Yea I know....in a way I was kind of just showing her how "uneducated" she was. She does not even know how to properly post. I mean, if she really feels that strongly about it, she should make for darn sure she posts correctly. I know, I know....we don't want to help them post correctly so we can legally still carry there. I guess I was just so pissed when I saw it, I became a little un-glued and got a little smarty pants on her. Yes, I can be a little bitchy sometimes (it is rare). The funny thing is....I have driven past there everyday since and she STILL does not have a correct posting up. Believe me, I won't be saying anything else to her about it. I just laugh when I drive by thinking......Lady you really have no clue do you?! So let me get this correct.....if the restaurant is improperly posted and you carry anyway, if they do find out or suspect you have a weapon, you CANNOT be arrested....only asked to leave and then if you don't you CAN be arrested for trespassing. Correct?

The last thing we need in them is ready access to firearms. RESPONSE: Confrontation can occur anywhere. If someone wishes to KILL a person in a bar, they will find the means to do it with or without a gun….they can bring in a knife pretty easily. A man at O’Charley’s on Bell Road was murdered with a knife (lock the steak knives up!) 2. When firearms are allowed on bar premises, bars' and restaurants' liability insurance skyrockets, leading to higher prices for food and beverages. Really? Ask Jonny’s Sport’s Bar if their Insurance has gone up yet since my husband’s murder. It is more dangerous to have nobody armed there than not. A criminal can come in and murder 18 people very easily if nobody is carrying. An establishment that has HCP Holders in it can keep that number down so that they may kill 1 or 2 people but NOT 18! How much is each human life worth to an Insurance Company? 3. Servers don't need to be in the position of patting down customers, or asking them if they have a permit for their weapon. They aren't policemen. Nobody said they had to be policemen. They should not be patting people down. A bad guy will carry in their establishment and try to kill no matter the law or their silly little “no guns allowed†sign. Better to have people that are law abiding , trained citizens carrying to save lives than allow the criminal to murder whoever they want and as many as they want. 4. According to the law, people carrying guns can't drink in the bar, which means they're taking up a seat that could be used by a paying customer. If they are there they will be drinking “coke†or “diet pepsi†and possibly enjoying some fries or chicken fingers. They have every right to be there just like anyone else no matter what they are ordering. As long as they order something you can’t say they are not a paying customer. So are Restaurants now going to make people who order a house salad and soup get up and leave because the other guy coming in wants steak & lobster? Most likely the HCP Holder will be at the bar with friends, those friends can drink and be big spenders and the carry holder can enjoy the evening spending less but he just brought in 5 big spenders for the bar….um….he is MAKING YOU MONEY ACTUALLY. 5. You've seen kids get out of hand in restaurants. Imagine the tragedy of one going through mommy's purse and pulling the trigger on her gun. Or what if some homicidal drunk who doesn't have a gun decides to grab one he sees on another patron? Concealed doesn't mean "hidden." Hmmm…..well I have been to McDonald’s with my gun in my purse with my friend and her young son. I am responsible and would NEVER leave my purse for a small child to get into. My eyes would be on that child and my purse. You assume HCP Holders are idiots. That’s because you have never been to a training course or understand any of the training WE HCP holders get. 6. Guns aren't allowed in Legislative Plaza, yet they're perfectly happy with folks carrying them into bars... the hypocrisy of their workplace vs. ours! I never said I agreed Guns should NOT be in the Legislative Plaza. 7. It is illegal to drink while armed. A person who consumes alcohol while packing a pistol may be in violation of the law, but that won't matter when someone dies in a heated barroom brawl from a gunshot wound. There are strict consequences to drinking and carrying. Nobody who is law abiding would break that law to face those harsh consequences. Hello!!!! If he drinks and shoots….um, he is a bad guy and he would have killed someone regardless of alcohol being there or not. Don’t punish good people for what Bad guys choose to do. There has NEVER been an account of where a HCP Holder ever did this sort of thing! Only Bad Guys do. 8. Hunters bring flasks and beer on their hunting trips-- does anyone really think someone is just going to go to a bar, armed, and just hang out and not drink? Hunters should not do that but they are NOT in PUBLIC. It’s apples and oranges. But yes….if the HCP Holder is there with friends and they are carrying….believe me, they do NOT want to lose their permit forever. They will not drink. HCP Holders take this very seriously. You cannot have that firearm ON YOU and be under the influence. 9. Even when fired with the best of intentions, bullets sometimes go astray. Fewer guns means there will be fewer accidents and mistakes. Fewer guns mean the bad guys will be the ones with Guns and they can kill as many people as they want. A trained person is NOT going to take a risky shot at the expense of innocent people’s lives. That is part of being TRAINED. You are taught what to do and not to do. When to shoot and when not to. You are taken through scenarios. At close range you can hit your intended target with success. They don’t give Permits out of Cracker Jack Boxes ya’ know! 10. Bars are not chaotic. I worked in one, I know. Chaos only occurs when a shot is fired and under those circumstances your animal instinct and training takes over. You evaluate the situation, know who the bad guy is and if you can take him out without harming others, you do so. Otherwise you don’t take the shot. PERIOD. What makes you think an officer can react any better? Training? I have had my permit course, intermediate course and two advanced courses and train whenever I can. Officers training is good but so is mine. Acting in Self Defense and defense of someone who’s life is about to be taken does NOT make you a vigilante. It makes you want to SURVIVE and care enough about others that you want them to SURVIVE. We are NOT out trying to be Police on the street watching over everyone and solving every single issue. We want to enjoy our time our with friends & family knowing we can defend ourselves if tragedy occurs. When seconds count, the police are minutes away. I know. They got to me and my husband in just enough time to put up crime scene tape and take pictures of my husband’s dead body. 12. Finally, if you are so worried about your safety that you feel you need to be packing a pistol to go into such-and-such bar... then you just need to go somewhere else. I guess I don’t need to drive down the street, go to church, the grocery store or for a walk in the park either huh?! Crime occurs everywhere. If you had a family member murdered in front of you like my husband was in front of me, maybe then you would understand. Ahhhh Breakers Sports Bar. I have MANY times seen people served WAY too much alcohol there. These people then get behind the wheel of ONE HUGE BULLET and drive. So it's okay to get people smashed who have car keys but they are afraid of a law abiding citizen (who is not allowed by law to drink) from carrying their legal firearm in their establishment. Oh wait....that's right, the people that will die will be out on the road and not in their bar....so that somehow makes it okay? Hmmm......

