sounds like you two will end up alright. Step sons are hard to deal with at times but right is right and he will figure it all out as he gets older. Don't forget to do some things he digs too.

easily made the ten bucks back by buying FTF and not paying for a 4473 Going anywhere costs money, can't hide in the garage all the time.

I would be glad to trade money with you, lol. I am on the sell one - buy one plan. The rifle for the boy has been planned for a long time, just waiting on him to be the right size. I am poor, hence black powder and .22's Dotsun says get you pants back and come out shooting

thanks tnmale, Mech and Crook. I tell you I have been fondling it since I brought it home. I am fallin in love with how it looks and feels. The thing shot like a dream. What a nice trigger pull it has to go along with the smooth as butter lever action. I was amazed I found one there. Mech heard me talking to Phantom about ordering one for me while we were at the shoot yesterday. I got such a deal on this it was not possible to walk away from it. Being it was not NIB it has a little character to it already. So no need to worry over the first ding or scratch it will get. Gonna make it up to Phantom as for him losing my business on this rifle. He is looking into ordering a Savage Cub Mini youth for me. I am pretty sure we will be ordering it tomorrow or Tuesday. It is for my 6 year old grandson. About the time he outgrows it his little brother will be ready to take it over. Once all the grandkids are through with it the oldest one will get it back to give to his son or daughter one day.

I been trying to get me a car just an old junker so as I can put it on blocks. But the Missus keeps pulling the plug on it. So I have to find other way to keep in the club. Beer drinking rides on the lawn mower, four wheelin at 2 am, Rebel flag flying, guns going bang all the time. I am trying anyway.

I for one can vouch for anyone that I have seen around Tower being able to shoot. Fine shooters one and all. I still am not sure about all this litigation. And I really don't understand ratting some guy out for having a car on blocks. Heck around here that is a starter set for a junkyard. And a junkyard in yer yard is a status symbol. To help with some thread drift now, Tower can you plan on being in Kingsport in May for our shoot?

Aside from the Henry rifle I found I also picked up a few trinkets. hmm lets see. 50 rounds of .45 Colt cowboy ammo from Atlanta Arms, a couple of .22 snap caps, a dental pick for the tool box, a stiff nylon barrel brush for .40 -.45 cal, 2 inch wide leather belt to hold up the black powder pistols and 250rds 158 grain LSWC .38 bullets so as I can reload some more. I felt like I got pretty good value for my dollars. Of course the Henry made the day worthwhile. got in and out in about 2.5 hours so I did not waste the whole day there. I could have spent more time but I decided I had blown enough cash and what was the point looking any further. Craziest thing I saw was a hammer marked at $100. I asked about it and it had BF Goodrich on the side of the head. The guy also had one that said Goodyear on it. But the Goodrich one was his best piece. I also talked with a guy who had an original 1873 Winchester on display. Letter dating it to 1882 I think. I asked how much it would take to get him to sell, he said 30k. WOW Hard to imagine it was that old and just sitting there to look at. I think it was the hilight of the show.

LOL you will find a way. I hope you have one the next time we are all able to get together. It would be a lot of fun to make smoke with a few people.

Tower you might look for an older Glenfield Marlin or even any other Model 60. The tube magazine is easy to load and has good capacity. I am not such a big fan of the 10/22. I have a 60 but rarely shoot it. I dunno but I like to feel like I am part of the shooting. That is why I like my bolt .22. I feel like I am doing something. Man with a 60 you can bang through some ammo. It is a funfest to shoot one. I ran 100 rounds through the Henry today. It was a hoot. The windage was off a little bit so I drifted the sight over a little and got it pretty good. I think I need to find something to hold the sight in place a little better. I think it drifted to easily. I barely had to tap it to get it to move. Anyway I really like this rifle. and am very happy I bought it.

it is very important to not give up. I had a couple of false starts in the two weeks leading up to my actually stopping. 12 days now anyway.

okay, I am not trying to trip you up, but the saga in this thread was getting sketchy and I needed clarafication. I missed that you bought a second one and did not recoup money on the original. I have to say I have never met anyone as litigious as yourself. I really have to wonder if this is not a case of what goes around comes around. Why do you carry a sidearm but never train? I mean going to the range once a month is not going to break you from the sounds of things. I dare say if you had spent 140 bucks on bullets and range time you would be way better off than what you spent 140 bucks on. I am curious, and there is no intent to trip you up here, but why did you need this car computer? I was unaware there is this big aftermarket thing on them things. I nominate this thread for the most entertaining thread of the weekend!

