter, as well as reviewing our processes for responding to information that we receive from the public. It’s up to all Americans to be vigilant, and when members of the public contact us with concerns, we must act properly and quickly. “We have spoken with victims and families, and deeply regret the additional pain this causes all those affected by this horrific tragedy. All of the men and women of the FBI are dedicated to keeping the American people safe, and are relentlessly committed to improving all that we do and how we do it.”
  10. What he said.
  11. Go to ‘my account’ and ‘manage followed content’ and you should be able to unfollow the Swamp there. My bad. Misread your post. Can’t provide an answer to that question.
  12. The fbi had been alerted to him last year. https://www.buzzfeed.com/briannasacks/the-fbi-was-warned-about-a-school-shooting-threat-from
  13. If it would end mass shootings 100%, I would give up all my semi-auto guns. It won’t though. In addition, our government has neither the ability nor the authority to make that happen. Our society makes folks emotionally, mentally, and physically ill. When you combine that with easy access to guns, you have us in the current situation of monthly headlines like this. There may be no way to completely rid ourselves of the evil that resides in man, but instead of even trying we as a culture nurture and grow that evil until it always does the inevitable.
  14. No bueno.
  15. These sorts of mass shootings are a relatively recent phenomenon and even though a semi-auto ban most likely would have a downward effect on casualty numbers, it would still be a miniscule amount of the total annual number of gun deaths. I also can’t support any sort of action that penalizes the whole for the actions of the individual. The guns aren’t the problem though. They don’t cause the shootings to happen. Semi-auto and even full auto guns were much more accessible in years past and we didn’t have these types of shootings. Our society is sick and that sickness is causing our children to have these types of psychotic breaks. I can see the problem, but I don’t know how to fix it. What’s the solution? How do we heal something so fundamentally broken?
  16. I’d say it’s a damn good fit.
  17. Yep. The Wickard decision really screwed all of us and set the stage for near limitless expansion of government regulatory authority.
  18. Quick answer is no. The only avenue is to have SCOTUS declare the carry of firearms outside of the home as a right and incorporate that against the states.
  19. I missed the part about you using it at the hospital. If I’m using valet it’s likely a night out at a swanky restaurant or hotel. So I feel obligated to tip a bit higher.
  20. I’ve visited all 48 contiguous since I started driving and keeping abreast of the ins and outs of each state is far more tolerable than the risk of getting the option to carry closed out altogether.
  21. My standard base is also a fiver.
  22. This is the same problem I have with the idea of fed gov mandated national reciprocity. If you give the Feds control of carry, you’re not going to like where it leads. It ain’t the camel’s nose getting up under the tent, but a different and much less pleasant appendage entirely.
  23. Yep just as I figured. Their problems with it aren’t my problems with it. Their problems are mainly drivel.
  24. Pakistan has become a textiles manufacturing powerhouse along with Vietnam. Chinese labor got too expensive to produce textile goods at a price that American consumers would pay. While I understand why one would experience discomfort at buying Pakistani made goods, trust me, it’s a good thing. Nothing has a moderating influence on the proliferation of extremist thought than a strong, comfortable middle class intent on maintaining their way of life.
