Dotsun, make sure you givr us a re-cap of the gun show when you get a chance. Good luck on finding that 1911 you were looking for. I don't think you can go wrong with an RIA and they are priced really good I think no matter where you buy one. While I do not look to buy a gun at the shows I usually manage to find a few other things I did not know I wanted until I find them there, lol.

Tower we will all miss you if you are not at the shoot next month. I hope you stay safe where ever they are sending you. Keep them safety lines attached bud. Hey, did you and Mark ever shoot it out over that .22 target gun? I would have ranked you as the favorite in the upcoming .22 Shoot and now from how you spoke of Mark's abilities he will have my number one seeding. -
I would love to get a lever rifle in .357/.38. You guys make me jealous.

Thats funny right there ,LOL:stir: -
I think you would do just as well to buy at a regular gun shop. From what I have seen at gun shows there is a wide variety of pricing for guns but not too often do you find exceptional pricing. My only advice would be to make sure you look around a lot before committing to buy from any certain vendor. I was thinking about hitting this show as it is fun to go and look but I think I will wait until the November show at the Expo Center. Do they charge for parking at Chilhowee?

My father had six brothers and all of them served back in WWII. I remember a big newspaper story grandma had framed and hanging in her living room where the local press made a big deal out of the 7 brothers all serving in various military branches at the same time. Myself, I was too young for SE Asia and now I am just too old.

I think Cody was using them as a shooting rest for his .270

I recall that 590 being a heck of a nice scatter gun and you shot it well. How much adjusting would it take to become as proficient with a new one?

I vote for Phantoms Seacamp .32. Never seen it fired, and what's is more I have never gotten to fire it.

Slushee Question for August: Manual Safety or No?

While I am not known for bashing Glocks I enjoy reading it when someone does. Makes for good drama. Glock owners seem to have their buttons pushed pretty easy yanno! Why would a 1911 not work after being frozen in a bucket of water and drug behind a car? Does it get to thaw first? I am assuming the barrel is not full of ice. Doubt any gun would fire in that condidtion. -
I voted for you to keep what you have. Do shotguns get shot out? You say it is getting loose? Sounds to me that it is just to the broke in and dependable stage.

WWB in 9mm is 15.77 before taxes at WalMart. I have used Wolf in .40S&W one box worth and it ran like crap through my Hi-Point. It seemed underpowered and would not cycle the gun properly. On the other hand I have put a bunch of Wolf in .45ACP through my RIA and it goes bang everytime. Does not seem any dirtier than any other brand, including S&B. The S&B all ran fine too. Cabellas seems pretty reasonable for ammo to me. Got a good deal on Wolf .45 and also on 7.62x39

I have a Sigma in 9mm just like yours. I think the trigger is a little heavy but I do not see it as any problem what so ever. Mine has over 1500 rounds through it and has never failed to cycle or go bang. I have not used S&B ammo in it. But have used S&B in other calibers and it has always worked there. Maybe you just got a bad box of it. I do know that a lot of gunnies seem to feel if you do not spend way more than what a Sigma costs then you have some substandard gun. I do not agree with that. I also shoot a Hi-Point in .40S&W and it might be my best shooting gun. So to me cost is not relevant. We have that monthly around here, you might consider making the trip sometime. Make a weekend out of it and see how the other half rolls.

That is a lot cleaner and more to the point than what you wrote at first. The only thing I might change on it is You wrote I would prefer "Dear Program Manager Handgun Carry Permit Office," Just my opinion is that is is more specific than " to whom it concerns. And that is probably how the letter to you was signed. If not, then specifically greet the person who sent it(or their title in lieu of not knowing their name.) Also make sure you send your information to the attention of the Program Manager Handgun Carry Permit Office. I assume the address in Nashville is at the TDOS. I do not know if my opinion is right or wrong on how you were going to do it or as far as my advice goes. All I know is that is how I did it and achieved the desired results. I can relate to you probably feeling ate up by this. I was on a rollercoaster of emotion for four months while my situation was being resolved. Get arrested and figure "well there goes the HCP" then recieving it in the mail a few days later, then getting mail more than a month down the road telling me my permit was not valid. Then waiting for my hearing and getting the documentation to send to TDOS. I can relate to how you are feeling. It will all work out for you. I recommend you have about four fingers of bourbon and two fingers of water and watch the rest of Blazing Saddles on CMT right now. It will cheer you up.

I am a big fan of those types of bullets. They are the same thing I look for when buying rounds to practice with in .357mag, less chance of an errant ricochet. And I am all about some CHEAP shooting. I am really excited about learning this stuff. Kind of cool too is that when we load these things we can fire them right away to see how they work and adjust if needed. Do you know if the Lee Loader for .357 will also adjust out to load .38 special? If this works as well as I think it can I might pick one up and try it for .45ACP. Boom asks See what you are gonna miss out on, lol But I can understand you can't come since it involves the newest little Boom and Mrs. Boom -
My guess is the old " file in a cake" thing. Yanno to break out of the hoosecow. as for your letter I would not send it. Anything you send them will more than likely just be considered hearsay anyway, your opinion, and I doubt they care about your opinion. Just send them the documentation they need and a copy of their original letter to you. Ask them to let you know about your pending permit, maybe in a brief note stating what is included in the envelope. It will all work out. I do have faith in TDOS. They cleared my permit up in about ten days from mailbox to mailbox.

Careful with the comments expressing impatience at being able to legally carry, and the hoping that you can carry on Halloween. Sure enough Mr. Murphy might come out that night. If you for some reason do need to deploy and use the weapon an investigator for the DA will find you here on this site, read your posts and surmise you could not wait to go out and shoot someone. I know it is tinfoil hattish and all but just the same.....

Accurate#2 is not on the list with my loader. I don't doubt that it will work anyway but we will need your cook book for a recipe. Since that powder is not on the list I imagine we will need a scale instead of the 7cc scoop powder measure that came with the loader. I have the mallet, safety glasses and caliper. I have looked for Wideners the last few times in JC but could never find it. I thought it was on AJ Hgwy (or whatever it is called in JC). Are the bullets lead or FMJ? What kind of primers? Are primers for a magnum casing different than for a non-magnum? sorry lots of questions ,lol. -

Those prices are way better than anything I have been able to scout out around here. And that stuff will work with my Lee Loader? I will make sure I pick up some case lube too. Do you have a recipe book for loading .357? Man I am more excited than ever to come shooting!! -

Mark@Home said What is it that you got? I can't wait to come up. Wish the shoot was this weekend:) -
I want some kind of semi auto .22lr. Probably a Ruger MK. It would round out the handgun collection nicely.
