There’s a reason for that. Get the Mec-Gar mags. They will actually work. The ProMag....maybe, maybe not with a hard lean towards not.

Nikon exiting rifle scope market
Chucktshoes replied to Chucktshoes's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I agree that it’s something like that. Folks like Vortex have taken over the market segment that Nikon existed in. I don’t know any folks who think of Nikon first when it comes to a rifle optic. -
One of our intrepid readers who’s in the retail end of the gun business told us of notification he received from one of his distributors. They were letting him know that Nikon will be exiting the rifle scope business and that once current inventory is gone, it’s gone. TTAG spoke to Nikon’s advertising agency who confirmed the news. We’re told that this is a business decision Nikon has made based on their position in the highly competitive optics market. Custom Glock G45 (and Why I Moved To The G45 Platform)
Chucktshoes replied to TGO David's topic in Handguns
No, but they are the biggest. -
Like handguns in .40S&W?
-
I would imagine not.

Custom Glock G45 (and Why I Moved To The G45 Platform)
Chucktshoes replied to TGO David's topic in Handguns
I would say to appeal to the widest possible group of buyers? -
Much like the general politics board, intentional or not, that’s a self inflicted wound and TGO maintains no liability from any hurt feelings or other personal injuries attained by your actions.

That article is from 2013. It makes the rounds every now and again, but is always good for a laugh.

From what I’m reading here, I have to say get the 6.5Cr. You won’t be happy with anything else. Get a Savage Axis II and replace the optic on it with a better quality one and you’ll be set. Don’t believe the hype that it’s just for punching holes in paper a long way about. I have a friend that uses his to take deer from near to far. One day he used his (suppressed) Bergara in 6.5 to take 4 does for the freezer. Two of them were in the same group at over 430 yards (landowner tags on private land in MO). It’s a more than capable round for any of the North American deer family.

I’ve got both .308 and 6.5 Cr rifles. They’re both great. Neither one is a wrong choice. I think you’ll be happy with whatever direction you go. What will make the biggest impact here will be your choice of glass.

[M&P Fueled] Ed Brown and changes in the gun industry
Chucktshoes replied to DaveTN's topic in Handguns
You’re an enabler, you know that, right? -
[M&P Fueled] Ed Brown and changes in the gun industry
Chucktshoes replied to DaveTN's topic in Handguns
I was not aware these existed. I’ve long wanted to do a Gucci M&P, and this check almost 100% of the check marks. The only thing I’m not a fan of is the relief cuts in the slide. I’m just not a fan of those in general. -
What happens to (lifetime) CHL If I move out of TN
Chucktshoes replied to turnip's topic in Handguns
While I am confident in my reading of the law, I would suggest to the OP that he contact the HCP office in Nashville for a final answer. -
What happens to (lifetime) CHL If I move out of TN
Chucktshoes replied to turnip's topic in Handguns
I’m pretty sure the validity of the lifetime HCP is dependent upon residency in the state of TN. If you become a resident of another state, then your permit is no longer valid. -
I can’t remember if it was mentioned here or not, but Stanley Black & Decker announced earlier this year that they are investing $90 million to move a fair chunk of Craftsman production to Texas.

To answer the actual question asked, my main knife is a Gavko Thresher flipper. I also carry a Protech Strider SnG and a Protech TR4, both are autos. The knife that’s been in the rotation the longest is a Spyderco Native in all stainless that I bought from a member here about a decade ago.
-
Do you want a flipper, spring assist, or auto? Does it matter?
-
I blame the Manhattan.

I’m happy to hear that about your ratchet. The older I get the more put off I am by the disposability of everything. Buying quality once and doing maintenance and repairs to keep it running really appeals to me. It just feels right somehow.

The second one looks like it is based off of one of the PDW braces. I use the Maxim PDW brace on my pistol, but the SB Tactical PDW brace is very similar, just a little longer. https://www.maximdefense.com/product/maxim-cqb-pistol-pdw-brace-for-ar15/ https://www.sb-tactical.com/product/sbpdw/

@1gewehr provided a solid, unbiased accounting of the different rifles in contention. I’ll be a bit less unbiased and slay some sacred cows in the process. Skip the M1A (M-14) it’s an inferior rifle when compared to all of the other options. The FAL and the G3 are both superior rifles. The US should have, and would have fielded the FAL if not for bias & chicanery on the part of the head of the Army’s procurement office.

Something I’ve also noticed is that the trigger shape may have played into it as well. This gun is my first with the Glock-style dongle in the center. It’s probably my least favorite feature of the gun. It also slopes on either side of the dongle and those slopes are ridged. I realized that I was indexing the pad of my trigger finger there and against the dongle instead of centered and on top of it. When I pulled the trigger I was actually pushing slightly left instead pulling straight to the rear. Next range trip will see if that fixes the issue or if more changes need to be made.

Yeah, I can’t even pocket carry an LCP in skinny jeans, so nope. That’s what appendix carry is for.

As long as you weren’t involved in the design or manufacture of their trannys, don’t take it personal. Now, if you were..well...I don’t know what to tell you other than “if the shoe fits...”
