  1. if possible I'd try to get a good look at the suspension.  If it needs a lot of front end parts the price is going to get jacked up quick.   Also pull off the oil filler cap and look to see if it has a milky residue on it.  If so you might want to avoid it.   That's about all I know.   PS:  just thought of one other thing.  Make sure the AC works.  And to do that you gotta get the truck to operating temp.   And don't forget some people are willing to lie to make a sale.     Caveat emptor
  2. so no one else got the letter?
  3. as far as I know Jones has gone by JJ forever.   The sign on the road pointing someone towards the jail has "Jimmy JJ Jones" on it as well.    If not all of the rest of you Knox residents got the letter he may be sending it only to people like me who took their permit course through the sheriff's office program for HCP's. I would guess they kept a database of people who took the course there.   as for the cost of mailing it is not 49 cents per piece.  The stamp is from a Pitney Bowes machine and is marked as presorted standard, cost 21 cents.   The only thing I found odd is that my permit does not expire for well over a year from now.
  4. I saw it yesterday on one of the news channels,  certainly is not very presidential.  But I have come to expect that.
  5. a few people have a different idea about what happened.   http://nationalreport.net/aliens-abduct-malaysia-airlines-flight-mh370/   http://www.ibtimes.co.in/articles/542800/20140311/malaysia-flight-mh370-alien-abduction-conspiracy-theory.htm   Interesting theories.
  6. Got this in the mail yesterday. I have read of sheriff's supporting 2A and HCP, this makes it look like JJ really means it.
  7.     LOL.   Not that there is anything wrong with that......
  8. I am probably wrong,  people around here will tell you I am almost always wrong, LOL.  But I think maybe Harte and Cohle will find out that this group of murderer's is too far reaching to be taken down.    I had not thought about them being killed but it may be likely as the "Animal Head" people must be extremely well connected to law enforcement and politicians.   there was one flash in the previews where a man who resembled Cohle was lashed to a bed frame,  You only get a very brief look at him, no clear face shot at all. But he was a white male with long blondish hair,  and he was shirtless.  I have been waiting for the shirtless moment for McConaughey.
  9. I don't do AR's but I am all about thanking Gordon for how he is.  Helluva guy.  Petra too ( though not a guy)   I am happy to call them my friends.
  10. I set the clocks ahead earlier Saturday,  It was nice having the extra hour a day earlier.
  11. Do you all really believe there are not guns in those cities?   I am pretty sure they be shooting back there.
  12. if you watch episodes On Demand at the end they have a five minute bit with the director or somesuch.  The episode 7 bit was really good.   He explained how he did not want the show to be about gore and shock (paraphrasing)  And purposely he showed Harte's reaction to the slaughter of the little girl.  It was very much spot on and left us to figure out how bad things got for the girl.  It was sickening to let imagination paint that picture. He also commented ona clip of Rust taking the Iberia Parish sheriff at gunpoint mentioning that we have seen the face of the killer.  I assume it was the lawn mower man and the sheriff is just a lemming in the killings.  Good stuff none the less.   Previews of the final episode had me on the edge of my seat.     I think the series will end without a firm verdict of what happened.   Can't wait until tonight.
  13.   Okay, how do you know he is lining his pockets?
  14. aren't we staying on DST from here on out or is that still in the works?
  15. ain't no one invading the USA.  As messed up as this place is no one wants to invade a place where everyone owns a rifle.
  16. I hope the guy at Academy doesn't lose his job. I don't wish that on anyone.   As for Pax,  well they come and they go.
  17. not the sharpest knife in the drawer are ya?
  18.     I guarantee not every one does that.  At least not in their line of work.  I received a couple of requests to hold back some product yesterday. Flat out said if you want it you gotta come on and get it while there is still some left.     Don't justify it by thinking everyone does it.
  19. Geez Caster, that is curmudgeonly even by my standards.   Good on the kid for a very nice act.  I doubt he did it to draw attention to himself other than to get a smile out of someone he related to his Dad. The uniform had to be why he chose that man to give the 20 to.   I know for fact it is tough seeing all your friends have a Dad to go running up to every day.  Hopefully someday his Mom will find a great guy to become his Dad like mine did.   I would almost guess that someone who works with the Colonel contacted a news outlet or the Colonel himself looking to payback the little boy.   Great story anyway.
  20. according to a member here it is all crap anyway.  So why buy it?   ;)
  21. Waiting for Chucktshoes to chime in on how to eat a banana.       As for the apple I prefer eating it the normal way.  The indention's work like a handle
  22. I called Haslems mayoral office after he had announced candidacy for governor.  I told whoever answered that I wanted to know why he was in MAIG,   I was told some story that he had renounced his membership and that he in fact never actually joined,  Some ex-staff member had mistakenly signed him up, once he found out he left the organization.  I politely called BS and said I'd never vote for him.   I think he will veto.  If he does it would at least show that while misguided he has a spine.
  23. Haslem is against it.   I am guessing he will veto.
  24. I kind of always found eastern block arms and ammo to be particularly good.
