  1. blaming video games, movies and TV for the problems with America's youth is some weak ass stuff.   who are these kids who never see light of day due to playing the PS3?
  2. loves Benny and the Jet's
  3. you got bewlitts and clips and stuff.  Scares me.   my only ammo rig is a ww2 set of suspenders and a belt to carry Garand clips
  4. J hooks long enough to hook part of the bike frame is the way to go.   Got one in my garage hung like that.  Works well 'cept for banging my head off of it every time I need to pull something out from where it hangs.
  5. you must have met Sam.  She is a very nice young lady.  Wish I could have gone.  If for no other reason than to laugh at people selling $80 bricks of .22.  I will quit shooting before buying from people axing more than 30 bucks for a brick of bulk stuff.
  6. this thread forced me to take the Garand outside today and blast off a clip of ammo.  I hope the neighbors enjoyed it.  :)
  7. pawn shops seem less ridiculous than some of the pricing seen in the classifieds here.
  8. first handgun was an Armi San Marco replica of a 1851 Navy chambered in .44.  Still have it.  It is not much of a shooter anymore gotta be real careful that the cylinder aligns with the barrel after cocking the thing.  I dunno how many rounds I put through it,  lots and lots at any rate.  I shot it one day about five years ago.  Cleaned and reassembled and it would not cock,  it fell out of time somehow.  I met a guy on HighRoad who said he could fix it.  I sent it to him in New Hampshire.  He fixed it and sent it back.  It worked and I got to shoot  it some more.  Now the hammer will drop in a stiff breeze and it does not lock up tight.   Still it was my first and I will never get rid of it.   I ought to shadow box it and put it on the wall. And I bought that pistol from Gander Mountain.  Mail order.  Mailed them a order form from their catalogue along with a check.  A few weeks later it came to me UPS.  IIRC that was back in about 1978 or so.
  9. I had a dead 100 foot hickory taken down over a year ago.  IIRC I paid $500 just to get it put on the ground.   I had to deal with all the mess and cut up the usable wood. Took a few days of burning the sticks and chainsawing what was usable into logs for firewood.  The guy came in with a small crew and a bucket truck.  They did exactly what I asked him to do.   I dug through my rolodex and found the guys card.     Reds Tree Service- 865-687-8927   You will never find anyone to come get it for processing.  I got a hundred trees and no one is interested.
  10. I thought the same exact thing when I read Leroy's post.  It is about the first post ever from Leroy where I said to myself WTF???.   Hillary is going to run off with it unless some serious trouble arises.   My only hope is libertarians run someone who the masses will vote for. Don't see that happening really though.  I really think it has no hope at all.   I know I am not voting for any republican or democrat at this point.   I am not sure at all what will even make me go vote, period.  there is NO real difference between the Repubs and Dems.  Neither party is a friend to people who believe in liberty.
  11.   I had some American Eagle a few years ago.  Traded Remington Golden Bewlitts round for round for them.  They were 40 round boxes.
  12. more of "who cares", no one will do anything.  The people in DC who actually can do something will do nothing.  This of course after raising symbolic holy hell over it all.   It does not matter who is in power.  All they care about is us footing the bill.   All of this crap is a smokescreen.  The government is here to help, yanno.
  13. some pitting in the cylinder and barrel is meaningless.   As long as the cylinder locks up you are GTG.   Try small loads, 15 grains or so and work it upwards until you get accuracy.   I have a steel framed '58 Pietta and it is a shooter.  I use 20 grains and have shot as much as 35 grains from it.  Use grits to get the ball closer to the edge of the cylinder and cover it with Crisco.  Fun as heck to shoot.
  14. I like cats,  just can't eat a whole one by myself.
  15. why is this even an issue?  Is it an actual competition?  Is Miss World even relevant?  Does anyone actually watch it?
  16. no one that can do anything about Obama's administration cares at all.  They are all part of the problem.
  17.     History 2 would have been your friend.  2 hour show about D Day this morning at 8 am and repeated sometime this afternoon IIRC.  I watched it this morning.  They also did a bunch of WW2 in HD right after the D Day show.
  18. Okay,  I give.  What is it behind him?   Great story BTW.   My father was in the Navy in WW2.  He was in Hawaii and repaired planes that flew off the Enterprise.  He had six brother who all were in various branches of the service, including Uncle Richard, who enlisted in the Marine's at 16 and fought at Peleliu (sp) and Okinawa.
  19. typical Obama admin tactics.  They truly are untouchable.  Yeah they may throw some underling to the wolves but the real culprits have no worries.  They are the ruling class.
  20. I am pretty sure if one uses smoke signals other people will know where you are at.  ;)
  21. not even a mention of it on Knox News Sentinel, disgraceful
  22. Freebird, gotta agree.  Way over rated and over played,
  23. oh yeah, there is one other song by I do not know the name.  Only have ever heard it at weddings.  It makes me glad I sneak liquor mini's into them things.
  24. what is a she bopper?
  25. why do we needs a Gods blessing?  Which God?  Whose God?
