  1. Yeah Mark that would be great. I don't know why I never thought about cutting the tip down. I have found that 20 grains works good in all my stuff, 30 is max I shoot but really unless hunting is involved it is a waste of powder. I use instant grits for filler between the powder and ball. Grits are dirt cheap. Powder is not. if you can do it let me know what I owe and I will leave it with Sue at our shoot up there in a few weeks.
  2. I love .22's. whats not to love about them? They go bang, they are inexpensive to shoot, the make holes in targets, they make cans jump about. anyway I have a bolt action, semi auto, lever action and single shot. what am I missing here? recommend something specific. And don't forget, cheap is good.
  3. It took me two tries this time mike. I was going to quit on April 1 but caved in in short order, but a week later and I have not had one since. Actually April 15 was my new quit date but when my wife stopped on me while in AZ I did not have the heart to smoke one more week when she got back home. I never thought she would go through with it. but she is smoke free too, one month tomorrow. Whats funny is we ask each other for ciggys all the time. Then basically say FU about it. Anyway it gives a laugh. you can do it. Pick a date and start over. We ought to shoot sometime
  4. I can get Remington at Bass Pro or Gander for just under 5 bucks a tin. CCI I get at a outdoorsman/primitive weapon/hunting goods store. They are 5 bucks for the #10's and 7.50 for the #11 magnums, ouch! I do not buy many magnums unless I can't get Remingtons at Gander Mtn. The guy at the outdoors store does make me a good deal on .454 balls though. better than I can get anywhere else, internet included. so i buy all my lead balls from him. Real nice guy too. I am guessing if I asked he would knock some off the caps as he does on the balls. But I like the Remingtons better anyway. Goex PB was just over 20 I think, and Pryo is over 20 as well. What I really need is a flask that measures 20 grns of fff or pyro. I use a dipper or cartridge to measure my charge now. No big deal really.
  5. i was thinking crayons to draw barcodes
  6. last night at 6:30 pm was the three week mark for me, still tobacco free and nicotine free. I will be really dissapointed if I cave in now. Meaning to go through all the crap it takes to quit this addiction, headaches, flu symptoms, a couple extra pounds, willpower. To fail now would really suck. Smokers have to know that someday they will die from smoking or the doctor will demand they quit NOW. so either way you have to quit. I am just glad I guess to quit now on my terms. Better than quitting because I am taking a dirt nap on account of smoking. Have not seen a post by Junglist lately, how you doing Daniel? mikedwood, how about you?
  7. Nice looking flinter there Mark. I am really thinking it might be a good choice should ammo purchases be taxed to death. #11's will work I am pretty sure. I can use #10's on my '51 Rebel Navy but to be honest they are not reliable. A lot of the time it takes two strikes to set off the cap. #11's go on the first try. But there is a chance of the cap falling off, so pinching it down is key. The CCI caps are heavier and a little harder to pinch than Remingtons. I like the Remington better but I do use both. 4.75 is a great price for them. What did you pay for the fff?
  8. Mark do you know where that place is on Snap Ferry Road? Tower I want to see Julies new gun shoot the black stuff ,LOL

    NFL Draft

I must have it wrong in my mind. Maybe it was LA specifically they were nnot goi9ng to expansion into. I thought I read in that story that the NFL said no expansion anytime soon. Who knows.
  10. Some weeks I spend a lot of time on the road. I see a lot of motorcycle riders do stupid stuff. Not that it has been insinuated here but it is not always the fault of four wheeled driver. At least five times in the last year I have had them dang near drive under my truck. You know that International Diesel does not stop on a dime. Just last week on Friday there was a guy on 640, not really dressed for cycle riding weaving in and out of traffic like a madman. It is a wonder he did not cause a wreck. I saw him come up from behind me going from far left to far right and back again. By me doing 90 maybe weaving from one side to another. What an idiot. whats funny is when I exited at Washington Pike and got up to the red light, he was one car ahead of me. kind of like tortoise and the hare.

When is the stinkin Titans lease up? (Sorry they were always the stinkin Oilers so they are now the stinkin Titans.) There is a guy in LA who is going to build a NFL type stadium with his own cash in hopes of lurring a team there. The NFL is not expanding, I am not sure they ever will again. I think any NFL team who's lease is almost done will be chased hard to make a move. I dunno but do them stinkin (ahem) titans have any attendance troubles?
  14. I think he fantasizes about carrying the handgun while at work
  15. thats one big piece of bait.
  16. I am curious why a FFL would even want to get involved in this? I would not do it if I held a license.
  17. woman can have pearl grips without them being pimp guns
  18. Tower didn't you refer the the French once as surrender monkeys? That one kills me.
  19. That ivory handled gun was sweet looking. I agree about pearl handles being ornaments on pimp guns.

Nope, hated the titans when they were the oilers and nothing has changed. As for UT, I root for them or against them depending on how the season is going and what will be more entertaining to me. I start out rooting for them to do good, but if they tank I root for them to really tank.
  21. Mark the place is called Hearthstone Guns. It is in Afton TN. 3625 Snap Ferry Rd. Phone number is 423-638-7747 Here is a link for a map. http://maps.yahoo.com/map?q1=3625%20Snapps%20Ferry%20Rd%20Afton%20TN&mag=5&ard=1#mvt=m&lat=36.210396&lon=-82.769433&mag=5&zoom=14&q1=3625%20Snapps%20Ferry%20Rd%20Afton%20TN&gid1=14978727 fg and cannon fuse? I can't wait!
  22. Mark I like the idea of a nipple wrench. I have bought a couple of them and they do not hold up. Either they are too soft or too brittle.
  23. off the top of my head, maybe the narrow pipe could hold extra balls? It could be pinched at one end to hold the balls in and have a strap or clip attached on the ball dispensing end. The dispensing end would also fit over the shortened loading lever.
  24. 9mm, .38special or .357mag. Mostly I just decide how many bad guys might need killing today then load up as need be.

I can top anyones pain with who I follow in the NFL. The only thing I really want out of life ( the unimportant stuff in life anyway) is a Super Bowl championship before I die. Thought we had a real chance at it a couple years ago until Carson went down in that playoff game. Since then it has been more of the same old thing. I hope they let Chad sit until after 2011 just to teach him a lesson. Heck we ain't gonna win anyway. And since I live in Knoxville I have two other favorite teams in the NFL. Those two teams just depend on who is playing the Titans and Colts any particular week, LOL Can't stand the way they cram the Colts down our throats here in Knoxville. Makes me hate them even more.
