  1. When one understands the relationship between gun control and the black codes, this isn’t so surprising. Of course while we may have some holdovers from our less than racially sensitive pasts, if you listen to the arguments being made for gun control by Yankees up north and squint, their clothes seem to get a whole lot whiter and flow-y, to the point of being almost robe-like.
  2. This go around at least. Got registered and everything.
  3. No special rules. Load up your gear in your vehicle, go to the range, have fun and return. That simple.
  4. As of now I pay more in just road and fuel taxes on an annual basis than the median income in this country. Now, I earn my living on these roads in a vehicle that is harder on them then your average four wheeler. I don’t mind contributing more to their upkeep. I do take issue with the manner in which that financing of the roadways is managed and how much is siphoned off by useless bureaucrats. I will return to Greg’s question of what is reasonable? “That’s up to society to decide“ is a dodge. So, what percentage of a persons income do you consider to be a reasonable percentage for taxation? What’s the number?
  5. Tp put it another way, if slavery is equivalent to a tax rate of 100%, at what percentage is it not?
  6. Gives a whole new meaning to “peep sights”.

    S&W M&P

I’d send an email to the guys over at Squared Away Customs to see if they have the molds for it. I don’t see that one listed, but they’ve got all the others so I’d check with them. They make really good holster. I’ve got 3 of them in different styles for my M&Ps.
  8. When a person steals a little, they never stop there. They keep stealing more and more. It’s a compulsion.
  9. That’s a DOT violation.
  10. See, there’s the difference in our views on this laid bare. I can call an action stupid (or in this case lazy) without making a judgement call on the person themselves. So, no, I’m not calling you lazy, but writing political or ideological opponents off as stupid because they did or want something you think is stupid? Yeah, that’s lazy as ####. It’s also stupid.
  11. You’ll notice I didn’t use any political identifiers either. That was intentional. I still it’s it’s unwise and lazy to write opponents off as being stupid, even when they make what appear to be stupid mistakes. Doing so generally doesn’t turn out so well.
  12. While my opponent may have wildly differing goals or beliefs to the point of incomprehensibility to me, I won’t let myself fall into the lazy trap of believing that he/she is stupid. Once I do that I have laid the foundation of my own defeat.
  13. Man, ain’t that a ***** for y’all?
  14. Dude, you’re years behind the curve on that one. I wonder if a property tax hike that big will finally tamp down on the Nashvegas population boom?
  15. From my perspective, there’s not much, if any, exaggeration there. I haul a reefer trailer and these meat plants in the Midwest are some of our biggest customers. We refer to the area from Denver to Chicago and down to Kansas City as the meat patch. Normally this is an area my friends and I love to be in for loading. Over the last 6 weeks it has died. There’s no freight there. To give an example of that supply chain interruption, IPB is a Tyson company. I will normally bring in large loads of beef from Iowa and Kansas to the IBP plant in Goodlettesville where it is finished and packaged for store DCs all through TN and surrounding states. Those loads aren’t happening like they used to. I don’t know how it’s affecting supplies in the area yet, but there’s no doubt in my mind that it’s going to at some point soon. I’d suggest looking to the way your grand, or even great-grandparents did things. (Assuming they didn’t raise their own here.) Find yourself an actual butcher who locally sources his supply and become a customer and make friends. It won’t be Walmart prices, but it’ll fresher and cleaner meat that you might be able to get when the that same Walmart has empty shelves.
  16. A friend of mine relayed to me a story of having dinner with the Col. at SHOT Show in 01. When asked his thoughts on the ACOG he said that if it continued to hold up in combat usage that it would be a passable optic. So I think that he would have approved of the LPVO on the scout rifle as it seems he wasn’t the luddite that some would portray him to be.
  17. Yes. It had been determined conclusively that I was wrong.
