  1. where is that at in Alcoa? Never heard of it. I am guessing it is a gun store?
  2. I might ditch the brown grips but you ain't gonna find a "cooler" looking grip than the black diamond checker pattern you already have.
  3. 1851 Rebel Griswold & Gunnison replica .44 caliber Can't wait 'til I can shoot it this weekend.
  4. yawn Whats that hideous yellow growth coming off the trigger? should have got a glock just kidding, it looks like a very nice pistol! I bet it set you back a few.
  5. too many topics. it befuddles me anymore. Hard to find what I want to read. But yall do what you want
  6. Hey! I resemble that remark
  7. There was a story by a local guy in the paper the other day where he mentioned this border thing. He pointed out that back in the day that Georgia lawmakers refer to about the state line, that the TN river was much narrower and the channel of the river would not have been on the Georgia side of the line. Only since TVA and Nickjack Lake came in to being has the river widened to the point where the 35th parallel would touch the river water.
  8. Look at the bright side, they could not possible make you look worse! Sorry had to take a shot. I agree if anyone should do it it should be you. Make us proud. PS: if you do it try to find out when it will be televised and let us know. We could get it on you tube and make a sticky out of it.
  9. pretty funny stuff. I have been known to go road riding on the yard tractor before. Funny how the cop called the road a highway. Looked like a peaceful little neighborhood to me. Not a highway. Dude on the mower was hammered. Can't imagine fixing to pee right in front of a cop like that though. If the video is real the cop was a little over the top with spraying the drunk driver. There was no need for that. The guy was a happy drunk. Loved when the drunk sayed his wife was gonna kick the cops ass! When I was a kid a neighbor of ours was a notorious drunk. Cops took his license, then took his car. He got picked up and had his mower impounded for driving it up to the corner bar (about 1/4 mile from out house). It was great entertainment for us kids. We got to see the whole thing.
  10. Looks like you shoot just fine, gonna scratch you off my list of homes to break into , okay I am not breaking into anyones home. Do you focus on the front site?
  11. I read these stories and it makes me glad I do not have to deal with these places to be able to shoot. Even if I did not have a place here to shoot I would find a better option than them indoor ranges. I will go on a limb and speculate that all of us have covered someone with the muzzle at one time or another. I admit I accidently stuck the muzzle of a shotgun against a guy who turned away from the line right at the same time I did as I was stepping up to the firing line. No ammo in the gun though and no finger anywhere near the trigger, whew! I apologized profusely and he did not take offense. It was not from total carelessness though just Murphys law. But it sure does make a person be extra careful. (Go ahead and take pot shots at me for this if you want to) i have also had a kid stick his head right in front of my muzzle as I was putting percussion caps on on a pistol. I was being 110% safe and he came from out of no where and bent down on the ground to pick some casing up. Yikes. Just goes to show things happen and we are not always in control of them. if someone introduced themself to me by pointing their gun at me I would not be nasty to them but rather try to educate them on it all. Being a new guy I wonder if he was new to shooting and was not knowing of the four rules as well. All ranges should have signage indicating Cooper's rules.
  12. That IMHO is why people shoot themselves when cleaning Glocks. There was no mention made of dropping the magazine and checking that there is no cartridge in the chamber. Those are steps 1 and 3 in the takedown process.
  13. What would a person use if they had no drivers license? The HCP is a state issued ID card. No reason it should not be acceptable as ID. The purchaser was probably showing off anyway. I treat is as a need to know basis when presenting an ID for whatever reason.

    Finally

Welcome to the club. Nothing at all wrong with a Sigma. I believe any bad reputation it has comes from previous editions that had a really bad trigger. A lot of it also has to do with gun snobs not thinking you spent enough on a firearm. Well somehow they need to justify the extra hundreds they spent on theirs. i have well over 1500 rounds through mine and it has never done anything other than send a round on target downrange. It is my primary carry weapon too. Pretty easy for a fat ass like me to conceal it. The only advice I can offer about it to make sure it is unloaded before you pull that trigger to begin takedown of it for cleaning. Follow the 4 rules!
  15. I wonder if any looters were shot. If not I also wonder if the Gov has the authority to decide who gets prosecuted and who does not.
  16. can anyone step up to the plate?
  17. I have a buddy in New Hampshire. I am sure he would be getting a giggle out of this now talk here in TN. He has maybe 8 feet of it piled on his land and is worried if they get much more he will be snow bound as he has run out of room to pile the stuff. He says they get no mail service. So much for that mailman creed. Says the snow is well over the mailboxes if the plows on the street have not run over them already. He lives out in the boonies somewhere so has to take care of it on his own.
  18. When I was in grade school we had to walk to school, in a foot of snow, two miles, uphill both ways. Everything is better with beer! Try some hot fudge with that snow ice cream. Goes just fine with a malted beverage.
  19. I was wondering if I would see reasoning that losing was a good thing, LOL I am sure of several people I know who are saying right now " that maybe losing to Vandy was good for the team, they will learn from it" I've never seen losing as a good thing. Well anyway maybe they got it out of their system now.
  20. I dunno about the rest of the state but I do not see them ordering gun confiscations around here. I am sure that NO did not think it either but things are not that wacked out here. this is a much more stable area, not near as much gang problems and crime in general. The people in power in Knox County would never be able to pull it off. Way too many gun owners. But say they did decide to do this for some unforeseen catastrophe. Where do they begin? They will have a hard time finding guns here. Way to many hiding places out in the woods.
  21. yall get them difficult guns, I am sticking with revolvers. new 1851 on the way!!
  22. covering most of the options I see.
  23. Welcome to TN Kirby. Good deal taking your class at Austins, awesome people! Come out to our next shoot.
  24. Did you get printed yet? Gotta start the mailbox watch you know LOL Still liking that Buckmark I see, alright!! Thought maybe you would take it with the Kimber. Glad you got the class in anyway.
  25. See that flying out the window? That was your next invitation to come over and shoot
