  1. Dave I will come clean, I let him in
  2. Obviously I feel your pain there boatman. I have added the squib story to any verbal instructions I will give to anyone who shoots a revolver of mine. The only thing that eases my mind over other ammo being without powder is that the squib came from the very first box of ammo I reloaded and I have since making those rounds developed a better system for quality control of home rolled rounds. I also think anyone other than the newest of shooters will know something is not right when you hear pop instead of bang. Hopefully they will stop and inspect the firearm.
  3. what the heck is this? Given my druthers I would just as soon carrry a '58 Remington with .454 balls cruising at around 800 FPS. Shoot them at close range and not only put a nice hole int he BG but also set him afire. Spare cylinder for a "preacher" like quick reload if need be.
  4. its been so long since she was murdered, anyone recall the actual cause of death? As for her parents knowing the story I am guessing they know. break in of apartment, daughter killed defending herself with a less than ideal instrument of defense. Overpowered by two strong young men and killed as they attempted to cover up their heinous actions. Even if this particular scumbag did not deal the death blow he is just as guilty as whoever did.
  5. Amnesty means amnesty?? Bunch of BS I guess. No way are they going to recover a murder weapon and just let the shooter walk. I read the amnesty to mean that they will not prosecute over an illegally owned gun, or illegal posession of a gun. NO trigger lock they will forgive but gun used in a crime will be used as evidence, count on that. I preach to the wife and daughter to never ever ever ever ever let a cop into the house. Under no circumstance are they to be let in the door. I don't care if it is freakin pouring down rain, the guy is fixing to poop his pants whatever, they are not coming in.
  6. I would buy it it if was a Hi Point!
  7. I must be mistaken but isn't this called "half cock", and don't all 1911's have this feature?
  8. Well it seems I have the SAA already, yikes. Did not know I had an affliction with an acronym. Now I just need the SAA that stands for Single Action Army. LOL Boom you will be the first to know when that SP101 goes on sale. Just waiting on Phantom to get his FFL, and then to decide for sure which SAA to get. Kind of torn between a Vaquero (psuedo saa) or a real SAA
  9. Way over rated. They could have stopped inventing new cartridges after the .357 mag was invented. That truly is perfection.
  10. Whats next? I will tell you. Kicking in doors and forcably searching homes that they were not invited into is what. The country is going down the tubes. I feel for our grandchildren and great grandchildren. After that there will be no BoR left to tred on.
  11. not to thread hijack but yall can have that place. I would no more live out there than live in NYC
  12. My SP101 is great. The double action trigger pulls with not a lot of effort, but enough that you will not have a ND if you touch the trigger inadvertantly. With practice you can pull the trigger and stop before it goes bang. Meaning it reaches a point where it is ready to go bang but has a hair more to travel. Easy to feel this spot on the trigger pull. I like it. But I am more interested in a SAA in .357 so it may go up for sale soon. oops. I did not pay attention to your asking about the .45. Dunno squat about that.
  13. Well that pretty much covers it all. Hans Solo says You are kidding, right? I have one in .357 and it easily conceals. It is hardly a big framed gun at all. On my hip, under a shirt you can't see it, slide it in my waistband at 6 oclock and it is not visible. Actually it is an excellent option for someone buying their first revolver. It can be carried for protection and unlike the ultra lightweight S&W's you can shoot the crap out of it at the range.
  14. Even Jimmy Naifeh cannot single handedly push something like this upon us. I seriously doubt this will come to fruition, maybe in the land of fruits and nuts, but not here.
  15. What about doing paperwork?
  16. yeah right, thats what admins always say. I am guessing they got misplaced along with your sense of humor
  17. I tell ya, maybe in my life I have had encounters with police where them being involved improved the situation, but honestly none come to mind. I can think of a couple of instances where things got way worse because of cops being involved. I have no doubt that the percentage of jack ass cops is the same as the percentage of jack asses in most any other profession. It is just that when one encounters a jerk cop it tends to stick with you more so than when you encounter a jerk anywhere else. Things I take with me from this thread. 1. Never ever consent to a search of my person, vehicle, or other property. 2. Speak first, don't wait to be spoken to. 3. Memorize and use the phrase "Am I free to go?"
  18. Good riddance to bad rubbish. This guy saved us taxpayers many dollars and the prosecutors office from having to deal with this case and probably screw somethign up along the way. I did not know there was a downtown Knox County jail.
  19. I think about that Buckmark from time to time Mark. I should have figured some way to make it happen while you were still in TN. The Ruger I was trying to add was a POS a guy at work had, I offered him $75 for it and he got mad, lol. It has issues with action of the revolver and rust. It cocks easily is you hold it sideways when you pull the hammer, but holding it normally the hammer does not work without a hard fast manner of pulling the hammer back. Some idiot crudely carved an initial in each side of the grip and covered over the grip with lacquer of some such chemical. Gun is not in good shape. But like I said he got mad at my offer, so thats the end of that.
  20. I thought the mags were interchangable?
  21. no, the alcohol if it would even burn after soaking the steak would not burn hot enough or last long enough to cook the steak. A much simpler way would be to soak the steak in Coca Cola and let it cook as it marinates.
  22. I get a kick out of the fact that the 18 year old totally gave his buddy up, LOL

    I'm in heaven!

Len you are not alone dude. I always considered myself a liberal until recently the Dem's turned it into a dirty word. Funny how "liberty" is something to be used to hold others down now.
