  1. Dotsun posts Some people seemed to know about it... Might have something to do with the rule about no riff raff allowed. hahahahahaha I took the little rifle out just now to sight it in. The dang thing is a tack driver. I needed to adjust for windage a tick and after that I was able to put rounds in a area the size of a quarter from about 50 feet. I love the peep sight. Dang I wish I had one on my Savage rifle.
  2. Should I google that or can you tell me how you jewel?
  3. Big Poppa said May 10, 1997: Mark Martin wins the Winston Select 500, a race which had no caution flags, at a NASCAR 500-mile record speed of 188.354 mph (303.126 km/h), nearly ten years after the introduction of restrictor plates. At least admit she is easy to look at
  4. I think there ought to be a law that exisiting gun laws be enforced before any new ones may be ennacted.
  5. mike it sounds like you are doing great. I have extra energy too but not to the extent of bouncing off the walls. I guess I had never thought about it before but nicotine is a physical depressant<sp>. So our bodies are just trying to figure out what to do without the nicotine slowing them down. I am finding I enjoy the extra burst of energy. How are you sleeping? I had a few good nights but this last night was up and down. Guess that is why I was out of bed at 5:15 and reading stuff on the computer waiting to go to work here in a bit. Forgot, no vitamins here, but it sounds like a good idea, lots of water is supposed to be very good too.
  6. Tower I think you will win the rifle beauty contest hands down. Uberti makes great stuff and their furniture is always top rate. You know shooting BP cartridges is period correct for that rifle. I bet it makes great smoke. Can't wait to see you shoot it. I am trying to figure out how to reload .45 Colt, I want to be able to load my own BP rounds for my Remington conversion on my '58. I'm saving up some cartridges right now so when I get a loader and other components I will be good to go.
  7. sorry to read about your Mom Lucky. Thanks for sharing her story. An ex boss of mine here in Knoxville has throat cancer and that was the final motivation for me to quit. Reading of others troubles is a good reminder and maybe in some small way their troubles will help some of us. I wish her nothing but the best of luck with her ongoing treatment. Mikedwood, maybe you wont get the flu symptoms. The lady at my work who quit 6 days ago has none of the symptoms. Her deal is bouncing off the walls. I swear she acts like she is on ten hits of speed all day long. She is driving us all crazy, lol. All us quitters got to stick together.
  8. The option is out there, LOL Goex Black Dawge Black Powder Ammunition 45 Colt (Long Colt) 235 Grain Lead Flat Nose Box of 50 Elliott that rifle is freakin AWESOME!!! I love it. One of these days a pistol caliber carbine is in my future. Congrats.
  9. Yep thats the one. I don't know where you are getting the 1K revolver at, LOL I don't think I am dropping that kind of dough on any handgun. The 1873 SAA is sort of a bastard gun as it was never originally produced as a percussion pistol. But the thing packs a wallop when stuffed with 30 grains of fff BP or an equivilant amount of a BP substitute. It shoots a .454 ball and uses #11 percussion caps. (I prefer Remington caps as they are easier to pinch but CCI work ok too.)
  10. Jr. all the way at Dega baby. Mars don't be hating on Danica, show the love man. I would love to see the race Sunday go green for the entire advertised distance. The last time that happened my man Mark Martin won. Maybe he can do it again.
  11. I just came from ATF and I want to say thank you and it was a wonderful experience. ATF will get all my business. Of course I do not mean that ATF, but I am talking about Austin's Tennessee Firearms in Oak Ridge TN. I have been wanting to get a rifle for my 5.5 year old grandson. I found the one I wanted and spoke to Phantom6 (Mike Crowe) about ordering this beauty for us. Mike called and got me a great price and in short order I received a phone call telling me our awesome single shot .22 was in town. I went up to O.R. this evening, filled out the paper trail to to keep the other ATF happy and came home with the grandsons rifle. We got a Savage Cub Mini Youth Single Shot .22 LR. This is an heirloom quality rifle that with a little care will be shot by my great great grandchildren. My grandson does not know I have it and he is going to flip out this weekend when he is here. He will go batty over it and I can't wait to see his smiling face as we go out into the woods to do a little plinking. He will get a good safety review of the weapon. And I have some snap caps for him to practice loading, sighting, firing and actioning the rifle. He has a very good understanding of the damage guns can do. Well at least as good as a six year old can understand. Once he exhibits he can safely load, action and fire the snap caps we will go out and shoot some live rounds. here is a generic pic of the rifle from the Savage website. His looks just like it except his stock is nicer I think. Thanks again Phantom6 for helping me make this happen. PS: I forgot to mention the exceptional TGO discount I received!!
