So how did you get 8 hours of class by 1 pm? My class went over 8 hours and there were only about 30 students. If mine had 80 it would have lasted well into the next day. Maybe I am misunderstanding your post. What I question is did you get enough of an education about this whole matter.

What caliber is it? Looks like you did alright price wise. i just did a look/see at Guns America and the lowest was $499 and the higher ones were well above what you paid.

Don't know where this comes from, I thought one of his duties when in the Senate is to lead the Pledge of Allegiance at the beginning of a session.

Guns n More in Knoxville is okay, really nice people there and it has the stand around and BS a while atmosphere. I used to like Top Notch in Blountville before they closed. It was the kind of place where you could sit on the stool at the counter, have a soda, smoke a cig and BS about guns. I agree with Mars about Gunslingers being a little too slick. I like the place and their milsurp section is kind of neat. Never bought a gun there though. I have bought at Crowders before but did not deal with the owner, one of the young ladies behind the counter was real nice and helpful. The price was definitely right, i think it was the best deal I ever got on a gun. I also like Big Al's in Greenville. You can find deals on pawn shop stuff as well as their decent inventory and pricing on guns. Al does seem to have the 1000 yard stare, not sure if that is good or bad. Can't wait for Austin's to open. I have already talked to Phantom about ordering a piece for me or handling the transfer when his FFL is in hand. It will be nice to deal with someone I already know.

One thing I wonder about Obama is where is the dirt? I did see a headline but did not read the story about his drug use as a young man. I hardly consider that real dirt. Everyone has a ghost in their closet, whats his?

avoid brass brushes as much as possible. They are better than steel brushes though. I only use a brush in the bore every once in a while. Use whatever liquid bore cleaner you have by applying it and letting it sit for a while. Give it a chance to do its thing. Remember more guns have been damaged by over cleaning them than by undercleaning them.

Encouraging story about Heller and our lawmakers Cheney gets tough on gun-rights case Joins Supreme Court brief in challenge to D.C. handgun ban WASHINGTON - Vice President Dick Cheney took the unusual step Friday of joining with lawmakers in signing a Supreme Court brief that goes further in support of gun rights than the one submitted by the Bush administration. The filings were made in a case that challenges the District of Columbia's ban on handguns. It was scheduled to be argued on March 18. Both briefs argue that the Second Amendment protects an individual's right to own guns. However, the administration contends that too categorical a ruling could threaten other federal gun restrictions and wants the justices to send the case back to lower courts without deciding whether the handgun ban should fall. Cheney joined more than 300 senators and representatives, led by Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, R-Texas, who want the court to rule that Washington's ban is unconstitutional. "The vice president believes strongly in Second Amendment rights," Cheney spokeswoman Megan Mitchell said. Seventeen Democratic lawmakers and District of Columbia Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton urged the court to uphold the ban. Lawyers with long experience at the court could not recall another case in which a vice president took a position different from that of his own administration. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23075904 Finally something to be proud of Cheney for.!!

Boom bring some .380's so we can shoot Phantom's C-Span. Scott have Corey bring that Model 60. I will bring mine and we can compare differences in the two. Mine is about 30 years old. -
Boom are you on your way to becoming a pro gunner? what were you shooting?

I dunno, if I was making withdrawals several times a year in the thousands of dollars I would be talking to the manager about some discretion in the counting out loud department.

Presidential Candidates' Opinions on Firearms
Mike.357 replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
McCain came out yesterday with a platform that reflects typical republican values. i am sure he did it to help ease fears of hard line repubs and to reflect the party line. If he does become president I doubt he will go off the deep end and be the equivilant of a democrat. He might not be your ideal "Reagan" republican but do you all seriously think having Hillary or Barack in the white house beneficial? No good will come of that. Some here have suggested that if it is Obama he will be assasinated. I have read it other places as well. For the love of God I hope that does not come to be. Talk about some restrictive gun laws being passed. I read crazy talk on internet forums and some of the craziest is those simply saying they will not vote for McCain. God help us all. -
I forone am glad you are posting again. Your avatar is a day brightener

The way I understand it Rush is for whoever stands the best chance to beat Hillary or Obama. I kind of follow this line of thought. I will support McCain because polls are showing he ought to be beat Hillary and he is very close to being able to beat Obama. All the other republican candidates, according to polls, are going to get whipped. If conservative voters stay home and don't vote republican in the general election we will definitely have a democratic president.

I think holster purchases and ways to carry are very individual. whats works for me may not work for you. Small of the back is good if you are walking, but sit in your car with one and you will have a big ole back ache in short order. I prefer to carry at 3 O'clock or 4 O'clock depending on the activity I am anticipating. I have four , no five hoslters, lol. All of them get used and all of them have specific purposes. I have one cheapo holster I bought from a surplus store for 7 bucks. It is what i use 95% of the time for daily carry. It works well for me, but may not work for anyone else on this forum. I have three that are pretty much for range use only depending on what I am shooting at the time. The other one is used for daily carry about 5% of the time and works well on both of the carry weapons but will service 4 of the guns I have. i think I got lucky, no box o' holsters for me. my only regret is not buying a couple of them $7 ones.

It is really sad that there are people like that in this world. I am quite sure those woman really truly believe WW2 was an unjust war. Maybe they need to ask some Jewish people about it. And that is just for starters. These are the kind of people who are totally salivating over the chance for Hillary to become president. They want to remove any independent thought, individual rights and have all people swear allegiance to our goverment. Create a total nanny state. I ain't swearing allegiance to any gov't. Our country is not the gov't.

One other thing I noticed in the video. The "host" of this infomercial is standing in front a very high dollar safe. For me I had to find some middle ground. I suspect most of you that have safes have found this middle ground as well. The guns I own are worth maybe $1700 to replace. My Safe (RSC) was priced at $700. Got it on sale for less. The Safe he is in front of probably cost over $5000. That would not be a prudent purchase for most people. I see this bit as a way or trying to scare people into spending more than they need to. I seriously doubt professional thieves and safecrackers are going to look at my ramshackle house and think there is anything worth stealing anyway. And really there is not. Bunch of used and yard sale crappola, lol.

makes me glad mine is fully operational, bolted to the floor and not in a room so big as to get at it like that even if you got it on its backside.
