My new Remington 1858 Army BP revolver came today. It was covered in oil when I unpacked it, oil just about dripping from it. Got it cleaned up in short order though. The piece is beautiful and I can't wait to pop its cherry this Saturday at the Shoot up in Oak Ridge. Or maybe sooner if I can make time before then. Here is a pic

I have a BSA scope for my .22 rifles. It works fine but I doubt it compares to what you are looking at.

A lot of mattresses have them little hand loops on them, for carrying it around, you know. A cheapo holster could easily be velcroed to it. Most cheapo nylon holster come with a velcro strap for retention. I could probably come up with a half a dozen ways to secure a holster to a bed, I bet you can too.

If the Pats had been caught 12 games into the season then maybe the cheating thing would mean something. As it was they were caught at the first game of the season. I may be going out on a limb but I am guessing the cheating had nothing to do with beating the Jets in Week 1. I don't see anyone beating the Pats, but then nothing is a sure thing and that is why they play the game. I'd like to see Green Bay and NE in the Super Bowl. I would probably root for GB.

James are you reading the posts? You can buy a primer tool for about 20 bucks, not worth whatever you are doing to keep popping them things.

I think most people now days don't even really know about black powder shooting. It seems to be all about Glocks or whatever the latest autoloader is. While it is nice to have a good reliable carry weapon, I would much rather spend what few gun dollars I have on a variety of guns to go and have fun with. Black Powder shooting is about relaxing and fun as shooting can get. Keeps things very simple, it is almost a spiritual experience.

Mar's the time I was denied I had exlained my situation to Mike and my being leery of attempting to buy the firearm because of the 30 dollar denial fee. He assured me because of my situation and his belief that I would not ultimately be denied that they would only hold me to the $10 fee. He was very helpful with my appeal, instantly providing me with paperwork to fill out and right then faxing it in. Does every gunshop do this to assist a denied purchaser? I miss that place. It was not the newest building or freshest carpet and paint but it was always enjoyable to go there. The fear of being ripped off by a retailer is why on major purchases I always initially put it on a credit card. That way if something shady happens you have some recourse. Especially if the net result is not leaving with the purchase. As an off topic note, how about them Packers? Wow they look good in the snow.