They were doing the same thing today at the gun show. There were several people around the recruiters table. I am already a member so I got to pay the xtra ten bucks to get in, LOL Way to go Canyn!! At least get youself in.

I went to the gun show at the Expo Center in Knoxville today. I had my eyes on the lookout for a .22 lever action rifle. I found one that is exactly what I was looking for. Bought it from a seller who was selling his collection, anyway that is the story I got. I got a great deal on it too. It is a H-001. It is a Henry, not sure yet what year it was made. I will contact Henry Repeating Arms tomorrow and see if they can assist me in the year of manufacture. Anyway I doubt it is more than a couple of years old. The bore looks real good and the action is super smooth. Almost feels like there are no internal parts. I shot a few rounds through it when I got home just to make sure it worked. I think before the day is out I will run a hundred rounds through it just for giggles. Here is a pic

Mars, I missed the biggest reason to send the hat to Canyn, he needs something to keep his dome from getting sunburnt this summer.
-
Mike good luck. Watch that gum stuff, I am not so sure it is helpful. But if it works for you then I say HOORAY!! I also say smoke em up today and try to make them last until you normally stop smoking for the night. Then get rid of ashtrays and lighters and stuff too. At least out of sight. Once morning comes you will be 8 hours give or take into being off them.

Mark, I do not know about it firsthand. But I bet if you call EMF and ask they can tell you. They sell Pietta firearms and are great people to deal with Their number is 800-430-1310 I am thinking it will work. http://www.emf-company.com/black-powder-accessories.htm

This is the wisest statement you have made in this thread. I have no background in law, other than being in the system for a few months this last summer, but I believe your permit is no longer valid. Kind of like if your drivers license was suspended, whether they tell you or not it is still suspended. Seems like you dug yourself a hole in this deal. Were you wronged Maybe, probably, i dunno. But for 140 bucks it certainly is not worth the crap you will now go through. I do credit you for not stomping off mad about the rough treatment you have been getting here. We members here might not be a lot of things but one we definitely are is BRUTAL.

mikedwood says No, you are now a responsible member of the gun owning community. Unlike the 94% who lay back and doing nothing. canyn (lover of really ugly hats) says I know, buy another box of 40S&W ammo instead of joining. Seriously I have not found joining the NRA has caused me to get an avalanche of solicitous mail. I did not give them my email addy either, I gave them Dotsun's.

send the hat to Canyn. We already suspect his good taste as he works at FedEx and lives in Memphis.
-
it would be nice if our tri-city bretheren came out for this shoot. I am guessing we will need someone qualified to be an RSO too.

I hear these bands every day on Sirius radio. There is soooooo much good music that the local radio station refuse to play. It is soo bad here that when I am in the truck running liquor around town I leave the radio off. When the day comes that Hank III is getting played by commercial radio I might tune it back in. Sirius is my crack.

Well T-Ball comes first, been there before. We missed both you and Tower. I kept watching the driveway to see you maybe show up. Mech it was nice shooting with you. Hope you can make it out with us again. I will bring the M44 next time and we can compare.

So you had a $1000 13 years ago? Heck I just graduated to a $500 deductable two years ago. 13 years ago it was $100. I am guessing your driving record must be really bad to carry insurance in that manner thats is flat out BS. Insurance companies do not hold claims against their clients when the claim is not "at fault". If your agent told you that is how they work i say he is lying to you. Not buying that.
