Like my Grandma used to say " common sense ain't common" Bunch of PC buffoons. There are a couple of schools around Knoxville that have banned the battle flag. -

why buy it when she can just comandeer it whenever she wants. He is out in the deep blue sea somewhere unable to resist, lol. You bringing that .22 target gun? -
Tungsten, we were on Gay Street downtown in Knoxville. there was a white supremacy rally there that day. I was there for a friends daughters wedding later that day. I have never seen a bunch of racist hicks en-masse and I wanted to see it with my own eyes. People should witness and counter protest these things. The cops near the rally sight were wanding everyone trying to enter. I had a pocket knife and was wearing an empty holster from shooting the previous day. I had no hcp at this point, it arrived in the mail 11 days later. The cops wanding said I needed to get rid of the pocket knife. We walked back to my nephews truck to get rid of stuff , keys, pocket knives, etc. I decided to remove the empty holster, no reason why I had it on other than I was wearing the same pants I had shot in the previous day and had neglected to remove it. Nothing illegal about a holster. THPman sees me remove holster and set other items on front seat of the truck. He approaches and asks for ID. I comply. he asks about the holster, I answered truthfully. He asks where the gun for it is. I say I shot the previous day and it was just still on my belt, gun is at home in safe. It was a nylon, slim profile ( Uncle Mike's) holster and basically unnoticable on your belt without a gun in it. I really never thought it to be a problem. he then asks to search the vehicle, I say let me get my nephew back here as it is not my truck and let him decide. My dumb ass brother tells him to go ahead and look. So low and behold, very unkown to me my nephew had a holstered S&W .40 in the glovebox. He is legal and has a valid permit from Ohio. Cop did not care that he claimed ownership and well, it went downhill to the rest of my story from there. Thats it in a nutshell.

Everyone should look at life, if even for a few hours from the wrong side of a jail cell. It is a character builder. I wish I knew someone who would take my case and try to get even. I know some shyster lawyers from a previous job but I do not believe a case can really be made. Maybe there is someone here who is a cop and can explain the difference between reasonable suspicion and probable cause. I personally would like to have recourse for the manner in which I was treated while under arrest. If the law treated a dog like I was treated they would get sued and lose big time. Heck, then the animal control catches a dog they get to ride in a ventilated "paddy wagon" and they get water. Keep in mind the heat that day was near 90 degrees and the humidity was sky high, about 12:30 PM. I got to sit , handcuffed behind the back, in an enclosed van, no air movement, no nothing, for about an hour. This is a full size van with small holding box/cage inside the cargo area, when I say no ventilation I mean no ventilation. I could not have been more soaking wet from my sweat than if I had jumped in a river. No exageration here. Then put in a standard paddy wagon There where about five other people in the male side of the wagon. Everyone handcuffed. Let me assure you if you have thick wrists, well the cops do not care. I had a purple mark on my right wrist that lasted 5 days. Again hotter than hell in there. Unbearable. I cannnot even begin to explain how bad it was. This lasted about 90 minutes while they drove around and picked up two other people. I am the first to understand that cops get hardened to criminals. They know all criminals lie. So anything I said was automatically thought a lie. But one distinction I could not help but notice between me and the others in my "carpool" is that they all looked like criminals. Half of them were drunk or on some hard drug tweaked out. Not hard to miss by smell and actions. They were dirty, and unkempt. Now I am not Mr. GQ but I was dressed in clean clothes, short hair, and I believe it would have been obvious I bathe regularly. I was not high or drunk. Well the Cops did not care one little bit. No questions were answered by this point, I mean nothing. any attempt to ask anything was met with being threatened. All sorts of threats. Comments like "we CAN make it worse, how about we let you all sit there for two more hours, how about we make sure you miss dinner at jail". This comment was not liked a bit my most of the other passengers, they had all taken this ride before, more than once. I was verbally abused by at least 6 officers from three different juristictions before being put in a wagon. I know in my heart that they all knew the arrest was BS and would not stand so they were doing their best to try to get a response out of me to get an added set of charges like resisting or assault. At one point in the intitial interview, not handcuffed. I asked the THPman if I could smoke. he said yes. I lit up and he told me to put it in my mouth and then cuffed me behind the back. Right at that moment a Knoxville motorcycle came at me and slapped me across the mouth hollering " he said to get rid of it" I mean flat slapped me across the face. He was immediatly escorted away by two of his kind. I assume so I could not read his badge or name. There had to be 15 cops that witinessed this. All in all I estimate I was being observed by 15 to 20 cops, THP , Knox County Sherrif and Knoxville PD. the whole thing was unbelievable. I was bailed out with cash at about 6:30 PM. Well this is starting to read like a bitch fest, but you all get the idea by now. It will take time for me to not be pissed off by all this. Thanks for letting me vent.

good deal Cody, he is closer to where you are and it will be easier on you probably. See you up there dude. -
My apologies to Disney and anyone else I ticked off with my response to what happened. No excuses, I am sorry.

