You are the FTF buyer, any paperwork involved?
Mike.357 replied to wattsbarbound's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
good thing for yall you ain't counting on me to be your friendly FFL then. -
"might be" leaves a lot of wiggle room for the snake. And the threat would be to her not you
-
No, but I did once stay at a Holiday Inn Express. I am pretty sure we have established it is illegal to kill a snake in TN without the proper permit.
-
basically what I take from this is it is OK to pick and choose what laws to break. And OK to pick and choose which laws to condone breaking.

I just bought all the Federal .22 LR the local Wallyworld had, LOL It is only 1800 rounds but the price was decent.

my guess is they will run the gun only if you present them the gun, not just a set of numbers. If it is stolen they will not give it back to you. Not so sure they will book you. And this being the case why would I as a fictional FFL holder want to be involved. Now maybe for an established customer who I have a standing relationship with. But certainly not for some schmoe off the street. -

Okay, so you come into my fictional gun shop with a weapon. You want me to run the numbers on it for you. I run the numbers and find the gun is reported stolen. do I give it back to you? Do I call police for them to come speak to you? I am just not sure whats in it for me as a fictional gun shop owner. Why would I want to involve myself in something that does not aid my business? I do not take the financial risk of operating a business to get involved with stolen firearms. The police will be happy to run the numbers for you I believe. -
Maybe the law has changed but I guarantee I have read that it is illegal to kill any snake in this state. I would not be making it up. It was a few years ago. I was riding the four wheeler out in the big hayfield. I saw a critter doing something and could not make out what was going on. I rode towards the critter. I got to about ten feet from it and it was an possum with his two front hands/paws death gripping a big ass snake. He was obviously trying to kill the snake. And he was way more worried about that snake than he was about me on the quad. I raced home to get a camera to take a pic. When I got back the snake was dead as could be and the possum was gone. I took the wife back out later on and the snake was gone too. I guess the possum came back to take the snake home for dinner. Anyway I took the pic of the snake and used the internet to ID it. While IDing the snake I found the thing about killing snakes in TN. I believe it was off a fish and wildlife website. But like I said it was three or four years ago. Personally I find it humorous that grown adults squeal and act like little girls when it comes to snakes. I am not like Pokey or Boom and handle these things every Sunday. But I would not kill them just for being in my yard or property. They serve a valid purpose in the cycle of things. Snakes also do not like humans either, they are trying to get away if you give them a chance. And mothballs work great to get them out of wherever they are bothering you at. No, I do not know how you pull the moths legs apart to get at their balls either.

You all do know it is illegal to kill any snake in Tennessee? Mothballs are great snake and vermin repellants. Are the owners of this site advocating breaking laws?

I had a dream about your cannon last night, LOL it was weird. What does it shoot? I asked you in my dream last night and you answered "number 7's" What the heck is a number 7? -
Clean, we have been meeting and shooting in Kingsport at Mark@Sea's place along the Hoslten River. If Towerclimber can commit to be there we will be on for the third Saturday of the month. Generally we meet 11 ish and shoot til the ammo runs out. Follow the thread as the date draws nearer for more concrete information.

Important news about Park carry
Mike.357 replied to Ricochet's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I could always spend my time in the Smokys on the NC side of the park. -
I have shot the Henry Survival rifle before. It is a pretty nice little .22 Very convenient how it all packs into the stock of the rifle. I think i really like the Pump action rifle. That Taurus is awesome looking. I am just not sure about the internal lock they use. I would love to find a used Winchester pump. But I am not sure of the price will be in line or not. Not to matter really anyway. This thing is a month or more down the road. i am debating offering up my Remington Sport 12 Pump shotty and 100 rounds of ammo for sale to finance a new rifle. Dunno what I would get for it though. I am not so much a fan of shooting shotguns. But I sure love the 22's

Thanks Dave, smoke one for me pal.

Thats about what I was thinking Glockmeister. Do you know if manufacturers are alerted to stolen gun serial numbers? -
Right on Canyn. You da man! Keep that date foremost in your mind. Make sure people at work know, get all the support you can. Pier pressure to keep quit is a big help. It really does get physically better after three or four days. The hard part is saying goodbye to a dear friend in the process. Ciggys have always been there for me. But kick their ass (Butts, get it, LOL) to the curb!! Does you wife smoke? If not I bet this will make her real happy. Get her to let you increase the gun fund budget as incentive.

We could do a trade. I get .454 balls for 11 bucks a hundred out the door. They are Speer brand, nice and soft. I am stopping there Friday to get some. I bought the last box last week and asked him to order 4 or 5 more. He does that and puts them on the shelf but I am the only one buying so far. His shelf price is 13.95 but I get a better deal What size 50 would you be looking for? PS: Sue is not going to shoot me for getting you hyped up for BP is she? LOL -
Anyone got one of these without their locking system? Some rifles look great blued, others in stainless. This in stainless made my heart go flutter. http://www.taurususa.com/products/product-details.cfm?id=421&category=Rifle

I like the KelTec but it is DQ'd on account of it not being a .22LR the Walther is WOW outta-site. But a touch more than I would want to spend. Am going to keep that on the list but it is a back burner. I think i have to sell a couple of things to afford that. Already got a bolt mw but a CZ would be on the radar if I did not have a bolt action. Actually that CZ is very similar to my Savage, just costs a bit more. Dunno about suppressed. Can that be added to any or all of the existing .22's I have? Or does it have to be specific to one particular rifle? The Model 62 is very interesting. A Winchester is a bit high dollar buyt the Taurus looks nice. Might have to reasearch that one. Seems I could sell something I already have to afford that one.
