I’m not TGODavid, that’s for sure. The entire gun was rust blued. It’s got a gorgeous satin shine to it. It’s a different look from a standard hot blue process Here’s a couple more pics, maybe they’ll show the finish off a bit better.

I’ve mentioned elsewhere that I bought a Browning HiPower that I was planning on fancying up. As a reminder, this is where she started out. Just a standard, MkIII produced in 1990 for commercial sale. Heres what she looks like today now that she’s back from my gunsmith. She’s had new sights (tritium front, blacked out rear), new hammer, sear, sear lever, trigger job, new grips, all new springs and various internal parts replaced. Original painted finish stripped off, polished and rust blued. She’s soooo much prettier in person than these pics show.

RANGE USA Closed up shop in the middle of the night
Chucktshoes replied to SonnyCrockett's topic in Handguns
This makes me sad. I always enjoyed RUSA. I patronized both locations and was always treated well. I wish them well and hope everyone lands on their feet. -
It’s right about 7lbs with an empty mag. I’m thinking about swapping that Protach out for a Inforce.

I suspect that some transparency would be bad for all of the parties involved. All of them. Regardless, I suspect it’s about to get way uglier.

Ever since reading “Unintended Consequences” I’ve wanted to shoot one. Probably only do it once, but it’s a dream.

Now that I have it built up, the weight isn’t that bad, and it will balance quite well when I slap a can on the front end of it. I’ve gotta say this brace is better than a lot of PDW stocks that are out there.

Whelp, here’s the functional, but not quite complete build. It’s got a Franklin Armory binary trigger on the way for it and I might swap that Holosun for an Eotech I have on a different gun.

OK, maybe I should have been more specific. I don’t think anybody with any ideas of substance is calling for getting rid of the NRA.
-
I don’t think that anybody is saying to scrap the NRA, not even if harshest critics like Jeff Knox. But the corruption needs to be rooted out before it causes irreparable damage to the organization.

Scripture discussion aside, I believe you completely missed what was actually happening in that scene. At the beginning of the film Gault is a man without purpose. He has no job and no direction. He’s bereft of his identity as a Texas Ranger. While Gault was good at his job, and it defined who he was, deep down he wasn’t a killer like Hammer. Killing never sat easy with him nd all the killing he did in the job ate away at his soul. The grandson is a stand-in for Gault’s conscience. He serves to tell the audience what is eating away at Gault. It’s the reason why he drinks, and it’s the reason why Hammer turned around and left. He could see the toll it takes on his friend. Still, for all of the pain it causes him, it is who he is and he must join Hammer on this journey. Then you are supposed to take the grizzled, damaged veteran Ranger potrayed by Harrelson and contrast him against the young naive FBI agent who has never shot anybody before. In many ways, he is Gault as a young man st the beginning of the journey that leads to the troubled man we see on screen. I don’t know if this movie got a theatrical release in order to qualify for Oscar contention, but Harrelson‘s performance is absolutely worthy of a statue. Kevin Costner may have been the lead, and he definitely gave an exceptionally fine performance, but this was Woodys movie.

You’re on point there. Prosecutors have notified the courts that they are adding him, and others, to the lawsuit. https://newsok.com/article/feed/9906302/feds-intend-to-sue-tennessee-lawmaker-over-pain-clinics -

I’d keep your ear to the ground regarding the Ackerman-McQueen lawsuit. https://www.ammoland.com/2019/04/nras-dirty-laundry-exposed-as-pro-gun-group-cleans-house/ -
Anytime you try to conflate the government with God’s Will, you run into very dangerous ground of justifying some actions that even Satan wouldn’t claim as his own.

I’m just happy that the gun industry is seeing what the auto industry started seeing a number of years back and is moving to a far more friendly business climate.
-
Exactly! I mean if it was the first part, why would you keep swapping parts?

I’m thinking that retirement has presented you with way too much time on your hands and the lack of focused direction is causing your thinking to get a bit fuzzy.