Just trying to shame you all into following through with it. BTW where is Winchester, I am too lazy to mapquest it. And asking makes for better conversation. And when your shoot falls through I want to express that y'all are welcome to come to one of our shoots Tombstone- Mostly burnt powder and a lotta lead downrange. It is a real fun time and a chance for the most part to maybe shoot some stuff you do not own and meet some really great people. Phantom has a great range with a rifle range, pistol range, steel plates and ajail cell for when someone misbehaves Here is a set of directions to it, it is real easy to get to. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/showpost.php?p=23193&postcount=27

Mike.357 replied to Marswolf's topic in Events and Gatherings
Thats funny right there, I had thought the same thing but failed to post it. You figure out if you are gonna make it to the shoot Phantom? -
You do not have a clue, and you have no business making accusations about things you do not know about. I was wrongfully arrested in June on a illegal posession of a weapon charge and the truth came out in court on Thursday. They do not dismiss cases that have a leg to stand on.
-
Have you ever owned a Hi-Point?

no date, too much up in the air I think. They never seem to pull these shoots off. I will be in OR with Phantom The E.TN.Tribal Band of the TGO Rules!

I am coming 100% fer sure! Tower, is there a time you want to meet? Cody, do you have a ride or am I taking you? Phantom are you bringing Cody? Woohoo, lets go shootin!!!! -
My hearing was this morning and my case was dismissed . I am free and clear and in about thirty days or less my record will be expunged. I was given two official copies ot the courts findings, one to send to TDOS so they do not revoke my HCP and the other to keep on my person when I carry or really anytime so some dumb misinformed cop does not try to arrest me for something related to this case. I am happy beyond belief and feel like the weight of the world is off my shoulders. Can't wait to go shooting in Kingsport this weekend.!

Way to go Greg, I am extremely pleased that your situation is straightened out. Send some of the good mojo to me for tomorrow morning and lets see if it works here too.

KRISS .45 Cal submachine gun
Mike.357 replied to fury2neon's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
The gun was featured on Future Weapons last night, I guess it was a repeat. The thing was very accurate even if odd to look at. The whole deal with it is the lack of recoil. The action works in such a manner that the recoil is diffused within the action. Big improvement over a Thompson. -
So do you give out the HCP even if you are not armed? I wonder about this as I have not been carrying but I do still hold a permit.
-
bt, I took no offense at what you said. I was raised catholic and did not remember ( and still don't) them saying the death penalty has its place. I guess the nun's weren't hitting me hard enough when they taught that, lol Rabbi, yes Cleavon Little playing Sherrif Bart. Blazing Saddles was on one of the cable channels a couple of weeks ago and that is what prompted a new avatar. It is one of my top-5 favorite movies. I am gonna have to get it on a disc one of these days, every time it is on TV they edit it too hard.
-
I can't wait for some of what I like to call "brown liquor weather". But I also think any prediction of the demise of summer still a little early.
-
bt, I did not mean to doubt you but I am moderately suprised by your findings. And I suppose that nothing the Catholic church does really suprises me. I do find their justification odd. rabbi says You are not Catholic??? I'd of never guessed . But in spite of this you know darn well what Len referred to and what I meant. You cannot act so smart all of the time then want to play dumb when it is convenient, c'mon.
-
I want to see documentation of this. rabbi says I think you and everyone else on here knows the difference between "killing" and "killing in self defense" Putting a convict to death is killing, plain and simple. Justify it all you want, but it is not the same as with self defense. Just as dead but not the same.
-
To me this situation has some humor in it. :D Len says Now to me as a casual observer of this situation what I see is this. Here are two ethnic males coming up on a white man. These two have their eyes up and heads on a swivel. Simply being aware of their surroundings. Unless I see it wrong they were profiling you and were putting on their "tough :grouchy:act" to keep the man from messing with them. Sounds like all three of you did a good job or that all three of you are overly paranoid. Also a guess is they work for the state and were worried they weren't packing either.

Mike.357 replied to Marswolf's topic in Events and Gatherings
Corryton, CORRYTON, not Coryville. Like I said I will not know 100% for sure until sometime Thursday, More than likely my situation will work out so that i can go. I also have convinced the higher powers around here that we can celebrate the grandsons birthday on another day or later in the day when I get back. And so no one wonders, I have no intention of bringing a 5-year old to a shoot. I suppose Cody that you ought to meet me at the Weigel's on the corner of Emory Road and Tazewell Pike. -
Aha, we do have common ground!
