The LaVergne Chief shot and killed another officer? Really? What's the story on that one? -
Second -OR- None ... A Celebration of Liberty
ngoeser59 replied to TGO David's topic in Events and Gatherings
I have learned so much about the media in the past 6 months. I never really thought much about them having an "agenda"in the past. To tell you the truth...I never paid that much attention to their reporting style because I was never in a situation where I needed to. I wish the news we all got was more fair & balanced. It bothers me a great deal when all the local networks cover anti-gun events but when a pro-gun event occurs....they don't come out. So many great things were said by our State Representatives and others but none of it got heard by the general public out there. I mean.....Germany TV came out and covered it but I did not see our own local networks such as Channel 2,4,5.....??? Why? -
This sounds like alot of fun and a great way to get some good practice in. I wish I could go!

Second -OR- None ... A Celebration of Liberty
ngoeser59 replied to TGO David's topic in Events and Gatherings
That was a really great event and I want to Thank TGO for helping organize it. I am looking forward to seeing more of these type events in the future. I would guess around 500 people were there. Next year maybe we can triple that number! -
Second -OR- None ... A Celebration of Liberty
ngoeser59 replied to TGO David's topic in Events and Gatherings
I am going to choose to carry concealed at this event. There is going to be media there and I believe they will just be itching to get footage of the people who choose to come in wearing guns and patches and nra hats and chewing tobacco and spitting and anybody that happens to have a few teeth missing. That is what they will want to portray to the public in their reporting of us generally. So I am going to dress nice and keep my gun concealed so they can see that we are just everyday good people. In other words....I hope to show that a permit holder could very well be the nicely groomed sweet lady that sits next to you in church. The lady you would never guess had a gun under her sweater or in her purse. I know media from Germany is coming and also media from Washington D.C. This should be a really great event and I am so excited that TGO, Barrett Firearms & The Outpost has organized this. It's gonna be great to be among friends. I hope they do this every year. -

Looks like I am scheduled to speak at this event along with Senator Jackson. Holy Crap I am nervous..... -
I love my Glock 19!!! I have heard you can burry one in the dirt for weeks and dig it up and it will fire no prob. Under water, no prob. Drop it, won't bust. Reliable. I ran 750 rounds out of it in a tactical training course....great gun.

Would they use stories like this one too? Retired Va. police officer’s gun discharges in restaurant, 3 injured - Kingsport Times-News Online

I used to live in Knoxville and know the area where these kids were tortured & killed. I believe it is for sure a HATE CRIME. The disturbing thing is....had this been a group of white men that did this to a black couple....oh hell, Jessie Jackson & Al Sharpton would be all over it like flies on dog s***. But are they standing up and saying hey this is wrong and this is reverse racism and we support this white family? Heck No!!What does that tell you?

What happened in Todays Hearing???
ngoeser59 replied to VolunteerGuns's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I don't think they have a leg to stand on. The only thing the Judge MAY agree with is possibly the definition of a Restaurant being too vague in the Bill. In that case, all the Legislators have to do is go back and amend it to be more specific in the next legislative session. -
Thank you guys for your support. It means soooo much to have people like you out there giving me encouragment. I always get nervous just before I do interviews and I wonder how I am going to come across to the general public. Once I get on and start talking then the nervousness goes away and I just talk. I believe in what I am saying with every fiber of my being. I wish I did not have to be on these programs to begin with. Quite frankly, I would rather be here on the couch chilling with Ben and watching his favorite TV Series "The Wild Wild West" and eating popcorn. But that is not possible now. Everyday I try to do "something" to stand up for our 2nd Amendment Rights. It may be just coming on the forum and communicating with people like yourselves or it may be visiting a restaurant that is posted and trying to educate them, or it may be doing an interview or writing an article. I really have 3 lives going on. I have my work life, my "mission" life, and my personal life. Work is going pretty good although I am not back to 100% just yet. My "mission" life is something that I focus on the most, and my personal life consists of staying in touch with mine & Ben's friends and family. I am having a cookout here at the house this saturday for all of mine & Ben's friends. I try to have them over once a month so everyone stays in touch. I am going to need those friends when this trial starts. I am also seeing a shrink. Which is really odd for me because I have my Bachelors degree in Psychology. But none the less, I know I need to go for grief, loss & trauma counseling. Just because I have studied it does not mean I can figure it out for myself. I stay close to my Mom. She is staying here at the house with me for now. She has been a huge help. Bless her heart, she even does my laundry for me. It's good to have someone here so I don't have to be alone. I have 3 dogs that keep me on my feet too. Every morning when I wake up, I say "I love you Ben". None of us really know what happens when we die. Ben & I talked about it alot just after his Dad passed away on Dec 7th 2008 at the age of 93. Ben told me that if he ever died he would want me to remember him and love him but he would not want me to be alone forever. He told me that his only firm stance would be that I find someone that loves me just as much as him (then he said...well, nobody is gonna love you as much as I do) but he better be damn good to you!) Ben also said that if his spirit could find a way to reach me and let me know he is here, he would move Mountains to do that. I really believe Ben's spirit is with me everyday. I have this calm that takes over when I get scared and I feel like it is Ben & God taking care of me. I'm starting to get choked up so I need to hop off..... hugs.

