  1. I read and post on occassion at High Road. That holier than thou attitude gets to me sometimes. Life is too short to not have some fun. I am not ready to try the open carry thing quite yet. I am not paranoid about printing but I try to not let it peak out too much from my jacket or shirt tail, One lady at a WalMart of all places definitely saw the thing one day as I reached to look at a DVD. She did not look weirded out or anything but was for sure looking at me. LMAO!! Way off topic but I just flipped channels and MolonLabeTN's avatar was on the screen. No lie!! Dr. Strangelove is/was right at the point his avatar came from.
  2. Glad you finally got it. Now be sure to let us know how the WalMart trip worked for you. remember people are going to be staring at you.
  3. chewing gum will work
  4. it's pretty obvious whats going on here.
  5. I am going to call that mall and make sure they know that their signs are not legally binding. And I am going to tell them what needs to be on them for them to be legal. sense of humor, shmense of humor.
  6. Glad to read that nothing was fatal in your revolver. Bring it out to the shoot next weekend
  7. Basically unless you are willing to spend thousands of dollars you are buying a residential security container. The listed fire ratings are better than nothing. Mainly they will keep little fingers out of your guns and it will keep honest people honest. Also works well to deter smash and grab type robberies. But they will not keep a determined burglar out. If you own a sawz-all inside the safe is a good place to keep it. Make sure you bolt the thing to the flooring or foundation too. Try to let as few people as possible know you have it. Someone sees you moving it in they know you own guns. Both of the ones you are choosing between look nice and should serve the purposes it was made for.
  8. yep. store rule. Form says it is optional, clerk behind the counter says GM has to have it there
  9. Gander Mountain in Farragut requires your SSN to purchase a gun. They will not run the 4473 without it.
  10. ranting and had second thoughts
  11. Outdoor range on private property, $10 range fee. Other than that bring whatever you think you need for a day on the range. Typically people bring drink and food. There is a gas grill that always gets used. It'll be a hoot!
  12. anonymous call from a pay phone then<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->
  13. The "why Mars hates Glocks" thread was much more entertaining.
  14. then prepare to forfeit it if it turns out to be hot. Know who you are buying from is the best defense. This is what would make me nervous buying a gun from someone in the aisle or parking lot of a gunshow.
  15. I heard because of holidays and all that they do not issue permits in December:devil:
  16. Kind of apples to oranges but my Ruger SAS .22 has this feature. I believe the recess is why that particular .22 can be dry fired. Now I know what p&r means.
  17. James. We get together the third Saturday of the month to shoot. This month it is in Oak Ridge. Check this post for directions and what not. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/showpost.php?p=40469&postcount=56 Check this thread for the shoot http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2826 You ought to come out, it is great fun. You'll get to meet a bunch of us, well thats always a downside, lol. But just the same it is fun. Why are you so sold on shooting .357mags? .38's are cheaper unless you are rolling your own. As for the Hi-Point, some auto loaders are finicky about ammo. If WWB works then stick with it. I have a Hi-Point in .40S&W and it had some hiccups in the first few hundred rounds but in the last thousand or more it runs great. No matter what the snobs think there is nothing wrong with them. Rabbi, explain to the uninformed (like me) what pinned and recessed means.
  18. there you have it James, straight from the Rabbi's mouth, errr fingers. Rabbi all I would say in favor of my Ruger is that I can shoot .38specials, 357mags and I do not have any trouble ejecting casings. I never shot a S&W revolver so I do not have much to compare mine to. How much more dough would you put into James' handgun?

    Sad

back in about 1990 I had a 14 year old cousin blow his head off with a shotgun out behind his house. I tell you that funeral was about unbearable. I can't imagine what it is like to bury one of your own children.
  20. I'd be slitting my wrists if my mortgage went up $650. When we bought I was very specific to the banker that there was NO WAY I was going the route of an ARM. My rate could be better I suppose but I can afford the payments. The way they are building houses around here I think I could already double my money just on the lands value. Had one real estate guy tell me he could more than double what I paid and he had no desire to see our house. I imagine they would knock my house down and just divide up my land to put a dozen houses in. Hopefully when I am ready to sell some years down the road the story will be the same. The gov't has no business bailing out people who are stupid and get in over their heads.
  21. Your guys permits are never gonna come
  22. I do not think I would put any more money into it. For what you have spent you could have gotten something else that looks nicer. I do not know about value of that S&W revolver. For comparison I bought a used Ruger SP 101 in .357mag for a lot less than what you have into yours. One of these other guys will be able to tell you if your S&W was worth it. You going to come to the shoot in December?
  23. Mine is more of a bug in bag as well. Priority for me is to get home, unless Oak Ridge goes up in a big radioactive puff. Then more than likely the prevailing weather would not be a bonus here in Corryton.
  24. Rabbi I knew you would have a great comeback to my JMB/revolver comment, you did not disappoint! My .357mag only has a five round capacity. Maybe JMB got a hold of it!
  25. Looks to me like it was shot in the west somewhere. I have not looked up their website but I do not think they are in TN. I wonder if her guns ever get in the way of her, errrr gun.:stare:
