  1. Canadian whisky is rye
  2.   pawn shops will buy anything that is stolen.
  3. I like the watering down
  4. this thread is worthless without pics
  5. we have plenty of the Jack Rye stuff.  I am sure it is crap like all their other products.  It is similar to Jose Cuervo in regards to it all being about advertising,  throw Bacardi into that mix.   I firmly believe that Eagle Rare and Blanton's are being held back to make it more Pappy like in regards to demand.  Kind of ,  "if you can't find it it must be the best out there." No doubt Eagle and Blanton's as well as Elmer T Lee are very good bourbons,  same with Weller 12.   but no one can justify why it is not readily available.   In the past all of these were easy to get,  now not so much.   I figure they are trying to raise the price or raise demand by making it hard to get.   If Angels Envy was so good why do they mess with it by finishing it in Sherry Casks or Rum Barrels?   That in itself tells me it can't stand on it's own merit.   The Jefferson  "Ocean" is very good,  not sure it is worth the price, but it is really good stuff.
  6. Hope it serves you well ,  nice looking ride
  7. where did you find Eagle Rare?     We have a new bourbon,  it is Calumet Farms.  The color is perfect.  NO clue how it tastes or where it is distilled.  The fine print is so fine I can't read it.  I can't hardly believe it makes no mention of the distiller.  Only mention of anything about that is it is bottled by a company for another company.  Retails for about 45 bucks.   Had a good laugh today,  someone called wanting to know if we had Pappy,  then wanting to know if I knew where they could get any.   I simply replied that no we had none, I doubt there is any to be had in East TN for a fair price.  I recommended Noah's Mill as a better option.   We did get some Elmer T Lee Reserve a week or so ago.  I about fell over when I saw the one bottle on our shelf.  It lasted thirty minutes into my shift that day.  Sold it to the first customer who asked for a recommendation.   The Ky Derby Woodford Reserve is available.  Nice looking label.
  8.  totally disagree.  What does a Saiga do that a WASR doesn't?   I'd put my WASR up against any other AK I have ever seen or shot.   You certainly don't want to be downrange of me if I need the WASR to defend my home.
  9.   I remember the 60's.  I am sure it was called a war back then.   There was a saying in the late 60's " Make love, not war"  We watched the Viet Nam war every night on Walter Cronkite's news.
  10. it is along the same line as getting questioned about gun restrictions.  More times than not when I reply to those types of questions with an answer like " do you think criminals care about going past signs that say No Guns"  you can almost see a light bulb go off. I can't recall anyone asking me about shooting someone.
  11. an SKS or an AK is the way to go.  A bolt rifle is ridiculous,  especially a Mosin Nagant.   I'd get an AK variant.  a SKS is way to long,  an AK is a manageable length.  If I think bad guys are trying to get in my door they will meet a WASR.   Joe Biden says all you need is a double barrel shotty.   YMMV
  12. from myself and most anyone who is a father I find this thread in very poor taste.   If I was the girls father and saw this thread I'd be looking to have a talk with you.
  13.     Nice to see you post again Eddie.  I hope you are doing well.   I don't think anyone could blame you for being scarce.   I am sure I'd have lost my mind.   And I miss Shannon a lot too.   I am thankful for having met and being able to spend some time with him. Every once in a while one of his threads pops up and it always makes me do a double take.
  14. I suggest one thing.  Get a laptop with a touchscreen.  Windows 8 is apparently designed for use with one.     I know a couple of people who have one without the touch screen and seems it is hard to get used to.   Mine has the touchscreen and the only trouble I have with it is errant touches of the mouse pad that makes things happen on screen.  If I stick to using the screen it goes well.
  15. I think it might have had the best episode ending scene yet.

I'd buy a Hi Point first.
  17. i would not have bought it either.
  18. there is no charge for parking at gun shows in Knox.  I am pretty sure if that started the gun shows here would die.   And without the regular vendors we all expect to see at gunshows you would have a gunshow worthy of the Smoky Mountain Gun and Knife Show.  Which I could host in my driveway.
  19. best of luck with your fantasy
  20. what channel is doing the Dusk til Dawn thing?
  21. thanks for not holding that against me Doc.    And fwiw I was selling it for a co-worker at the time.
  22. sorry, did not mean to open a can of worms or a cup of hate.
  23. almost everyone uses oxygen to climb the mountain.   They can have all the technology they want,  not sure how it will help with the weather or the delays on the way up, especially at Hillary's step.
  24. Just watched it On Demand.  Pretty entertaining stuff, definitely twisted and dark.   For sure will continue watching.  And Saul is in it!.   But like other FX shows it is covered in commercials and with On Demand they do not allow you to fast forward.  The first half hour was commercial free but then they sure made up for it.
  25. how do their guns get worn out?
