I love them but do not have one yet. I think I would like a plinker in .22 LR

Today was by far the easiest one to get through. I really only had a fit one time, and it was not very bad. Man Sunday was like one big nicotine fit. So maybe I am turning a corner. We will see how tomorrow shapes up. gonna be pretty stressful at work. I got about 800 cases of wine going to hit me in the nose about 8 AM. And the bright side is I turn 50 too.

One of these days we will sort out the eating or shooting stuff. One thing you new Eastern Band members need to know is there is a $10 fee for using the range. It is pretty reasonable IMHO. Phantom will also have you fill out a disclaimer sheet or some such thing. Basically it says he gets your first born and all your firearms should something go wrong. Mike you out there in cyberspace??? What do you want to do. Big Ed's was pretty good las time. somebody needs to be the Dad here, LOL I am not afraid to do it ,LOL gots experience. Scott you coming?

wow Mark that is some stroke of luck. At least if something needs fixing he might be able to put you on the right track. Let me know what he tells you. -

Tower writes Tower you typed the wrong name in there, it ought to say Mike! Mark@sea writes OMG that page kind of made my heart go thumpety thump thump..... I have not felt like that since I fell in love back in high school days. And that freakin Quigley music just sucks a person in. I think it is worth the two year wait. Can you pay a little at a time or does it have to be paid up front? I might sell my truck to get in line for one of those. -
I dunno Mars, I know the US Open does an 18 hole playoff. I thought the Masters was just some sudden death scenario.

I ain't about to go do it right now, but there are times I really enjoy a fine cigar. When we lived in Fla I had a buddy who knew connected people and he would hook me up with a Monte Cristo on occassion. Ones from Cuba. Dang I loved them things. I can get a knock off Monte Cristo around here, it is Nicauraguan or something but they are still fairly good. I would be way to scared to try one now. Maybe in September on vacation though.

There is an Army Surplus store in Fountain City. I bought a bunch of them from there last year. I can't quote prices but it was very reasonable and they were all in great shape. He has all different sizes of them I believe. It is called Cherokee Military Surplus. It is in a little strip mall on Broadway. I looked it up for you. Address is 5014 N. Broadway. ph # 688-1830. It sits next to a Maytag Store that is right on the street. Easy enough to find even for someone from Marvull. LOL

I just got done writing out a check to the US Treasury. It along with my tax return for 2007 will go into the mail tomorrow. Not at all planned by I kind of found it interesting that the check I wrote to them was number 1040. I guess they can hold my money until they send it back to me this summer.

2a does not have one thing to do with hunting. I promise you as soon as they make your AR's and auto loaders illegal they are coming after your hunting rifles.

Just In Case You Had Any Doubts...

I am not very religious but I know for sure that he dislikes guns because they give us peons a way of keeping his foot off of our necks. Its all about control, can't control people who can shoot at you. -
Obama- Small town people "cling" to guns and religion

this might sound like it is way out there but if he gets in I bet we will hear the war cry for "reperations". -

I wish I had money for the carbine. If I buy another long gun that is the one that leads the list I think. What is Shiloh? Have you tried any other sources for the Sharps? -
yeah seriously, if you fixed it it would easily bring a lot more than 100 bucks. I think it is a no brainer. Buy the parts and fix it yourself. It reads to me like a perfect chance to to learn some simple pistol repair. Besides, who would not want a semi auto Ruger.

col, we have not hammered out the final details yet. Check back often to see if it has sorted out. Shoot is 100% for sure happening at Phantoms range out near OR. We are still working out eating and/or shooting starting times. If I hear no other information I will be at the range by 10:30.
-
I don't understand the question. A free gun can be fixed by a gunsmith for 50 bucks or fixed for a few bucks if you buy the parts and do it yourself. I must be missing something here.

black powder yes, modern smokeless no. That stuff is not good to be breathing. back in the day people would use black powder to season meat.

heres a link to directions that are posted on a past thread. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/showpost.php?p=64244&postcount=126 So are we eating or just shooting?

private range Phatom is associated with here is a link that has a couple of sets of directions. The range is a little southwest(?) of Oak Ridge. Pretty easy to get too. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/showpost.php?p=64244&postcount=126

Don't know the first thing about paper patching. I have never seen it first hand. I would say shooting that gun would make for an interesting and satisfying hobby. What with casting bullets, coming up with casings and paper patching the rounds. Dunno if I would want it for a wall hanger. I bet you are curious like I am as to what the guy will put in that shop next. -
Kind of funny about Player. The announcers said on TV that Player was not in Augusta as he was headed wherever on business. So had player conceded making the cut before hand? I guess the older guys know when they do not have the game anymore. And this was Players last regular tourney appearence. I think from now on he is relugated to the Champions Dinner and playing nine on Thursday in the lead group.
-
Not to butt in your thread but if you don't have a place to shoot why don't you all consider carpooling it up to Oak Ridge on the 19th? Its only about 90 minutes away, maybe closer depending where yall are.

it really helps being able to read everyone elses experiences with this nasty addiction. Today has been real hard, me and the wife are about to kill one another and are pretty much trying to stay out of each others way. I keep thinking how if the antis put as much effort into making tobacco illegal instead of guns that they might actually be able to do something that makes sense. I mean here is a product, probably subsidized by the gov't that kills God knows how many people each year. Then they let this product be out there in virtually every gas station, quickie mart and grocery store in the land. I wonder what would happen if gun makers started mass mailings to customers with coupons towards guns. You know Winston sends stuff to me all the time, yes it has my name on the label but it also says "or current resident" So it is not like they need you permission to send the stuff. I have no doubt the Bradys would throw a fit over ammo coupons in the mail or cash money off the purchase of a gun.

kind of a cool story with Immelman winning on the 40th anniversary of his idol Gary Player winning it for the last time. Kind of crummy weather here today so I ended up watching the entire round of the last pairing today. If somebody had shot lights out and gone low today Immelman might not have won. But he did what needed to be done, good for him. Not a very dramatic finish though.