I have been told by the BBC that the TFA Interview of Nikki Goeser (Me) will air this friday. I am waiting to get confirmation as to the time. I will post it later today. Thank you John Harris for helping me have a voice with lawmakers & the media. When I speak, I speak for ALL of us. I am just one little lady that was handed a huge nightmare and instead of wasting away in sorrow and doing nothing, I am doing something to insure that these criminals are not able to rule this world. The more HCP holders out there, the better. Crime DOES happen in Restaurants that serve alcohol and we should not have to just sit there without being able to protect ourselves. Our message is important and just because we are a minority, does not mean that we should be disciminated against. If African Americans did not stand up for civil rights, where would they be now? What if Rosa Parks had just said..."okay Mr. White man, I'll get up out of this seat because you demanded me to". We have to rise up and rise above in a peaceful manner to those that wish to stomp on our Constitution and make our voices heard. This lawsuit that has been filed is completely innapropriate. It is a waste of tax payer's money and shows these people just have a really bad case of "sour grapes". The Appropriate thing to do would be....put your little "no guns allowed" sign up on your door and WAIT till the next legislative session to challenge this. This is nothing more than people who live in this country that want to strip away good, law-abiding citizens 2nd Amendment Rights. There are many great organizations that ALL support 2nd Amendment Rights and are wonderful forums for people like us. I am proud to say I am a member of TGO, TFA, Second Amendment Sisters and the NRA. If we all work together we can move Mountains. I hope MANY of you will show up Monday for the hearing. Its seems that they also want to vote more liberals into the General Assembly who sadly disregard the concept of the Constitution. In my permit class it was presented to me like this...... If a man has a baseball bat and threatens to knock your head off your shoulders with it and you are on one side of a car and the bad guy is on the other side of the car.....you CANNOT draw your weapon until your life is actually in danger. In other words, the bad guy would have to walk around to the same side of the car that you are on before you can draw & fire. If you draw and fire while he is on the other side of the car it equals murder. If he comes over to your side...it is self defense.

