He went shooting with his mom....
Chucktshoes replied to AuEagle's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Dave, it’s true that police investigating violent threats has nothing to do with the second. That about the same relationship your comment has to ChancesR’s. In Europe folks are arrested and jailed for making “offensive” posts on social media. A YouTube comedian was arrested and fined for making his girlfriend’s dog do a Nazi salute because she would go on about how cute it was and Nazis aren’t cute. Freedom of speech is under a real and concerted attack by certain folks. -
That looks really well built and nice. You taking orders?

So is anyone pre-panic buying yet?

My money is on an M&P 2.0 Compact in .40. -
Fair point.

That’s just what she lets you think.

As it should be. Guns however increasingly aren’t. That’s not how it should be. -
A quality knife is a quality knife, and a quality folder will handle real use and some abuse. Here’s my pocket folder. It does very well from cutting steaks to hose lines or other bits for expedient repairs on the truck. Still, it wouldn’t be my first choice for batoning wood or separating bones from joints or punching through through more solid material. For that I’ll use one of the really sturdy fixed blades @Grand Torino made for me.

“Tactical” to me has become more a descriptor of aesthetics and form rather than function. In my view folders are good for general purpose pocket duty. If you’re after something capable of heavy work or high force applications then you want a fixed blade. Like anything else, determine your needs based on intended use, set a budget and work from there.

On AIWB and my expanding gut
Chucktshoes replied to Chucktshoes's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Dude is funny, but 100% on the moves I do when I transition from standing to seated and back again. I’m only about 235# so I haven’t moved beyond the 300th parallel, but it’s spot on accurate. -

I used to be uncomfortable with that idea myself, then I realized I’m not a precision marksman. -

Probably not a bad idea. I’ve added wedges to other AIWB holsters to adjust fit and tuck. -
Memphis severed their ties with the First 48 for the same reason. It was kinda odd to me since for all the crime folks like to talk about Memphis having, their closure rate on homicides is very good.

Alright folks, play nice. If something isn’t your thing, then it’s not your thing. There is no need to personally insult the folks who are into that thing. If you think I might be referring to you, the answer is probably yes.

Some folks say that AIWB is only for skinny guys to brag about being skinny. I’ve come to realize that it really is the method of carry that allows for the fastest and most efficient draw. It works really well, there’s just one real problem with it. The longer I drive a truck, the bigger my belly gets. I’ve tried multiple AIWB holsters with varying degrees of success between fail to middlin. Some were better than others, but nothing was ever really that comfortable. Now I think I’ve actually found a well made and quite comfortable AIWB holster. It’s made by Tier 1 Concealed. It’s a sidecar style holster that is two pieces attached with a laced bungee cord that allows the two pieces to flex and curve around mah belly. Here’s a few pics of me with, without, and with shirt lifted to show the rig. The gun is an M&P 9 2.0 Compact with a 15 rd in gun and a 17rd as a spare. I can sit down and stand up without it digging into my legs or restricting my movement and making me move like I’m 90 years old because it cut circulation from digging into my thighs. Without gun: With gun: I’m sorry for this next one and its view of my pasty white belly, but it’s useful for showing how it sits in the pants. Here’s pics of the rig by itself.

This is correct. It is the law. The addresses on the ID and on the 4473 must match. It is considered a violation if the ATF catches a discrepancy between the two in an audit. When I worked at a gun shop I helped plenty of folks fill out change of address forms online with the DoS so that we could print a copy to file with the 4473.

Leupold vs Bausch & Lomb vs Simmons
Chucktshoes replied to 19_A_CPT's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I get the feeling my go to brand is out of the running here (NF) so I’ll say that @jpx2rk is on point with his rec. go check out the Vortex options. They have excellent offerings in the quality / price = value equation. Otherwise, of the 3 options you listed, Leupold would be the pick. Still, go look at the Vortex. -
If the left really wanted universal NICS checks they would push for Trump or any other PotUS to make NICS available to the public for free or for a small nominal fee. Make it free and have it generate a confirmation that the check was done and everyone would use it. When they push for laws to force people to go through FFLs only it becomes apparent that the goal isn’t universal checks but is instead just ratcheting up the degree of difficulty for gun transfers in the hopes of curbing ownership numbers. If I had access to NICS I would use it for every sale simply for my own piece of mind. How many of y’all would do the same without being forced to by law? I’d venture that the vast majority of y’all would.

I’d be pretty confident it’s diet. There’s some really interesting work in the study of average individual size of deer populations. Folks are fond of saying that deer in certain areas or larger or smaller due to genetics. When the scientists take the deer into captivity and adjust the diet or transplant them, the deer size will grow or shrink within a generation. It’s believed to be almost completely due to in utero diet of the mother. Whats the quality of the food the mother gets while pregnant, and then what’s the quality of, and how hard do they have to work to get food as they grow?
