  1. I do not see much chance of this happening. Way toooooooooooo many liberal do-gooders involved with it having any chance to succeed. Remember it's for the children yanno.
  2. Nothing wrong at all with the OP posting his info here. Does it really matter if it is a first post or his 101 post? If Paul came to Knoxville I might could see myself going to hear him, but I am not driving to Nashville for much of anything.
  3. What people is this you speak of? I would sure vote for a candidate running with that plank in their platform. It would not bother me a bit if all immigration was just flat stopped in this country.
  4. stupid question now. If a handgun is locked in the trunk, seperate from ammunition or magazines still considered " in posession" in your opinion? Something else I just thought of. What about Rest Stops on the interstate. Are they considered parks? Is carry legal in these places?
  5. Wouldn't that really only apply if Paul ran as an independent? Since he is on the republican primary ballot there is no split. I also doubt he would run as an independent if someone else gets the republican nomination.
  6. I am going to Indiana this weekend so I have been researching reciprocity between TN, OH, and KY. I could not find solid info from Indiana, even their state website is vague, but I did find a contact number and the nice lady with the state police told me my TN permit is good in Indiana. Information for Ohio and KY was fairly easy to find and of course they are good to go to as well. The nice lady on the phone did advise me to wear the gun concealed, although OC is legal in Indiana. Sounded like she was being nice making conversation rather than bossing me so I will carry concealed as always.
  7. he hits the nail on the head and does not sugar coat it. I also feel he should have shut up with about 1:30 to go, his message was coming through loud and clear at that point. Kind of got muddled as it wore on.
  8. Whats the difference? One guy gets the gun one guy doesn't. Same result.
  9. proof yet again that Glock can be worked into any topic or thread. Anyone remember Stroh's beer?<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->
  10. I don't want to start an argument but if Ohio does not allow open carry with no permit then when did it change?. I do not know if that applies to a non-resident. Concealed carry in Ohio requires a permit. All this is too confusing. There ought to be some kind of national policy. But then that would require politicians to agree on things. I still want to know the difference between reciprocity and honoring a permit. I found this on the Ohio AG site about reciprocity between Ohio and other states. http://www.ag.state.oh.us/le/prevention/concealcarry/reciprocity.asp It shows there is an agreement between Ohio and TN. Here is a document dated in 2007 between Ohio and TN http://www.ag.state.oh.us/le/prevention/concealcarry/docs/cc_reciproc_tn.pdf
  11. Doesn't form 4473 make gun purchasing a priviledge?. It does make it so.
  12. Branket, unless something has changed here recently you do not need to disarm in Ohio. At least in May, Ohio had reciprocity with Tennessee. THP told my nephew his permit from Ohio was in order here in June. I guess things may change but I bet the website is not up to date. Anyway, what is the difference between reciprocity and just honoring a TN pernit? Sounds like the same thing to me.
  13. In Tennessee it most surely does. I have a piece of paper from TDOS that states carrying a handgun is a priviledge. Their words.
  14. Another prime example of why this country is going to hell in a basket. Why in the world would anyone but drug dealers not want this law in place?
  15. Tower are you saying you adhere to the carry policies of the individual states?
  16. If it is alright or not I think it would depend on the severity of the violation. Simple speeding or a tail light would be ok. Graft, drunkeness, chicken fighting etc is not ok. I figure then the next comment would be that there ought to be no slack at all for cops. If a cop pulls you over for simple speeding or a tail light, should he not have the perogative to let you go if he chooses? If he does let you go are you going to demand he ticket you in fairness to others he has ticketed? It only makes sense to me that they have some leeway in how they deal with their kind.
  17. there is a TWRA shooting range up off Maynardville Highway. Chuck Swann Wildlife Mgt. Area. I have been there one time There is no fee either. It has a couple of shooting benches too. I liked it alright. Follow this link to it http://www.twraregion4.org/TWRAWmas/ChuckSwanWMA.htm
  18. WooHoo, this BS is finally over. Well over aside from paying off the lawyer fee. TDOS sent a letter today stating that they have documentation sufficient to clear me. It also stated my permit is valid! I think I gotta go to WalMart or something
  19. Sounds like how I grew up, well the '57 part of it anyway. Mar's I bet at least 5 times in high school (76 grad)we were let go by cops after getting stopped with open containers in our car. I was driving twice when it happened. The worst was them making us dump out the beer. Never got more than a stern talking to and a threat to bust us next time. Times have changed. No way are they letting underage drinking go on, especially in cars.
  20. Just move right to the flying
  21. If you need a govt' permit to carry and gov't permission to buy something then it is not a right. And as for what 2A means, since the gov't determines this, it will take SCOTUS to explain it to the masses. And I do not think either side wants to chance what might be said if it was addressed properly. How many of you want a simple answer, one that cannot be overturned ever? Guns or no guns. Does anyone want the finality of that risk?
  22. Speaking of professional courtesy it certainly is. And doctors and golf pros do hold positions of authority. How many doctors hold the key to healing someone where a bad diagnosis could hurt more, and have you ever tried to get a tee time before? Golf pros hold the keys
  23. Mars says In these words lie great truth
  24. For you guys who are dealers which is correct. 1. Fill out form and recieve approval before paying 2. Pay for gun, then fill out form and wait on approval The first three times I bought a gun in TN I did it where you pay last. The last gun I bought I was made to pay first. I questioned this and was told paying first is the only procedure that is correct. Incidently that was the pistol I was denied on and the seller helped me file the appeal right away, it was overturned in about ten days. One time I also made an error on the 4473 on my address and was told that I had to wait a day and come back to do it again. They would not let me fill out another form or correct it. So which way is correct?
  25. Hills shmills, I live on the side of a ridge! When it floods your house Mars we will need more than an ark.
