Front page story in the News Sentinel today naming local $2300 contributors to Fred's campaign. I am not sure what the big deal is really. If you want to support somebody then why try to hide. I guess people might have their reasons but I would not care.

The BPS store in Kodak is posted as a " weapons must be checked". I assume that would apply to new purchases as well. Gander Mtn. in Farrugut has the same rule about employee assistance to the door. I read the TICS story in this mornings paper and it stated that this is the first time the system has gone down for "more than five minutes". That is not true or I was lied to. Back in June when I bought the SP-101. I was held up for six hours on the purchase and I was told that the TICS system was down. I love that place, great milsurp section in it.

Can't wait to see you and Julie again Tower. Is the baby eagle to take the place of the one she disliked? I picked up the new 1911 a couple of Tuesdays ago and will have it with me as well as a few to be determined noise makers. +1 Can't wait

Shouldn't they at least called it a "fotey mo-mo" pistol?

After further review. (thanks Shannon) I believe I use the Modern Isosceles. Did not know it had a name, I always just thought of it as shooting from a ready position, sort of like what I used to teach kids back in the day coaching little league.

Modified Isosceles Modified Weaver (Chapman) Someone please explain these.

that makes an effort to explain trees looking alike but does not disprove the aircraft. I was kind of disappointed in it actually. Who cares if it is 2 or 4 UFOS? I am not saying the original is factual, but I see nothing that disproves anything either. The craft do not look alike either in the different clips. I lived in Fla for a while and lots of palm trees look a lot alike, but I see two different aircraft in these videos. Is it true???? Who knows.

Ramifications of an old DUI

Sleep safely and stop beating yourself up. No one knows what you did or will be checking back that many years. Sometimes shadows follow us but in your case it is time to stop worrying. -
East Tn TGO Members SEPTEMBER 2007 Meet
Mike.357 replied to Marswolf's topic in Events and Gatherings
if it was a hillbilly gun range I never noticed. I thought it was a great place to shoot, very private and secluded. And anyway it was a great time. As always I look forward to it. -
What do you all make of this? I found it on another forum and had not seen it before. If it is real it is pretty freaky. Does not look or sound like anything I have ever seen before. The sound coming from the woman on the video also adds to creepiness alright. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=833_1186752934

Boom, I will probably be bringing it, gotta take out a loan to buy some more ammo for it, lol GlockKing I read somewhere you sold yours, why you still have it as a sig line? And you know you regret selling it!

Finally was approved after ten days and picked this up on Tuesday. I shot it Wednesday before going to work and it was a lot of fun to bang away with. Hopefully going to send some more downrange tomorrow. The only thing I do not care for are the grips, but the gun show is next weekend and maybe I can find something I like there.

I have no clue how to actually spell it though I know the principle of it.

So your buddy owns a bar
Mike.357 replied to saintsfanbrian's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I am sorry if I inferred that you did, not my intention. My concern with alcohol and guns is that someone who is not the gun owner will be drunk and think it is funny to touch it or do something otherwise as stupid. I believe that is why the law is in place to keep guns out of on site consumption places. I really doubt anyone who takes the time to be a member here and post here regularly would do something like that. We are all the good guys, Well most of us, heh I do not see the comparison, between smoking and drinking and guns. I agree that business owners should have the right to decide about smoking in their building or on their property. I absolutley agree, the gov't ought to spend their time doing more important things. I also do not think places like an Applebee's should be considered as "bars" but I do not know how they could legally distinguish between a restaraunt that serves alcohol and a plain old bar. -

Mike.357 replied to saintsfanbrian's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
It always amazes me when someone wants to figure away to get around the law and common sense. Don't get me wrong Brian, I am not being down on you, if you are just making conversation that is another thing. But alcohol and firearms are not a good mix. The law means no guns in bars, you are not an employee of your buddies bar so leave the gun out of the mix. Don't try to find some angle around it. Acting as your attorney I advise you to drink heavily, but non-armed. Of course my advice it worth the paper it is written on, heh. -
I would apply the rule of Achum's razor, where the simplest explanation is the proper one. No doubt they are just using systems already in place. No sinister reason need exist.

Nothing wrong at all with blended scotch. Single malts have very distinct tastes depending on where they are from, and unless you really know what you are buying you may end up spending a bunch of money on something that tastes too grassy or smokey. I find the blend is much more palatable. If I do scotch on the cheap it is Grant's or if i spend a little more it is Famous Grouse. I actually prefer bourbon but I can roll with whats available Definitly no soda in my whisky. I like a little water and some ice, oooooh it's good!

It's a beauty eh?

Single malt or blended?

I like the Blazer Brass ammo in general. I wish they sold value packs of the stuff.

Bingo! I do not believe I said the word ARREST, maybe I did, I am not going back and re-reading this entire thread. I did not mean arrest. Detain, handcuff, up against the wall, down on the sidewalk walk, palms up. That is what I meant.

No link, just first hand personal knowledge and attorney fees later it still is unresolved. Hopefully only about 5 more weeks. I choose to not share any more personal details here on this forum. Those that I care if they know (friends) have been told face to face about it. I clarrified my post but what I meant with confrontation was someone noticing a person OC and speaking up, confronting them about it. Not a gunfight or anything physical. Oreo's and milk are decent, not not an Oreo fan really, Nutter Butter is well, I guess I am not a fan of RKBPBC, ( right to keep and bear peanut butter cookies, yuck) but now Chip Ahoy's , and this will sound sick but I love it, dip them in cola. I prefer Diet Pepsi, delicious! I did once call the 800 number on the package. You all know the slogan "betcha bit a chip" I recited this slogan to the operator and told her, "betcha I didn't" They sent me a coupon good for anysize box of Chip Ahoy's. I traded it for the industrial size box from the local grocer. I want to say i remember it being like a $20 box of cookies, lol.

The one thing I found out when in the past I have used an electric razor is that I need to use it twice a day. One the hair on my face reached a certain length the electric would not do a very good job anymore. Using it in the morning and then about 12 hours later and it worked as good as a manual blade.

This is the exact purpose that OC was allowed in. Inadvertantly flashing your gun while carrying. The purpose was never to OC. All the proponents of OC will say that the law allows for it so do it. Fine. I took my permit class through the Knox County Sherrifs office. The class was taught by a Sgt Lett, who also trains new deputy recruits. Lett has been a cop forever. He specifically cited the Attorney Generals opinion about open carry. He also warned everyone in the class to think long and hard before doing OC. Knox County deputy's are trained to take a person down for OC'ing a weapon, plain and simple. If you are legal you will be released and get you gun back. But I already have seen what the local cops do around here, not worth it to me. And to anyone I care about I would really stress to them to not OC. I stand by my statement a while back in this thread about looking for confrontation and sooner or later you will find it. Time and a place for everything, most reasonable people would say that gun shops and gun training classes OC would be acceptable, but leave the building and put it under cover. PS: by confrontation I mean someone approaching you and questioning your OC, not a gunfight or physical confrontation, just to clarify.