  12. Neil Patrick Harris Fan Club | Fansite with photos, videos, and more I have added this to my fav's
  13. Mark is there a particular reason you want the shoulder stock? If you gotta have it I would suggest getting a revolver and dedicate it to use as a carbine. I saw a couple at the gunshow last week and they were very much eye catching. If I had not had my heart set on that Henry I would have looked at them a lot closer.
  14. However it happened really does not matter anymore. How did Democrats design the ballots? I thought Harris was in charge of elections? At any rate whoever did it probably cost Gore the election. If you have ever voted using a punch card you will understand this easier. You take the punch card and slide it down into a slot. There are pages that you turn and they line up to holes. Where Gores name was on the ballot and Buchannons name was the punch hole did not really line up. You had to pay attention or easily could have punched the ticket for Buchannon. I have no doubt that the Jews in Delray did just that. There was one particular precinct there that was something like 99% Jewish voters and Buchannon won that precinct. I have a very hard time believing that New York and Long Island Jews were voting for Buchannon. Anyway it is all history. Hopefully things will go better this time around.
  15. Rabbi i believe the lying and conniving Katheryn Harris stole Forida from big Al and that is why your boy W got elected. I voted in Florida and I saw the ballots being used. I firmly believe that a whole lot of old, befuddled Jews in Delray Beach voted for Pat Buchannon believing they were casting for big Al. I saw the ballot first hand, voted on the same machines. I honestly remember seeing it and thinking to myself "wow I bet a lot of people screw that up" And of course I was right.
  16. as a former democrat I like McCain, he reminds me of what Democrats used to be. Them people have gone off the deep end int he last 15 years and have lost a lot of the old core support I think. I still wonder what dirt can be dug up on McCain. I also believe Gore won that election.
  17. mike hang in there, I think you pretty much have the nicotine addiction beat. Now it just comes down to mental toughness and just saying no to smoking. You did great. The first three days were so hard for me too. It will get better every day for the most part now. I have a spell once or twice a day where I wish I had a cigarette but I know it is my mind trying to trick me up. I just keep telling myself NO MORE. You getting any of the "quitters flu" symptoms?
  18. I am not sure about miking the barrel. Someone explained it to me once in reference to a conversion cylinder for my Remmington. It was suggest I slug the barrel. But then another guy jumped in and pointed out the odd number of lands and grooves making it difficult to slug the barrel to determine size of the bore. The revolvers should come with a guide booklet that recommends a ball size. for .44 it will either be .451 or .454. For .36 it works out usually to .375. At any rate as long as there is a ring of lead sheered off when ramming the ball into the cylinder I believe it is good to go. Of course the main decider is if the ball goes on target. All of my .44's will sheer lead with either size ball, but they all shoot better with .454's. That stinks about the trapdoor.
  19. The 1873 SAA , while a bastard gun, is great. I max the loads in it for full show off effect I think it is priced as good or better (pound for pound) as any BP revolver I have seen. I still like the Remington best though. I think it is because of being able to do preacher like quick cylinder swaps with it, LOL [ame]http://youtube.com/watch?v=P382tsARVdM[/ame] His is a cartridge conversion but it is still the same thing
  20. I am truly curious as to what dirt the Dem's have been digging up on McCain. Right now they are screwing each other up, but come post Dem Convention their sights will be on McCain. Does he have ghosts in his closet?
  21. would have been better had "hammer" gun been a Hi-Point!
  22. Many people become addicted to getting tattoed. The process of it all causes pain but also releases endorphins. I am not sure, but if endorphins could be bottled or put in a pill we would all be addicted to it. There are also a lot of people who subscribe to the theory that selective pain can feel good and be good for you. I admit it was a pretty big rush getting the tat.
  23. Actually that alcohol information is pretty basic. It makes me wonder what else they are teaching, or not teaching in that class. If I was an instructor not employed by them I do not think I would want to get very much involved in it. I assume to become qualified as an instructor in HCP that one has to take classes that are properly taught. Where were these guys when the alcohol issue was being taught?
  24. I wonder how the poll would have turned out had the ballot box not been stuffed.
  25. LOL I was trying to be polite.
