  1. If I remember correctly I read about this on the Cincinnati Enquirer website. The guy not only missed, but also chased the would be robber outside and fired shots out on the street. I do not remember reading that he was charged with firing the weapon, although the cops said something the the effect that they do not encourage shooting outside like that.
  2. I think it is set for Oak Ridge Dec. 15 see the thread.
  3. there ya go Tungsten, fixed it for you. Okay that was juvenile and in poor taste. But I have to admit I crack myself up sometimes.
  4. pink, toffu, what??? Gotta admit never heard this one before. BTW Welcome to the zoo. Check out our thread for Dec. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2826 whether you like it or not you are not part of the Eastern Band here is what you have missed http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2462
  5. If I lived as close to Hero Gear as you do I know where I would be looking. and to both you guys, when are you going to tell us your " I just went to WalMart" story? heheheheehe
  6. What a great day at the range! First off I want to thank Mark and Sue for being the best host and hostess in all of Tennessee. You both went way above the call of duty and every one in attendance was treated to a first class day at the range. Sue, thank you for the wonderful spread of food that you prepared. Hotdogs, chili, fixins, chips, drinks(both hot and cold). Not only did we have some fine shooting but the food was second to none! Your "chow" pic really did not do it justice. Nothing burps like a chili-dog and that hot apple cider was just the ticket for a cool crisp afternoon outside. Mark thank you for running a great contest with the .22's. Everyone shot well and there was no doubt that you as our host was also our champion :no1:on the firing line. Thanks also for the coaching on the proper way to sight and shoot for the 10 ring. This get together and shoot definitely set the bar for others to strive for. Tower and I got to do a little wheel gun shooting during the loading clinic. Between the two of us we helped each other shoot better and tighter spreads and I was able to make great strides in properly gripping the SP-101. And our impromptu, informal 1911 shootout between James, Tower and myself made for a real good time. Unfortunately for C.A.S. our time ran out before he got to shoot the .38 specials he brought but he learned a skill that will serve him for the rest of time as a shooter. I know he will put that reloading to use. Cody also brought some apples that Tower and James turned into salad with a dozen or so rounds out of the 12 gauge. I take some credit with quality throws of the forbidden fruit for you all to shoot at. Boom and Pokey making it was a most pleasant suprise especially after reading about Boom's waterheater. It was nice of the wife to give you a pass so you could come and shoot. I hope you guys were able to get her some hot water tonight. My Mosin Nagant is looking like new again after using the cleaning kit prize from the .22 competition. That .30 cal cleaning milsurp package that was included worked great, my bore looks like new in spite of corrosive ammo. And while I also shot with the girls I can also claim I kicked their butts:taunt: They most definitely are the fairer sex and I am especially glad Julez was not there to put me in my place. All kidding aside, Julie we missed you and wished you did not have to work today. Hope to see you next time. Time for me to get back to cleaning the firearms. Thanks again Mark is was a great day, the best ever!
  7. Congrats on finally getting your HCP's:clap:
  8. CAS, I will wait until 9:30 at the Breadbox place. If you all are going to be later than that call me @ 228-8451 Post something if you read this.
  9. What time and where are you meeting me Cody? This is only a test.

    Seecamp?

I think phantom got the seaspan because he was able to pick out his own personal serial number, among other reasons he may tell us.
  11. I am going to get a book here soon. But there are also plenty of resources here on the internet too. Try going to You Tube and enter in the search "cartridge re-loading" or something along those lines. There are several demonstration videos I have watched. And another place I found that has a lot of info and a lot of helpful people is at High Road. Here is a link to their re-loading forum. http://www.thehighroad.org/forumdisplay.php?f=15
  12. the .357 is coming for sure, gotta get on the road. Big truck full of wine to go out this morning. Will post again tonight.
  13. Nice, loaded with some .38special +p Corbons or something similar it is very easy to shoot.
  14. yeah Canyn, the old "it's in the mail" routine Congrats almost, not that I need to tell you but let us know when it arrives. Maybe we can alert the media;)
  15. I saw some in Bearden today at about 1:30. I also have a driver running a route in Tri-Cities today, he said it was snowing like a blizzard up there and there were already "#&@%$!#*@ idiots that don't know how to drive" on the roads. Personally I feel it can snow all it wants after I get home on Friday afternoon.
  16. This is acceptable due to the lower powered .45acp cartridge. Looks like that 1911 in the OP was made with low quality metal. I bet it had nothing to do with ammunition.
  17. Cody, read the posts dude, lol or print out this post! take I-75 south. Go east toward Asheville on I-640. The second exit you come to will be Washington Pike Exit. Take that exit and turn right at the light. The gas station is just to the left. If you get to the Home Depot on Washington you went tooo far.
  18. Thanks for this post! What happens to you being able to carry if your new permit does not show up by the expiration of the old one? Brian says Can you not do that in Memphis?
  19. ricks, i don't want to speak for Mark but I would imagine you can bring and shoot whatever you have. I doubt your babies are any louder or obnoxious than my Mosin but I am bringing that too, along with a few handguns , .40, .45, and of course the ,357mag. Gotta have something to offset them wussified .22 rounds.
  20. I am amazed Eddie that your Mosin rusted that fast. I am trying to think how long of a time frame mine has sat between shooting and cleaning, but I doubt it has sat as long as yours did on the drive home. I still would have not thought even a few days would much matter. I guess it does.
  21. I am not sure about all this rust talk. I have a model 60 that is near 25 years old and up until this year I never did the first thing to take care of it. It has little to no rust at all on it. My 1851 Navy was kept in the same manner, though I did clean it well after shooting. It is 20 years old at least and has no rust what-so-ever. But now since I have invested in a RSC I keep a can of rechargable dessicant inside. The dessicant claims to work for 6 months between chargings but I do it ever couple of months. So far no sign of rust on anything inside the safe. Before putting anything inside it and after cleaning/oiling they get a good rub down with a silicone cloth. So now that I am over the top with taking care of my guns I figure they will rust to a pile of red dust within the next couple of years.
  22. Thanks Phantom I will check that site out. Kind of funny about the sig line, lol
  23. Welcome to this place. I hope you post a lot. We are seriously short on cop opinions here.
  24. I prefer googling or You Tubing. I have found videos on you tube that show disassembly of an SKS, Model 60, 1911, Mosin Nagant and Remington 870. Have not looked for any others.
