  1. from what I was told by a friend of mine in the legal field, the judge issued a stay which applied US wide, whereas the initial ruling only applied to the individuals/groups in the suit brought forth, but being people could be a member of GOA and live in a State outside of the jurisdiction of where the ruling was issued, this created a gray area, hence the reason for the judge issuing a statewide stay. This being said, I've been in several gun shops including Smoky Mountain Knife and Gun shop just a couple of days ago and they've put the braces back on and they're selling them with the braces
  2. Cheatham County Sheriff's department is dropping their G22's, 23's and 27's and going to G45 9MM's with Holosun 507's and G26's for certain deputies/detectives/agents.
  3. What's everyone's thoughts on 357 SIG? Any experiences with the caliber? How is the performance compared to other common handgun cartridges? Think it's a dead caliber?
  4. Has anyone tested more with 45 Colt loads at longer ranges or .410 slugs at longer ranges? I know with shot it's a real up close and personal weapon
  5. Anyone taken a Judge to distance? I know they make different flavors in 2.5" and 3.0" chambers, the "Raging Judge" that also shoots 454 Casull, but how does any of these shoot at a longer distance? I have a 3" judge and it won't shoot .410 slugs worth a flip past 15-20 yards or so consistently. The "cowboy" loads shoot most accurate from mine, when velocity of the Colt loads goes up, the groups start stringing outward. I don't know if the 2.5" ones shoot the 45 Colt loads more accurately, if the longer barrel models have a considerable accuracy increase and especially how the 454 loads shoot from them... Anyone experimented distance shooting with the Judge?
  6. I've been interested in the 44 Special Rossi and Taurus revolvers from the late 80's to early 90's production, I believe the correct model number(s) for Rossi is the 720 and for Taurus 431, 441, 445 and the Taurus 455 in 45 auto. Anyone had experience with these?
  7. I had a forester help me with mine, select cut only 12-14" diameter trees and larger, and this forester worked with TWRA many times. He stated that if you leave the tops where they fall instead of pushing them up in piles, yes, it doesn't look as clean, but wat logging job does, but the wildlife activity increases a lot within a year of new growth. I just didn't understand how I was seeing so many deer during archery, definite rut activity week before muzzleloader and it was like a faucet was cut off
  8. glad to hear that...I've known Dennis and his son's for a long time, good people from my experience. Just don't go that much that way any more
  9. anyone hunt Cheatham Wildlife Management Area? How is it?
  10. If you don't mind me asking, what is the recoil like on the 460 and what about on that 44? What kind of accuracy do you get with both
  11. thoughts on Taurus and Rossi revolvers...I know in the past they've been hit and miss, now since the move to GA people are ranting on how good Taurus guns are now including the newer model semi's. What says TGO community? Experiences with them especially with the bigger bore ones? Has anyone had good results with the Judge shooting at distance? Mine seems to like the cowboy loads better than anything and if you go to a hotter hunting round, the accuracy suffers
  12. what did the rut look like for everyone? I live in Cheatham county just across the Davidson county line. I seen the most deer activity the weekend of Juvenile, the week following and it started slowing the opening weekend of muzzleloader. Didn't see any rubs or scrapes until second week of muzzleloader but deer never came around much except at night. What has everyone else been experiencing? I have a relative in Robertson county who has some good hunting land and they haven't seen many mature bucks at all this year, hardly no sign of rut and they typically get some real good bucks each year. Wonder how much the drought has played into this along with the hotter temps that were late?
  13. these Marlin bolts are sleepers amongst rifles. very accurate and well put together
  14. What's your experience with hunting the first year after logging land? I've hunted land that has been logged a few years afterwards and it always seems to increase deer within the ecosystem, but what about the same year it was logged and the first and second year(s) afterwards? What's been your experiences?
