  1. oh boy
  2. so on to important stuff, whats on Big Ed's menu and do they serve alcohol for on premise consumption?
  3. The whole thing is idiotic. This rebate I mean. I still cannot figure out how to give money back to people when there is not enough coming in to cover what is going out. Do I want $1200 sure, who doesn't but I doubt much of that much of mine will get spent. I am like MLTN in this regard. I will be sending them money and they will send some back. I would very much prefer to see a flat tax rate that everyone pays, no sliding scale.
  4. I heard a good way to look at all this. A guy on the radio said something to the effect of "Clinton or Obama as president will run the country into the ground at 100 mph, McCain as president will only do it at 50 mph." I did not vote for McCain in the primary but I will vote for him in the general election if he is the candidate. If the candidate is Romney I think i would rather have Obama. Obama will divide people so bad nothing will get done either way anyhow. I wonder who VP's might be?
  5. nobody from my zip denied or revoked. Is there a list that shows how many permits are in specific zip codes?
  6. I dunno about that, would Hillary let him keep his AK?
  7. What about a flat tax on all income?
  8. maybe you are qualified to explain why things appear so screwed up there? And, lol if it is so nice why did'ja leave, huh? Just raggin on you a bit about leaving but maybe you can explain what is good about it.
  9. beautiful revolver there Len. IMHO Ruger makes great single action six guns. Mine is just a .22 but it will last a lifetime or two or more just as yours will. Excellent purchase! You know if you reloaded .45's you can do them for about a dime per round.
  10. Thats a flashback and a half!! I ran 10X15 (if memory is right) windmills. Letterpress always seemed like an art. We had a big Heidelberg, 18X25 or something, it was a cylinder press. I know how to run Kluge's too. Now that was a contraption! I ran AB Dick's with a T Head on it for a few years too. Never did the printing you are doing. Was out of the business long before lasers came along. But I can still remember the smell of ink. Kind of gets in you blood. You still have all you fingers?
  11. I think i favor the fair tax, I would much prefer a flat tax . Everybody pay the same percent of tax irregardless of how much you earn. As to your question Rabbi, if their was a fair tax couldn't the gov't stimulate the economy by reducing tax on certain goods for an amount of time? Say reduce tax on clothing items, which is something people by regularly. Or if you were looking to boost other industries couldn't they temporarily lower taxes say on cars? Or lower taxes on guns to help us!! I am not an economist so tell me why this wouldn't work.
  12. I am no genius, obviously, nor a financial wizard but where is this money coming from? Are they just going to print some up, borrow, use monoply money? Isn't there already more going out than is coming in? Is this the same gov't who wants individuals to use restraint with borrowing and living over their heads? Corker might be a windbag, but at least someone is coming out against this.
  13. When else could you have had your picture taken with Ron while he was in office?
  14. Doesn't this make you feel better
  15. Not to worry for you if Obama is elcted. Even his wife said it would be alright for people in a rural area to own a hunting rifle. here is the story, i read it in the News Sentinel http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/news/politics/blog/2007/11/obama_my_wife_sees_need_for_ru.html so we are good to go with this guy
  16. My five year old grandson is not ready to shoot a real gun yet. Not to say yours won't be. Can't wait until I think he is old enough though. If I was going to buy him a handgun it would be a single action .22 revolver. That will be the first one of mine he will shoot.
  17. Where is this place?
  18. One thing for sure is that changing over will end up costing comsumers more money. California ought to just go be their own country and leave all the rest of us out of it.
  19. Mars, the WE stuff is me busting your balls. I pretty much assume you are not going to make it. And to say I do not want to go to eat is an assumption and you would be wrong. Didn't read anything politically incorrect in your post.
  20. I finally was able to get out and do the early voting thing today. At least that was painless this time in itself. I was going to give Paul my vote but just really saw that as useless. Better to go for someone else who just might could beat the Dem's. And today there is a bright side. Guilliani dropping out is almost as good as the Dem's losing. At least with Clinton or Obama you know what you are getting. Rudy is nothing but a pack of deceit and question marks. Who knows maybe the guy I voted for will win.
  21. what we need to do. Does the WE mean you are in?
  22. Mars can we do polls here? Maybe with options for 1. Eat only 2. shoot/eat/shoot 3. Eat/shoot 4. shoot only Just an idea. I guess it matters what Phantom can do. And as I recall, historically we have fine weather at our meet and shoots! 2/ Eat
  23. Hey Mike, I was wondering. Maybe this is a dumb question. But would it be possible if someone wanted to to shoot first , break for lunch then come back for the afternoon shoot? Just an idea. I know I like the shooting part of meets as much as Mars likes the eating part and maybe some others do too. either way is fine though. I for sure do not want to put you out any.
  24. Sounds like you all had it pretty bad last night out west. It blew pretty hard here too. I had a hard time getting to sleep waiting for a tree to come down on the house or one of the vehicles. Thought I heard something real big come down out in the woods last night, guess I will go look for it this weekend. Maybe I can score some firewood off it. A few years ago a tree so big it would have taken two men to reach around it burst about 10 feet off the ground and came down. I remember it sounded like a bomb went off when that happened. Got a ton of firewood from that one. Must have been 60 feet of tree on the ground. I did a walk around earlier and no damage but there is a butt load of sticks I been picking up. One branch came down and it was a big sucker. About 15 feet long and big around as a softball. Lucky it landed in the yard. If it had hit a vehicle it would have caused damage. The thing looked like it came from about 80 feet up. Sorry about any damage you all took, but glad no one got hurt.
  25. That Sig is real nice looking Tower. I hope Julie liked it. And that TV is a win/win for you too!! Sounds like you need to get back on the towers again to pay for all this, lol I am happy for you all man! PS: if you talk to Mark tell him I said hi and that I hope all is well with him!
