  1. It’s hilarious. Did you wait until the end and watch the Epilogue:Punchline?
  2. Central is the one I am referring to. Their location on Poplar in east Memphis is absolutely a proof of concept for the design if they decided to go national like Jim & Nick’s. It tastes like really good Memphis BBQ, but it doesn’t feel like it.
  3. I’m a little conflicted. One of the better places in Memphis has multiple restaurants in town. Their most recent couldn’t be any more obviously a proof of concept design for a larger chain expansion. Very nice and slick and obviously a sanitized quick serve model. Memphis style BBQ is the best and I want to share it with folks, but at the same time, that’s ours. I don’t want to lose the specialness that makes Memphis BBQ the best there is.
  4. We actually walked in and were seated right away. Zero wait.
  5. Gotta give it to the hipster joints. The food is almost always on point. The wife and I had breakfast at The Sky Blue Cafe last time we were in town. Really tasty.
  6. Exactly this. No sense being a dick to employees who have no input or control over a policy that will likely negatively affect them as well.
  7. If only there were any still around....
  8. Called it. This move was telegraphed by the letter from the ceo. They are full on in the anti column.
  9. Your optimism is a little out too optimistic. They are taking real and concrete actions on their part that will have a negative effect for us. They don’t have to do anything, but they are choosing to do some things that I think are bigger than they may appear at first.
  10. It’s sure not a positive development.
  11. Which is obnoxious. I’m in IL quite a bit and it’s a state that I would totally get an OOS permit for if I had the opportunity.
  12. It’s about the same as pouring canola in your gun.
  13. Dave, it’s true that police investigating violent threats has nothing to do with the second. That about the same relationship your comment has to ChancesR’s. In Europe folks are arrested and jailed for making “offensive” posts on social media. A YouTube comedian was arrested and fined for making his girlfriend’s dog do a Nazi salute because she would go on about how cute it was and Nazis aren’t cute. Freedom of speech is under a real and concerted attack by certain folks.
  14. That looks really well built and nice. You taking orders?
  15. My money is on an M&P 2.0 Compact in .40.
  16. Fair point.
  17. That’s just what she lets you think.
  18. As it should be. Guns however increasingly aren’t. That’s not how it should be.
  19. A quality knife is a quality knife, and a quality folder will handle real use and some abuse. Here’s my pocket folder. It does very well from cutting steaks to hose lines or other bits for expedient repairs on the truck. Still, it wouldn’t be my first choice for batoning wood or separating bones from joints or punching through through more solid material. For that I’ll use one of the really sturdy fixed blades @Grand Torino made for me.
  20. “Tactical” to me has become more a descriptor of aesthetics and form rather than function. In my view folders are good for general purpose pocket duty. If you’re after something capable of heavy work or high force applications then you want a fixed blade. Like anything else, determine your needs based on intended use, set a budget and work from there.
  21. Dude is funny, but 100% on the moves I do when I transition from standing to seated and back again. I’m only about 235# so I haven’t moved beyond the 300th parallel, but it’s spot on accurate.
  22. I used to be uncomfortable with that idea myself, then I realized I’m not a precision marksman.
  23. Probably not a bad idea. I’ve added wedges to other AIWB holsters to adjust fit and tuck.
  24. Memphis severed their ties with the First 48 for the same reason. It was kinda odd to me since for all the crime folks like to talk about Memphis having, their closure rate on homicides is very good.
