Welcome to the forum, do not obsess with knockdown power, obsess over shot placement. Enjoy this place, there are a lot of knowledgable people here.

Welcome to the forum Dan! You might be able to give me advice on managing my ammo, I seem to go through it very fast, lol!

I am not implying anything by my question, what are you implying I am implying:confused:? If I had been telling the story I would have said a man attacked a couple. I know what you are getting at and I see less and less of it in mainstream media than I used to. Maybe I am hyper-alert to it now but I always notice when someone throws out the race card. No offense was meant and please do not find any. I meant nothing by my original post, but you all made me think about this more. I looked at the last three days worth of the News Sentinel. There is not one story i can find where race of any perp is mentioned. Nor is the race of any victim mentioned. the race of victims in the OP's post was not mentioned either.

You all make a lot of valid points, valid in both directions. For me I am for the death penalty. I would like to see the "no doubt of guilt" and a swift carrying out of sentence. In areas of lack of the " No doubt" it is prudent to look further. If found guilty with no doubt execution should take place within minutes. There was a movie I saw years ago about a murderer in the Soviet Union. He was guilty beyond all doubt, and when tried found guilty. As he was taken back to his holding cell to await sentencing the door opens he walks into the cell and you see a arm come up with cocked revolver and a shot is put into the base of his head, end of game, thanks for playing. I think some of this would be a good deterrent in our country.

Repeal the Second Amendment...?
Mike.357 replied to molonlabetn's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I think bearing arms for this reason is as valid now as it was back in the 1700's. Society likes to stick its head in the sand. I am not sure why, but the only angle I have not read about with anti's and guns is banning the discharge of firearms. If they made laws governing this what would the point be of owning them for sporting or recreational purposes as most guns are owned for? I imagine there are reasons, maybe some of you can educate me here. -
On Non-Fiscal Issues, you rank as a Centrist (40). On Fiscal Issues, you rank as a Centrist (42). y'all ain't gonna hate me now are ya?

I am happy the singer was able to fend off the attack. Seems the singer did not need a firearm to defend himself. All of us should be so well trained. You never know when crime will come your way and that is why we all need to be prepared at all times. The reason I post though is what does "african american" have to do with the story? If the perp had been white would you have stated he was?

I for one favor term limitations. Elected officials all to often grow roots that are near impossible to stymie. One only need look as far as Knox County and its Commission. Voters cannot be trusted to vote responsibley, that is not to say voters should not be trusted to make choices but rather all to many are uneducated in these matters. I cannot prove it from cited sources as my source is the History Channel but I remember seeing a show that was stating that the fathers of our country did not include term limits in laws. Their lack of foresight cannot really be criticized in my mind. Those people and I believe Jefferson in particular could not envison life long politicians running our country. I believe they were of the mindset that you do your duty then move on allowing other to do their duty. Of course age expectantcy was not as great in the 1700's as it is today. I do not think restricting pay would stop many from being elected time and again. Most if not all national level, even state level politico's are wealthy in their own rite and do not rely on income from their elected offices. My .2 cents worth Mike

I am not sure how to answer how it did other than I cut dead center more out of 20 .357mag rounds and 30 .38 special rounds than I ever have using any of my other handguns. I was shooting from about 20 feet. The front sight is a little hard to see but the gun seemed to aim really well naturally in spite of that. The recoil on the mag rounds took a little getting used to and I could definitely feel it in my wrist after shooting. I loved the feel of those rounds. Both the mag and special rounds spit flame but the .357 rounds were like flairs going off. It was getting dark as todays storm was fast approaching and that really showed off the flame balls. If I plan on shooting many mag rounds I really need to learn re-loading. The UMC rounds I shot were near 45 cents each from Wal-Mart. Can't afford too much of that.

I just got it yesterday and was able to put about 50 rounds down range today:D It is a sweet shooter and might be my most accurate handgun. I can't wait to do it again tomorrow!

Rainy day music? Has to be The Doors, "Riders on the Storm"!

Way to go, looks beautiful, bet it will shoot great too!

I picked up my new toy today. Bought it up in JC. It is a Ruger SP101:up:. It is used but I got an unbelievable deal on it. I got it for less than I had been told it was last week and then even less than I was told it was yesterday when I called to see if they still had it. I am stoked:D and can't wait to get some trigger time on it tomorrow. Only down side was when they ran the check on me the TBI said OK but the FBI computers were down. I waited an hour and finally had to move on. They called me 4 hours later and said I had gotten the okay as soon as the system came back up. I was lucky and was still in the area and was able to go back by to pick it up. Now my handle here finally makes sense. I guess I should mention it is a .357 Mag!!

GlocKing I am glad I have exposed you to something new, hehehe. Brank you prove that I am not totally alone with this. I used to love Buffet until i went to see one of his concerts six years ago or so. It was way oversold and may have been the worst concertI have ever been to. Really soured me on him as i believe he has final say so on the amount of tickets sold at the venues. I guess the weather puts me in a different moods or something, that and Outlaw Country keeps adding new artists and Classic Rock and Roll seems to always stay the same, no new songs, lol. I get set in my ways the older I get too.

Welcome to the site carry. I have to ask as I see you are from Dickson. Do you know two guys named Ken and Crutcher? They are the only people I know from there, I used to work with them while they were in Knoxville. They were the funniest people I have ever worked with, kept me laughing all the time.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes, I hope I get to meet some of you all in the future!

I pretty much listen to Classic Rock in the fall and winter and country in the spring and summer. Been that way for longer than I can remember. Actually since before classic rock was called that. Since it is summer I have been listening to Outlaw Country Sirius Channel 63. They do a pretty good job of mixing it up the way I enjoy listening to it. Right now I would have to say my fav's are all the Hank Williams, Sr. , Jr, and especially Hank III . And there are an incredible amount of bands doing covers of Johhny Cash that all sound awesome. Outlaw Country and hot weather go hand in hand for me.

I called Naifeh's office a while back and asked to speak to him. Of course he was busy in a meeting. I was asked to leave a message and expressed that I was hoping he would change his opinion on this bill and support it. The lady from his office I was speaking to basically laughed at my remark and said that there was no way he wuld be changing his mind. I could not believe how rudely I was treated, kind of took me by suprise. Made me lose my train of thought. I then said something to the effect that I hoped he would get voted out as he is not serving my best interests. That pretty much got me hung up on. I used to consider myself a Democrat but they and I do not agree on much anymore.

I wish Uncle Ted would invite me out for some black rifle shooting

Something is missing! Where is the report on how well she shot?

I am waiting for the mail to run my way. As it is now I carry at home either open or concealed depending on how my shirt lays at any given moment. While carrying in public it will be concealed unless there is some unforseen reason that OC would be more advantagous.

if not supporting this bill makes me a bigot then let me change my handle to Archie Bunker.
