  1. @Grunt67 first of all, I am glad you have decided to return. I did and still do believe that you do provide (and hopefully receive) value in this community. I stand by the call I made. Your posts in that thread were unacceptable. Where I did err was not addressing the subject privately. Not because it should always be handled so, but because in retrospect I believe it would have better served you and the community as a whole to do so. It would have avoided the ugliness then and prevented the existence of this thread altogether. For that I apologize. With the view of not making the same mistake twice, if you would like to discuss the circumstances of the prior incident, please PM me and I will be happy to discuss it with you.
  2. Besides the political end that David mentions, underneath this is something bigger that the article misses on. They sort of allude to this letting the cat out of the bag as a 'threat' but what they might be missing is this isn't a game changer for us, it's a game changer for the world. We already have ready and steady access to firearms of high quality at a reasonable price. Subjugated people have just took a step forward in being able to protect themselves. In ten years, maybe twenty, the printing materials will only get better. Like cell phones, this stuff will spread far and wide. In fifteen years you might see 3d printers doing yeoman's work by generator power in the African bush. If everyone has at least the basic ability of self protection, the odds of your neighbor hacking up your family with a machete because they are from the wrong tribe goes way down. Corrupt and violent regimes may soon all have to worry that every citizen is the next Gavrilo Princip.
  3. Once you look past the fear mongering of the author, you can get a better idea of what’s being accomplished here and how big of a game changer it has the possibility of being not just in the US, but worldwide https://www.wired.com/story/a-landmark-legal-shift-opens-pandoras-box-for-diy-guns/
  4. On the subject of Snow Mexicans crossing the border.
  5. Nope.
  6. No, that’s about it. Mine spends as much time off as it does on.
  7. You got to watch out for those Snow Mexicans, they’re a crafty bunch of hosers, eh.
  8. She’s purdy, that’s for sure.
  9. Buddy of mine bought the 40th anniversary model they put out earlier this year. Loves it. It’s a great boat at a helluva price.
  10. I always liked it for tracers and incendiary rounds.
  11. As promised, the first video where @56FordGuy and I take a look at and go over plans for the Scout.
  12. Mea culpa and all that, I didn’t realize that it had already been done for Gorsuch. My bad.
  13. If it is held up, I fully expect the GOP to invoke Harry Reid and exercise the nuclear option.
  14. They’re good looking pickups. It’s a shame that International/Navistar went to hell. They used to make some great stuff.
  15. Updates will come, but they will be slow. I may have a Scout, but a big pile of money I don’t.
  16. Snark gets snarknin return, but a serious post gets serious treatment. I will reiterate encouragement to listen to the podcast with an open and empathetic mind. It will give the context to the conversation in this thread that you are missing.
  17. If you’re just going to stand to the side and make snarky comments, at least put a little effort into it. That was a very low energy attempt.
  18. Yeah, that is a bit of a known problem.
  19. If any of y’all haven’t taken the time to listen to this excellent episode of the podcast, I’m bumping this thread up to highly encourage you to do so. When you do so, set aside your defenses and listen with an open mind. Sometimes when we hear a criticism of something or someone we like, we can throw up our mental walls and not really hear what the other person is saying. In this podcast Tiffany and Aqil gave us the opportunity to understand that while some of the NRA’s messaging may be speaking to us, it may not be speaking to the best parts of us. In addition, what it might be telling folks who come from a different background is that they’re not welcome. If you don’t think that’s not the message being sent, I implore you to pay special attention to the part of the discussion where the discussion turns to the Dana Loesch “clenched fist” ad. Don’t listen with a mind to develop a rebuttal, but a mind to put yourself in the shoes of another and see things from their perspective. See that it isn’t an attack. See that this is an opportunity. Its an opportunity to ask those who are already here despite being told they aren’t welcome how we can tailor our message to bring more folks into the fold. It’s an opportunity to learn how to walk the walk of the 2A is for everybody instead of just saying it while our firmly keeping a dog whistle in our clenched fist.
  20. Like I said, I like them, I use them and I will almost certainly install them. It’s just the existence of the law itself that engenders the urge to take the less smart route me do without.
