  1. James, I left a message on your phone.
  2. James you need a commercially available case lube such as "Unique" which is available at Gander Mtn. Candle wax is not going to work properly and WD 40 is not a case lube but a water displacer.
  3. S&B casings are reloadable. Don't know what utility calipers are. The one I use came from Harbor Freight and cost about $15. Just take you time and follow the instructions, you will do fine. Keep the powder sealed up while seating primers though. Just thought of something. Have you bought case lube? I have seen no mention of it from you.
  4. The boss took the revolver to Guns and More last night. He said they went ape over it! One of the people there found a serial number. it is on the bottom strap(?) under the cylinder. They took that number and looked it up in a book and determined it was made in the 1920's. He was also advised to not shoot it unless a gunsmith checked it out first. And also advised to just put it up and not let anyone open it up. I know it is an antique and all but what good is a gun that you can't shoot? I told him to get it looked at and come with me to our next shoot and lets have a go with it. Anyone know about .38 Colt long ammo?
  5. What year is it from and what arsenal?
  6. you would get a caliper at a hardware store or Harbor Freight has them. after looking closer at your pics it seems the caliper you have ought to work. brass you might need to order off the internet or just save the brass you get from store bought rounds. Be careful loading .38's as the recipes are different from .357 mags. I am not sure but i do not think you want to use magnum primers in .38's either.

    Molon Labe

Yep Boom, that is Oleg's website. Tons of great photography on it.
  8. in spite of Canyn you better stick with Fed-Ex, after all the militia is after Big Brown.

    definitely looks like Oleg's work.
  10. I already have the tacticool wheelbarrow and I will let them mount full auto weapons on my quads if they will let me start as a Captain or something. I ain't going in their militia to be low man on the totem pole.
  11. Thanks 2How, the one pictured at the top looks like it. But then I only handled it for maybe a minute or so. I will show him the link tomorrow.
  12. Dave why aren't you a LEO any longer?
  13. whoa Mars, that was a pretty fair rant I was waiting for someone to bring up the Yeagermeister again. as for danger, some years ago I used to have to drive by Cabrini Green about once a week. That was enough danger for this lifetime.
  14. my boss just obtained a Colt revolver that had belonged to his grandfather. He said all he knew for sure was that it belonged to grandad but he believed he carried it in WW1. Only markings on it were on the left side of the barrel and while very worn the engraved marking said "Colt Army .38" no serial number. It is a six shooter. It also only worked as double action. Pull the hammer back and it would not stay back, but it dry fired perfectly double action. Caliber. model and age? Rabbi? Anyone?
  15. that poll is about 100 years old, been on this board several times. But if'n you ain't seen it before go ahead and vote. The wording as I recall is kind of funny and I believe could be twisted to say whatever they want it to mean.
  16. Calm down, lol the loader comes with step by step explicit instructions. In lieu of those do this. De-prime all the cases you are going to reload. Resize and reprime all the cases. Once these steps are done go ahead with the rest of it. Keep powder away from primers until you are done re-priming. It is possible to set off a primer in the priming stage, that is why I do it in seperate steps. And as for a caliper I suppose it can be done without one but I like to be sure of the overall length I am making. You can get one for a few bucks or a digital one for a few dollars more. And keep it simple at first. Make 1 cartridge. Then make 5 of them, then do the rest of the 50. It will help you get a feel for it.
  17. G23, ain't that the ones that go boom?
  18. metal what paperwork didn't they get? Its a big coincidence that others from your class had misplaced paperwork too.
  19. I hope they are better at doing militia stuff than they are with syntax and making websites. Yikes
  20. I read a story on some other forum where a person commented that he was wearing his HCP badge next to his handgun on his hip ( or words to that effect) . Until then I never thought anyone would actually wear one of these things. There are several sources I have seen for them in magazine ads or internet ads. I think I would have a private chuckle if I actually ever saw somebody sporting one.

    GO TITANS

My second most favorite team is whoever is playing the Titans any given week. It gives me a reason to pay attention.
  23. I think you need a caliper of some sort. There are maximum lengths to consider.
  24. James did'ja get a caliper and a mallet?
  25. I think I am going to hold off for a week or two about a new BP revolver. I got a guy who thinks he can fix my existing 1851 Navy. I am gonna UPS it to him and let him have a go with it.
