I love how the "and job fair" part is just tacked on there at the end. Tell me you think men are lazy without telling you think men are lazy.

Lib SCOTUS Justices Clueless About Bump Stocks
LangdoniousRex replied to gun sane's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
The ruling will only apply to bump stocks specifically. Braces, FRTs, etchings of lightning links in credit card sized pieces of metal, those are all different battles in the same war. The AFT won't stop until they are executive ordered out of existence so we all better keep kevlar on our dogs until that happens. -

That's not a requirement of their job. Their job is to interpret law as it is written. -
I have a barely used p322 that I've been thinking about letting go of, if you're interested.

I've got the land and some proper targets if y'all want to make the drive.

I'd be interested

I like where your head is. If it weren't a 4 hour drive away, I'd probably snag it.

I'd prefer a rifle that ran over its looks. I've had some of the older JM Marlins in hand and the action felt kind of crunchy which lead me to wait and buy newer production versions and they've been brilliant so far. That's where I'm not confident just YOLOing a grand at a Rossi not knowing if it's a pile of trash or not.
-
It could be old school as far as I'm concerned. I came across a smoking deal on a pile of subsonic 30-30 and want to run it with my can. I already have a tacticool level rifle and don't really care for another.

But ? That Marlin 336 SBL is sweet but that price tag is oof. I have the 1895 SBL and am partial to that configuration. The Rossi is the cheapest and most readily available. The Henry is cheaper than the Marlin and can be had for near Rossi pricing when available. The 336 Dark is discontinued so it's only available on the open market and people generally want obscene money for them so that's a hard pass. If I had to be honest with myself, I've never held a Rossi in my hands so I'm quite apprehensive of the brand in general. I love my Marlins and Henrys so I have no problem going all in on either brand. That being said, I'd either wait for a Henry H009X to pop up at MSRP or snatch a 336 SBL at the best price I can find. I've tried to get hands on a Rossi at a retail store but even those are not exactly easy to come by.

Since this seems to be the ultimate lever rifle thread, I figured I'd drop my question here: Rossi R95 Triple Black or Henry H009X or another threaded barrel 30-30?

If you want to avoid dealing with an FFL, this is an option: https://polymer80.com/p80-g150-ar-15-80-receiver-kit-black_2/ EDIT: There is one left available here: https://www.noqtr80.com/ar-frame-kits/p80-g150-phoenix-v2-ar-15-80-receiver-kit-black/

Assuming you already have a 3D printer, it's not necessarily going to be cheaper to print a lower than it is to buy any finished one. High quality PLA is not cheap and you still need various alloy inserts, for instance buffer tube threads, to help reinforce your printed lower. Strictly from a cost perspective, 100% lowers are the cheapest option. The TNARMS15 carbon fiber lower for $39 doesn't really get much better bang for the buck, pun intended.

You've obviously observed much of my work, lol. I was fishing for a bit more context as that is a rabbit hole I've gone down plenty. The short answer is yes they are a viable option. 3D printing filaments continue to make very impressive improvements so they are more robust than ever. I'm not sure what's out there on the retail market as 3D printing lowers and other 2A type bits is more of a DIY hobby but I'd definitely consider one if I were shopping to put together a lightweight build. PSR on YouTube does some torture testing (he'll use the AR as a pushup bar on the ground) if you want to see some real world results.
