  1. .Only if you were shot in the chest before the tank blew up. 1911's rule
  2. was he indoors or outdoors? I kind of remember this but am unsure of details. Indoors, in his leased or owned property I would think pulling a gun would be lawful, outdoors I am not so sure.
  3. Man don't ya hate when that happens? Have you hired an attorney yet? In seriousness I hope you heal soon. here is a youtube link that shows one hand reloading [ame] [/ame]
  4. use the Lorcin i am selling, slide the clip out a little bit and it will fit right over the lip of the spam can.
  5. If she is not the anti-Christ I have found that mean nasty people tend to go on a while. And according to the History Channel last night, life on earth may well end in 2012. Seriously I am thinking about Huckabee and McCain. Mostly all of them are leaving me flat.
  6. +1 to the bar bill thing. Not at all what it is and it portrays it very poorly.
  7. Creeky you killed me with the completed me comment, I coughed a potatoe chip up my nose, funniest thing I have read in days!!!! And to anyone I made mad, was not my intent, I really was curious as to what drew you to him. He kind of left me flat after his initial announcement. Rightwinger I am gonna vote for Hillary
  8. Why do you all support him so much. Specifically state positions that drew you to him. He is not especially charismatic, he did not do much while in the Senate. I am not sure why he would make a good President or VP. He seems very lackluster and most of his postions in my mind were predictable, a poor copy of Reagan or King George I
  9. Frank has a sense of humor? ;) :)
  10. expungement I am awaiting an expungement to go through from my situation this last summer, I was told by my attorneys office that the expungement will only allow people seeking info on me to see that I had contact with the court. That contact may have been as a witness as far as a background searching person would know. Only if I was seeking a job or some such that required a top security clearance would access be allowed as to what the expungement was covering. I specifically asked about future gun purchases and was told that I would be good to go. But that it was possible on the first future purchase I might be initially denied and then approved on appeal. And that appeal process would supposedly purge my information from TCIS and future purchases from that point on would be approved. I hope that made sense. and that said, I will believe it when it happens.
  11. Some of this I am not so sure about. If you go outside with a firearm with the intent to dissuade a thief causing him to come at you and if you use that gun will the court say that you escalated it into a gunfight or will they say you were in fear for your life? Now say you go outside with a camera and start taking pictures of the thief doing his business, yelling that police have been called or what-not and you are posessing a gun on your person, not visible, and he comes at you could you then use that firearm? Or would this be the same thing as escalating a confrontation into a gun fight?
  12. I don't think we even have a dog in this race.
  13. I received a call today from my representative Harry Brooks. I had forgotten that he was supposed to return my call. It was confirmed to me that he is very much a supporter of RKBA and the 2A, and I questioned him a bit about his stance on some other things and found he and I have a lot of common ground. The reason I called him was about this law pertaining to carrying firarms in establishments that serve alcohol for on premise consumption. He assured me he was in support of this bill and would vote for it if it came to the floor. But unfortunately he went on to explain that it will never see the light of day for vote in the house. This bill will never make it out of the judicial committee that it must go through first. He explained that the Speaker of the House has people positioned on committees such that certain topics never make it out of the door. This proposed carry law is one such bill. He specifically mentioned bills pertaining to abortion rights/right to life and laws to ease gun controls. Naifeh does not want these to come to a vote and they will not come to a vote. I asked Rep Brooks if he thought this carry bill would pass if it by some miracle did make it out of committee, he replied that more than likely it would pass. I asked why such bills are killed in committee rather than serve the will of the people. He responded that one reason Naifeh positions certain people on certain committee's is to prevent any public division amongst Democrats in the house. Basically no one has to take a public stand if there is no controversial bill to vote on. And that in a nutshell is why this will not come to a vote. It keeps the party in line, publically as one voice. I asked about what could be done and basically all that can be done is to vote in more Republicans than Democrat's so the Repub's get to name the speaker or for Mr. Naifeh to be voted out of office in his district or that he retire. So while I enjoyed speaking to my Representative I am also dis-heartened that not much is going to change in the immediate future. Of course this I pretty much knew before todays phone call. So there you have it.
  14. Welcome to the board. There are a few woman here and I am guessing they will chime in when they see your thread.
  15. To those that want to go this route I believe there is a proper procedure for removing an ammendment. Thats what they should do, not gets courts to make rulings that can change the next time the bench changes.
  16. I don't see how anyone can think to wonder what the framers meant. How could we possibly know? None of us where there. What we have to go by is the words that are written on that piece of paper. The letters they wrote and papers they wrote really should be inadmissable. They wrote a document and it needs to be looked at as the entity it is. There is no doubt about the words on that sheet of paper, the only doubt is how it is interpreted.
  17. Cut a little at a time, I had to use a cutting wheel on a dremel tool to cut the spring, that stuff is hard! I dunno if FMJ store bought will make any difference, I have as much trouble with them as my crappy home rolls.
  18. i would like to read any review of any firearm in a gun magazine where the magazine offers a poor review, never seen one.
  19. Eddie have you all shot it much since the new sear?
  20. My reasoning for trimming the spring was that the old one was too weak, the new one too strong so trimming it down would find a workable middle ground. At least 50 fed and the hammer worked as intended. I have had the slide lock back in the past but it was always with the Wilson Combat mag. I am now using the Novak mag that came with the RIA just to help control all the variables. Dave, check this link out and compare your extractor to it extractor tuning tips - http://www.m1911.org/technic2.htm
  21. There was a previous thread here somewhere where springs and such were somewhat discussed. But I could not readily find it so I am starting another. A while back I was having problems with the pistol going fully into battery. I believe Molon LabeTN and Dotson had/have this problem too on occassion. I know Eddie put new springs into his and I had ordered and installed a Wolff 18lb spring into mine. The spring seemed to help a lot with the failure to go to battery problem but then a new condition popped up. The gun would cycle fine but sometimes it would leave the hammer in a half cock postion. I started trimming the spring a little at a time. The problem got better but not 100% fixed. After the last time shooting, that time with less hammer failures than before, I trimmed it again. In total I might have taken a little more than one loop off the spring. I put 50 failure free rounds through it yesterday, maybe It is fixed. After the previous trim job it would fail one out of 50. I had also worked a little on the extractor and maybe that helped too. Dave did you ever order a new spring?
  22. Why is this allowed to happen? The few should not over-ride the many, and definitely the speaker seems to have way to much power. it is not right an ought to be corrected.
  23. I bought a poor mans variant of the AK, well not really a variant but it shoots the same round. A Yugo SKS. I love it, more fun than a barrel of monkeys to shoot, and if I cared to there are a ton of ways to accessorize it. Stock the way it was made is more than enough to give Hillary a conniption fit. Bayonet, grenade launcher and that thing that goes up. If I added a 30 round mag she might have a siezure.
  24. Can someone who knows explain how this happens and what steps could be taken to over-ride it?
  25. since our shoot did not happen if he had Hi-Points 995's I would have gone.