I have carried there before and I just don't see why this female manager there chose to POST. This is ridiculous. Well, one of my FAVORITE Restaurants has POSTED today. Bar-B-Cutie on Donelson Pike posted. I spoke with the female manager there this afternoon and told her who I was and that my husband had been murdered in a restaurant. I told her that her POSTING was a direct invitation for Bad Guys to come in and KILL countless amounts of people knowing that there will be nobody there to protect themselves. She does not agree with me. She kept saying the entire time that she cannot police people and ask every person that comes in the door that has a gun, if they have a permit. Her line of thinking is so incredibly silly. I told her that a bad guy will come in there with a gun anyway. When seconds count, the police are minutes away. I told her that the police will get there in just enough time to put up crime scene tape and take pictures of her dead employees & patrons. She would not budge. I gave her my article from the Tennessean. I also told her that her posting was not VALID. It was her own created "no guns allowed" sign and it is not a proper post. I told her that I WILL NOT BE BACK. This is so ridiculous.

I addressed the verbage this "coalition" chose to use in their lawsuit directly with one of the attorney's that filed it today on the Bob Pope Radio Show. I was there and confronted him face to face live on the radio. Self Defense is NOT vigilante behavior. It simply means you wish to survive and you are acting in self defense because you "have to". I do not want to go around Nashville acting like an officer....I am not one and don't ever plan on being one. However, I have the "right" to protect myself and my family and to use the word "vigilante" is extremely irresponsible and cruel and just down right "WRONG". I suppose these people that filed this lawsuit would simply just "sit there" and allow a gunman to break in their home and rape their children and torture their family members while they do NOTHING. Wow. Now I am a Vigilante just because I wanted the ability to protect my husband. I guess all of these people who brought forth this lawsuit would just sit there if someone broke in their house to rape their children and force them to watch. I guess by fighting back that would be considered "Vigilante" behavior and therefore they would not protect their children but rather sit there while being held at gunpoint and do NOTHING. I mean afterall.....self defense is Vigilante behavior and that is just WRONG right? This is ridiculous.

I would like to take Defensive Pistol in October. That is if I don't have to be in the courtroom those days that month. The grand jury trial may start in October, not sure.

Senator Doug Jackson is a Democrat and he is a key reason this Restaurant Carry Bill is now Law. He supports a person's right to protect themself in an establishment that serves alcohol. I used to think all democrats were anti-gun too. I have learned so much in the past few months it is amazing how wrong I was. So here is my question, and I apologize for not already knowing this..... So what will happen to you if you do conceal carry in a restaurant that has a posted "no guns allowed" sign? I mean....can they call the police and you go to jail for it? Or is it simply a situation where if they ask you if you have a gun on you and you say yes and then they just ask you to leave? Of course if you refuse to leave then you could be taken to jail but.....if you leave is that it? It's just the owners rules right? You can't go to jail for carrying in a place that is posted right?

It's too bad Calhoun's is going to POST. I used to work there at the Lenoir City chain under the manager there "Mike". I lived in Knoxville for 20 years and graduated college from U.T. I wonder if he even knows that I am the woman who lost her husband to a wack-a-doodle gunman and I support restaurant carry. He probably has no idea. It's been awhile since I was back there.
