  1. Assuming you already have a 3D printer, it's not necessarily going to be cheaper to print a lower than it is to buy any finished one. High quality PLA is not cheap and you still need various alloy inserts, for instance buffer tube threads, to help reinforce your printed lower. Strictly from a cost perspective, 100% lowers are the cheapest option. The TNARMS15 carbon fiber lower for $39 doesn't really get much better bang for the buck, pun intended.
  2. You've obviously observed much of my work, lol. I was fishing for a bit more context as that is a rabbit hole I've gone down plenty. The short answer is yes they are a viable option. 3D printing filaments continue to make very impressive improvements so they are more robust than ever. I'm not sure what's out there on the retail market as 3D printing lowers and other 2A type bits is more of a DIY hobby but I'd definitely consider one if I were shopping to put together a lightweight build. PSR on YouTube does some torture testing (he'll use the AR as a pushup bar on the ground) if you want to see some real world results.
  3. Yep
  4. Chrome would be the fix
  5. Safari is likely the root of your issue. Best thing to do is to perform the same test in Chrome and see if the results are the same or different. That will tell you where the issue actually lies.
  6. What browser are you using? Safari is mediocre at best on all Apple devices. Chrome is another option. Firefox, as well.
  7. That extra ammo is really making this a savory deal. If I didn't already have the case hardened version, I'd be all over this. GLWS!
  8. She's a beaut, Clark. Since a year-ish wait seems to be the norm, might as well customize it. I'm tempted to get the barrel cut for 49/64x20 threads to run a Bowers Vers 50 can since they'd probably both arrive about the same time.
  9. Stumbled upon this gem of an outfit doing the Lord's work. Anyone have any firsthand experience with any of these beauties? https://www.bighornarmory.com/rifles/
  10. I wonder what the competition is going to be like. Haven't been to a TN estate sale yet. I'm used to Midwesterners that grossly overpay for anything firearm or hotrod related which really takes the fun out of it.
  11. I'm glad I went the modular route. Having the ability to adapt to so many different platforms with only a couple of cans has more value to me than chasing less decibels and buying more cans for specific purposes. I went Silencerco with an Omega 36M, Omega 45K, and Hybrid 46 and they cover pretty much everything centerfire I shoot with the various adapter bits. There are other companies that do modular cans and may do a better job but this is what I have personal experience with. It's my understanding that much of the adapter hardware has cross-compatibility with other manufacturers. I got those, a rimfire can, and their Salvo 12 shotgun can and I haven't really had to urge to look into more cans except for 50BMG which mine are too small for
  12. The little sign at the top says $10 but that was the price until I left 3 years ago so it's probably $15 today
  13. They have had these all over Las Vegas for a few years
  14. A buddy and I did a more DIY hog hunt about 3 years ago down in South Texas. It was a mom and pop outfit so the amenities/options were minimal. They supplied the land, trail camera dumps, and a vehicle and whatever you shot would be processed for no additional cost. It was still $400/night for the both of us and we never saw a single hog. Next time I would spend far more for a better experience like one of the helicopter rides that guarantees a mess of hogs to perforate.
  15. Had a good buddy with that affliction that I invited to live with me and my then wife to give him a stable space to figure himself out. The house was bone dry but that didn't stop him. Looked into outside intervention which ended up being a dead end. Unless you are family (which his was far away and just treated him like an ATM) there's practically nothing you can do. He eventually bought a house and we moved elsewhere because watching the decline play out in real time was too much to bear. A couple years later, up to the usual imbibing ritual, he slipped and bonked his noggin' and that was it. Best and hardest thing I did was walk away because you can't help people that can't help themselves.
  16. I've personally ordered from 80% of the listed vendors, some multiple times, which much success. They've all come from Ammoseek or gun.deals so I believe them all to be legit. I left one out as I had a bad experience (got my money back without much effort) and would not recommend (WMTTC). Here are the ones I have not verified: Billet Bob Ammo Gulf Coast Gun HuntShootFish Mutiny Machine If you have any questions about the vendors I have experience with, I can provide various feedback on request.
  17. To save you some time, here's my list of vendors that do not charge sales tax currently. These are subject to change but it's a good start: American Reloading Beebe Family Arms Billet Bob Ammo Black Butterfly De Leon RX & Sporting Goods Glen's Army Navy Grizzly Cartridge Gulf Coast Gun GunZoneDeals HD Tactical HuntShootFish KIR Ammo Maryland Munitions MMI Mutiny Machine Rivertown Munitions Selway Armory Skogen's Gun Supply Steinel Ammo Stunnoma Sports Tactical Surplus USA Top Gun Ammo Wild Horse Ammunition
  18. Ammoseek takes a bit of work to dial in but once you have it's easy. Don't bother with any vendor with a shipping rating less than 6. I tend to focus on 8+ and Free/Conditional Free shipping. Their shipping rating system is quite accurate. The keyword search is surprisingly good so I'll use that over many of the dropdown parameters. gun.deals has an ammo section but the search is weak so it takes a bit of effort but they have a lot of vendors that aren't on Ammoseek so it's still a good spot to cross-reference.
  19. I've created a list of vendors that don't charge sales tax so I'll cross-reference that when searching. There are a surprising amount that don't charge and also have decent prices and lower cost shipping.
  20. Ah good ole 3V. Good luck when it comes time to change the spark plugs.
  21. A few months ago I decided to harness my vast power of autism and applied it to heavily tracking the ammo market and it has paid off a lot recently. For instance, last night SGAmmo raised their price on 50BMG ball by 50cpr making the cheapest 50BMG now basically $4/round. It's funny because I had a feeling 50BMG was ready to pop up so I ordered some yesterday, before the price hike. Also managed to snap up some new 308 for 70cpr shipped which sold out in a couple hours. Is anyone else around here as pedantic as I am or is this more of a cash and carry crowd?