These Restaurants that are posting are just asking for a mass shooting. I hope it never happens but if it ever does....I will be the first on the news ready to say "I TOLD YA' SO". Maybe you should have listened to a victim/survivor of a hideous gun crime before this all happened. Maybe if you had LISTENED and actually LEARNED from what happened to me then there would have been people here that could have stopped the shooter. But ya' didn't listen and now you have 25 dead people on your hands. I TOLD YA' SO.

I carry in church all the time. My church is NOT posted (Thank God). I know several conceal carry people just like myself at my church. As Mr. T would say.... "I pitty da' fool criminal who decides to come hurt people in my church!"
-
Geez.....why are open carry guys and conceal carry guys giving each other such a hard time? It's all about the right to carry. I choose to conceal carry simply because I am a woman and not very strong and if some nut job tried to take it from my hip I would be at a disadvantage. I prefer the element of surprise myself. However, I am not going to give a guy a hard time if he makes the choice to open carry....as long as he really knows what he is doing and feels completely comfortable open carrying so nobody can get a hold of it. We are all on the same side here guys. At least we are supposed to be. Yikes.

How is "with the intent to go armed" defined???
ngoeser59 replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Let me see if I understand this.....If you have a HCP then you CAN carry with the intent to go armed. I mean, otherwise what good is the gun in the first place if it is not armed? No better then having a rock in your pocket. HCP holders are always allowed to go "armed" whever it is legal correct? -
So here is some news.....I am taking this same fight to the great state of OHIO. Ohio is getting ready to vote on their own Restaurant Carry Bill sometime this Fall. I have been talking with BuckEye Firearms and some other 2nd Amendment supporters who have the Legislators ears. I spoke on 1420AM BuckEye Firearms Conservative Talk Radio out of Cleveland Ohio last night (It will be archived online next week at <!-- m -->http://www.buckeyefirearms.org/node/6532<!-- m --> ). I hope to be able to testify before their Senate to try and help get the same Restaurant Carry Law passed in Ohio. I want the Second Amendment to be taken seriously all over this country. The world is a very different place now than what it used to be. Criminals are striking more & more often and at more & more places where individuals cannot protect themselves. This HAS GOT TO STOP. We all deserve to live in peace and have our families safe. Like I have said many times and I know you have too...."When seconds count, the police are minutes away".

List crimes that were Deadly in Restaurants
ngoeser59 replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
My own case....... The man that killed my husband goes to trial next year (so much for quick justice) NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A man was arrested after police said he shot and killed a mobile karaoke business owner Thursday night. Metro Police said the shooter, Hank Wise, had apparently developed a fascination with Ben Goeser's wife after seeing her at other karaoke events over the past few months. "We didn't think anything about it, you know? He just was weird. He was real quiet," said Nikki Goeser, murder victim's wife. Nikki never knew Hank Wise was capable of killing, especially her husband of 15 months. "He was following her to an extent, it could be considered every much a case of stalking," said Metro police officer Randy Alexander. Investigators are trying to figure out what made Hank Wise lose control. "He has no previous arrest history what so ever," said Alexander. "We still don't know the entire answer to it, it's still under investigation. We do know they were not strangers. They had met several months earlier." Police said apparently, Wise started sending inappropriate e-mails to Nikki Goeser through My Space. "I deleted him, and I blocked him from my MySpace page," said Goeser. She told him to stop, and had not heard from more than a month ago until last night. "My husband, Ben, was just standing at the Karaoke computer -- just minding his own business, just entering in songs," said Goeser. "There was a struggle, and the guys were trying to get him out, and he pulled a weapon and he shot like 4 or 5 rounds into Ben. He died instantly." Wise left a message on his MySpace blog the day before the shooting that said "Forever unforgiven, I know who you are, run. You're going to see my bad side. It's going to be extremely painful. I'll be on the hunt, predator and prey. You're forever unforgiven." Police guess the blog was connected to the shooting, but it was unclear who Wise was talking about in his message. Goeser, co-owner of Cane Ridge Karaoke, was killed while at work last night at Johnny's Sports Bar, at 5805 Nolensville Pike, in South Nashville just after 10:30 p.m. "Very fortunate that no one else was hurt. There were multiple rounds fired inside," said Alexander. Management at Jonny's asked Wise to leave. Police said that was when Wise approached Goeser and shot him several times. Bar patrons tackled the gunman and held him until police arrived. The suspect is being held in lieu of $1 million bond at the Davidson County Jail on murder charges. To make a donation to the Benjamin F. Goeser Benefit Fund go to any SunTrust bank. Well..... I know one radio show host and previous bussinessman of guns shows Mr. Bob Pope who will NO LONGER BE EATING AT HOOTERS. That was one of his favorite places and he ate there at least 2 times every week. I am sure those ladies at Hooters will miss Good Ol' Bob. Their loss. Bob has ALOT of connections in and around the Nashville area....they will lose many more people than just Bob.
