  1. In a completely different book than the one that talked about chopping off hands as a means to handle petty crime. For that matter, that bit you mentioned was in a way earlier chapter. It was well before the real hero showed up to teach really important lessons about forgiveness and mercy. I’m a big fan of that book, especially the second half. The other one with the hand chopping, not so much.
  2. If you want a nice easy answer, I don’t have one. Your question is essentially one that asks how to fix our culture and that’s a very complex question. I find that simple answers to complex problems are seldom as useful as they first appear. I do agree with you that our society would be better off if folks were in general of a more Godly focus, no doubt about. That said, I’m not going to run to His opposite number to fix problems caused by that state of affairs.
  3. I’m not a fan of them either. What I am a fan of is proportionality, ensuring that the punishment fits the crime. Thankfully the founders were of the same mind and passed the 8th amendment to prevent that sort of nonsense.
  4. Didn’t realize you were a fan of sharia law.
  5. @1911alltheway is a very talented leather worker, I bet he can take care of you.
  6. The FAL aka “the right arm of the free world” was adopted as the primary battle rifle of over 90 nations around the world. We should have adopted it in the US and would have if not for the actions of one man. Instead we got stuck with the M-14. As to the relationship between the FAL and the BHP in this context, the Rhodesian military used the BHP alongside the FAL. How that relates is that I referenced their recruitment slogan. https://i.imgur.com/941vI5P.jpg
  7. Very true. This is a fair point. My FAL is a DSArms in para config. None of that stops me from rocking the short shorts though.
  8. It’s a necessary companion to the FAL if I want to be a man amongst men.
  9. The NRA is claiming that NY is exerting pressure on insurance carriers and banks not to do any business with the NRA at all.
  10. Is it good attention? My FAL needs a friend.
  11. You missed what was actually being done just as completely as the libs you love to rail against.
  12. I don’t give a damn what politicians on either side of the aisle think about the subject. My interest in it is much larger than their petty squabbles. I’m also not convinced that the attempts by the government to squash the work of DD and others like them, nor the settlement, was partisan in nature. This technology has the potential to be very dangerous to those who seek to hold power over others, regardless of their geographic location or political views Mike, you’re so fixated on partisan hackery. There’s a lot more going on than Democrats vs Republicans.
  13. That is true, but like any new technology, it is advancing rapidly and market forces will bring the price down substantially and fairly quickly. Look at the price of any PC now and compare it to prices for comparably situated systems 5, 10, and 20 years ago. Massive price differences. I bought my first PC in 1997 and a low end system ran me almost $2k. A low end laptop is all of $300 now 3D printing is about a lot more than just guns, and the ability to manufacture a firearm yourself is about a lot more than just 3D printing Now, as far as the difference between the two examples you listed, I can say that it takes much less physical skill with tools to use a 3D printer. My skillset would probably prevent me from producing a useable firearm from an 80% lower. I also most likely couldn’t produce a functional firearm if I had to create the CAD file myself. But I could if all I had to do was download the file that someone else created and fed it into the computer and let the printer do it’s thing. The tech isn’t quite there yet, but it will be much faster if the government is kept out of the way.
  14. Not all 3d printing is plastic.
  15. Keep that mess on your side of the state. Thank you very much.
  16. Yeah, I don’t really care about this idiot, but I can’t stand Sasha Baron Cohen.
  17. You’re missing out. Fat is flavor.
  18. Depending on the neighborhood one lives in....
  19. I miss being able to shoot in the backyard. It definitely put a crimp on how much I shoot when I lost that ability.
