Georgian Minister: War with Russia "very close"
Mike.357 replied to Magiccarpetrides's topic in General Chat
If I was Voldemort I would be hiring a lawyer to sue someone. -
Who here is watching Dancing with the Stars? I am into it and I hope Christian wins it all. he was awesome last night. Being the one armed bandit makes him even better. If i was gay I would have a hard time picking between him and strickj. I am bummed Julianne Hough<sp> got voted off a few weeks ago but they stuck her with a dog in Adam Corrola. I guess that was her penalty for being a two time winner. Besides all that she is freakin HOT! Ok own up, I know I am not the only guy watching this show.

I wonder what he did to the wifey and her stud?

Way to go Daniel, heck if my quitting encouraged you to do it I feel even better about my quitting. You are awesome dude. You have it beat. from now on it is just about mental toughness and saying no.

glad I got mine back in the good old days of only waiting 30 days.

as close as the range is to the river I am guessing there are plenty of snakes already there. But if needed maybe Boom and Pokey can borrow some from church for us to use.

revolvers are where it is at, you all can have them tacticool guns. Rabbi while not fond of that paint job the revolver itself is sure nice looking. That one kind of looks like and Ohio State model. Maybe you could start selling them in school colors. You also might need to sell some in bright orange for the attendees of State Penn.

so where is the pics of ugly revolvers?

Had some beers tonight. Did fine without ciggys. Substituted some .22LR instead PS: you naysayers keep your anti alcohol and bullet :eek:comments to yourself.

YEEHAW!! This sounds like the shoot of the year! I am so excited Mark that you will be able to make it. This surely is an unexpected surprise! A smoke making event to be sure. I am trying like all heck to get some more fff this week. I have to do my buying on the sly, glad my boss does not read this message board, LOL . But I called Hearthstone and they open at just about the right time for me Thursday. So fff on Thursday and .454 balls Friday. We can nail it down better as it gets closer, but I can bring a weed eater and between a couple of us we can clear the range out in short order if need be. I will make sure I am cleared for an early take off that weekend. I will for sure bring the front stuffers, that and .22's for me then. One thing we HAVE to do is load up as many percussion weapons as we have shooters and see how big a smoke screeen we can throw. Wow I am excited about this shoot for sure. Tower will you be at Marks that Friday? Just thinking off the top of my head maybe I can come up Friday afternoon. I can throw a tent up somewhere and do a little camp out Friday night. Might be a real big time!

lol Brian, heck a month ago I would see someone light up on TV or in a movie and I would have to excuse myself to go smoke. When to smoke is definitely contagious. Heck now when driving back and forth to work it seems every car I encounter has a driver either smoking or blabbing into a cell phone or doing both.

1851, 1860, 1861 revolver comparisons
Mike.357 replied to Mark@Sea's topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
I'd argue that point The Remington '58 is the high water mark of authentic black powder pistols. Not near as plentiful during the nastiness in the early 1860's but it was surely the most desired of the two designs. Mine is a 5.5 inch barrel, but I will be on the lookout for the long barrel one later this summer. XD, if you want to go to the shoot you only really need to make it to Knoxville. I am sure you can carpool up there with us. -
Thats what I keep hearing. I guess time just makes them easier to deal with. My boss made me laugh the other day. We were talking about me not smoking and he mentioned he used to smoke. I was totally shocked. he is into health and has run marathons and done the Iron Man thing in Hawaii. I mentioned how I get urges to have one. He laughed and said " heck, i'd hot box the hell out of one right now if I could". I really miss smoking and having some beers though.

