  1. Welcome Scott! What do you like to shoot?
  2. If I get to shoot supported, and use a rifle. I practiced some with the Ruger .22 yesterday and I can hold a pattern in about minute of acre with it. :D Should read "Julie put up with my loafing long enough and it is time for me to find a job!" Mark I hope you are not too sick, nice to read you are getting off earlier but not for them reasons. Hopefully you will feel right as rain in short order.
  3. Welcome to TGO. Me too, PBC
  4. I am probably wrong but isn't a Cop "on duty" 24-7.
  5. But you do need to lead a body disposal clinic
  6. Alright Cody, I have seen you shoot and got the stuff! This is shaping up to be the best Pow Wow of the Eastern Band ever. If we are going centerfire and rimfire I am bringing the M44 and the left handed bolt rifle. Iron sights only for me. Maybe i can be tempted to bring the Dale Jarrett life size standup for a one shot sniper competition.
  7. oops, I guess I should have read it, lol 3 mags or 4?
  8. Oh I am in, I am in!! I doubt I can beat your high accuracy target pistols but me and the single six will throw down. Well maybe throw up, but I am in. Can we put Tower behind the targets for added incentive? oops did I just say that? hehehe and Fixed that for ya
  9. How many rounds? And put me down for bringing a shotgun. This time of year just feels like a shotgun. I suck but I am in for any competition you devise.
  10. One of the things here I find upsetting is the lack of knowledge the parents seem to have about what their son was into. I see nothing at all wrong with a parent purchasing a rifle and even a handgun for their child to use. But to leave the kid unfettered access to those guns is very irresponsible. As gun owners here I would dare say that we all act in a responsible manner when it comes to our hobby. People like this give us a black eye. How does a parent not know about their kid being this distraught and extreme? Even more so when it seems one of the parents is acting as their teacher. The parents are way more to blame for this than the boy. He has probably been screwed since the get go of life. It also burns me that the media sensationalizes to the manner at which they do. I do not trust that what they are telling is truthful. I see no assault rifle existing in this story. I see a bunch of airguns, knives and some potentially destructive devices. They call that Hi Point an assault rifle and it makes me question what else they are embellishing. What about the .22's? Is that part of the story true? I don't know.
  11. Where is it the other 4 nights? What protects you those nights?
  12. It is simple why this is no longer on TV. No one watches it and advertisers will not pay money to promote something no one watches. Some skill? Those 43 drivers are some of the best in the world at what they do. In spite of what you think race car drivers are some of the most well condidtioned atheletes in the world. The heart rate of a NASCAR driver in a race is near the level of a person running a marathon. The biggest beef I have with anything anyone here has said in this thread is accusing something of being gay. Nothing like bashing a sport by trying to pin a moniker on it that probably reflects your own phobias.
  13. it is good to know that Uncle Sam is looking out for those people. After all the bottom line is probably about it being for the children! And RBC, maybe NASCAR thinks you are gay!
  14. No doubt it was fully semi-auto, in media definitions definitely an assault rifle. Hand Grenades is a broad term too. What kind? Paint ball? Isn't a youth allowed to own a rifle?
  15. waiting for the permit is like watching water waiting for it to boil. Best to just put it out of your mind and then be suprised when it comes. I had figured mine was not coming, due to other circumstances, and with it completely out of my mind it was in the mailbox one day. Took 31 days if I remember correctly. Took them another 6 weeks to tell me there were some issues. Then less than ten days to verify validity once my situation was cleared up.
  16. What are these prisoners charged with? And why would the Saudis actually expect that the prisoners will return to face a court date?

    My Job

You guys are killing me here I am the warehouse manager of a wine and liquor distributor here in Knoxville. I do not know much but I do know that people will stop eating before they will stop drinking. There is an old saying in the liquor business, it goes something like this. " when times are good people drink, when times are bad they drink more" So it all works out And that does not even take into account my discount!!
  18. I vote for all the above. I also vote that the shootout between Mark and Tower ought to take place on the day of the Nov. shoot so there are ample witnesses.

    My Job

I am not an ITer but the thought of being unemployed bothers me greatly. Glad I am in a basically recession proof industry.
  20. Show me a camper that needs shooting and I will bring the ammo!!
  21. ATF, while not in the title of the post was there in some manner, if you know what I mean. The propane tank had to be 20 years old, not much chance it was still holding any gas. The 7.62X39 rounds easily went through it. We did have some .45ACP bouce back off the camper, not sure what it was hitting. .22lr went right on through most everything but was not shot at the propane tank. That propane tank had been strapped to the hitch, about twenty rounds at it nocked it clean off. That grill took so much ammo to cut down it was ridiculous. The smallest amount of metal still intact was holding it up. Finally one shot took it down.
  22. I was never mirandized, nor was I told at which point I was under arrest. I kind of figured when the cuffs went on was when it went down.
  23. Went camping up on the farm in Indiana. This is the result of having fun with a few firearms. The camper belongs to my younger brother and he was preparing to scrap it, he already had gutted the inside and we kind of put the "Loveshack" out of her misery. Best part was that a teen named Zach, there with his Dad, got his first chance to shoot a handgun. He put a lot of holes into the camper using my SAS Ruger .22. The kid had a smile a mile wide, Dad is says they are adding one of them onto a wish list. The man has more toys than anyone I know, no doubt Zach will have a .22 by Christmas. We also shot the SKS and he loved that too. Neither could believe the bayonet and grenade launcher. The second best part is that my wife did not complain once about my open carry or my concealed carry while travelling. Not too mention I kind of was sticking it to my very ANTI sis in law . All in all it was about the best weekend of the year so far. Nothing beats camping on the farm.
  24. if it is good for one it is good for all, I am guessing your permit is as a good as Branket's or mine.
