Me and the old lady are quitting. Smoking that is. I think this time it will stick. She has been over a week and I am at about 4 days. Cold turkey. My orginal quit date was April 15, I had been working on cutting back. I had stopped smoking at work and in the truck. No more after meal smokes, yanno just trying to break the habit of when I smoked. Karin came back from Arizona Monday night and I asked her how she was doing with the smoking thing. I fully expected her to have caved in and snuck one or two. She told me that she had not had one since I stuck her on the plane last Thursday. Well heck. what was I supposed to do. I had not planned on quitting until this coming Monday night. So real quick like I ran around the house ( not in the house but the garage and porch, no smoking in house anyway) with a pitcher of water. I found every ash tray full and cigarette butts I could find and soaked them in the pitcher. I took the 3/4 pack she had left in my truck and destroyed them and the partial pack of mine and destroyed them as well. AAACK, I was in my truck yesterday getting my check book out. I found a pack of smokes with one in it. Dang I shredded that thing before I had time to talk myself out of it. Good thing too, Today it has been real hard, I would have caved if I found it just now. so long story short I am having a nicotine fit right now. But I am not caving in. Anway typing this out got me past it.

I am carrying at least one more gun, minimum one more.

I very much enjoy cutting my grass. I enjoy taking care of the mowers and weed eater. I enjoy the smell of gasoline as it overflows whenever I fill a fuel cell. I very much like hooking the Huskee (17.5 hp of rolling thunder) up to the battery charger to get it started. I know I could go get a new battery but where is the fun in that? I am looking forward to pulling both blades off of it to sharpen them, gives me a good excuse to use a breaker bar and a torque wrench. I am hopeful thwe push mower will last one more year. I am not sure what suspends the motor anymore as the mower deck is one big hunk of rusted holes. Sooner or later the motor is gonna fall right in on itself. I am curious as to what kind of damage will happen. So cutting my grass is alright with me. I wish it would grow faster.

Give me a cause worthy of boycotting something and maybe I will do it. Pizza Hut and their gun rules is not it. They are not hurting anyone with their rules. So do we just boycott pizza hut? Or do we take it a step higher to their parent corporation? Do we go a step higher to the insurance companies? Should we then boycott banks that loan them money to open new restaurants and force their gun rules on more employees? Tell me, where does it start and end? Now how about Absolute? yep, Rabbi has it dead on. One valid reason for me is because I enjoy shooting them. I fully do not expect to ever deploy a handgun in self defense. I fully never expect to hunt with one. I just think they are fun to collect and shoot. Reasons do not get more valid than that.