+1 to what Brian says. I wonder as well if the places that are posted incorrectly do so on purpose. This would appease the million mommies and such and also allows us to carry. The mommies surely are not smart enough to know that incorrect postings do not count.

you are right of course Mars. I forgot about ABC and ESPN getting the contract back. it will be a blessing for sure once they are off Fox

Friday I got off fairly early. I came home and since it was such a nice day I decided to cut my grass. I am on a roll, the tractor started again. I enjoyed it so much I loaded it up in the bed of the truck and went over to the mother in laws and cut her grass too. I don't have any special time to go to work today so I get a bonus day of yard work. I decided to weed eat. I did all that I could find around here to trim up. I even got an extra bonus in that as the weed eater need to be reloaded with trimmer line. So I got done with the weed eating and started looking at the two shrubs on the south west side of the house. They needed some touching up so I got the loppers and trimmers out and wacked the heck out of them. They are in place more for the function of holding the ground in place than for beauty, so wacking them back does not hurt. The root system on them seems strong so they will come back in short order anway. I hauled all the trimming off. I decided to dump them on the back side of my bullet stop at the Hillbilly Shootin' Range. Next time I get clay the sticks and such will help give the clay something to stick to. So I am done with the shrubs and started looking at trees on that southwest side of the house. There is a maple tree I have been avoiding trimming for a few years now. Well today was the day. I got the pole saw out and started wacking back what I could reach. by the time I was satisfied I had drug out a ladder to get a branch that was bothering me and I also trimmed up another maple and an oak. A couple of them branches ended being about a foot around. More like trees growing off of trees. I now have all these branches laying over on the side of the house. I decided to lay them atop one another. I am starting to feel like quite the lumberjack yanno. Being inspired by the TV show Axe Men I used straps to bind the branches together and hooked the stap onto the golf cart and drug them off down to the big brush pile in the big hayfield. Took four trips but it is done. So between the trees and shrubs that side of the house looks good! I guess I will eat some lunch.

I know if i start drinking here at home I am not getting in the car to make a smoke run. So drinking would not lead to smoking. Maybe next weekend then. Now if someone else was here and there was drinking and they were smoking it would be very hard to not want one. Not sure how hard it would be to not have one.

i believe NBC and Fox do NASCAR. ABC does IRL.

I have my own hillbilly shooting range here in Knox County. I called the sheriffs office first. Worrying about them having your number is paranoia. I was told that the county has no ordnance against discharging a firearm. The only stipulations were to not fire in the direction of a building or an area where people are. You are responsible for your bullet. I have a dirt pile that I use as a backstop, and a target frame that can be put directly in front of the dirtpile. The dirt pile sits in the woods on the bottom of a hill. Lately we have taken to setting up a shooting gallery of sorts with targets on the dirt pile and at the base of it. Things like canned food, empty tin cans, water filled soda bottles, golf balls, charcoal hanging from a stick and a string and plastic army men. Its a hoot.

I am glad to read you are still going strong. I am getting close to a month and I am pretty sure I am done with it. I know I do not want to smoke again. But then again I doubt anyone really WANTS to smoke. It is an addiction and I know I have no choice in the matter. It is not like I can have one or two then be off them again. There are still some times where I really get an urge to smoke. Not sure what sets off that urge. Might be driving down the road, or just get done cleaning a gun, or sometimes but not always after a meal. Just can't ever tell when the urge will hit. Seems to be getting easier every day though. Today I really had a taste for beer. Have some nice and cold in the fridge. But did not drink any. I just know it is going to make me want a smoke. Now mind you I am not going to get in the car and drive to the store for smokes. So I just decided the heck with it and skipped the beer. I hope someday I feel I am to the point where I can have a nice cigar and drink a few adult beverages. Right now I am afraid it would end up with me smoking cigs again. I really would like to throw a few beers in the cooler and ride the golf cart off into the woods and have a smoke and a drink.

Tennessee carry permit class in spanish?
Mike.357 replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
This statement is not truth. -
nice collection, looks like all you need is a semi auto long gun to round it out.

if MRN could synch up with Fox I would watch on fox and listen to MRN. MRN does a great job, and there are not all those in race commercial BS distractions. I can't even watch the green flag, if I hear big mouth with his boogetty BS I am pretty much done with it. How many years has it gone on? It is tired and worn out and they need to come up with something else. I miss the old days of races on ESPN. More coverage does not equate to better coverage. Waltrip could not clean Benny Parson windshield in the booth. Too bad they will not bring in Buddy Baker. Now that guy could call a race.

a decade would be fast compared to the 14 months it is going to take TDOT to lay one mile of pavement in Knoxville to fix I-40. If TDOT was going lay that pipe it would take 90 years
